She can hate me all she wants, but our love is written in the stars…
I rarely show my face in the human world, although for her I’ll make an exception. Most mistake me for a handsome, wealthy stranger, and refuse to believe I am the stuff of myth and legend.
Not my Celeste. I see the awareness in her eyes, followed by the most delicious fear.
Wolf Shifter.
However, I’m not just any wolf shifter. I’m a Lunar Lord, and she doesn’t yet know that she’s in the presence of an immortal. Nor is she aware that I’ve waited hundreds of years for her.
She still refuses to believe she’s mine. No matter. Her family and her fiancé mean nothing to me. Her contempt and hatred of me even less.
Because, whether she likes it or not, Celeste is going to be my Lunar Bride…
The Wolf Lord, Fenris, was by far one of the grumpiest individuals that I've ever read. He didn't like anybody!! I don't even think he really liked the main female character, Celeste, his "fated mate." At least not til much later, and even then he seemed to just tolerate her unless they were having sex. Celeste, well, I didn't dislike her, she was just so wishy washy and for someone who was supposed to be so smart, she did some pretty dumb things. I never really connected with any of them and will not be continuing with the series. It was a struggle to get through this book.
I mean who dates a guy that controls what you do, isn't interested in anything you are, and you travel everywhere for him to follow his band. She quit the job of her dreams for this guy. And when they break up & she asks if he ever loved her or wanted to marry her he says NO. That he actually loved another girl but that girl stopped coming to his shows. Celeste had been at a show so he started dating her. She was comfortable he said. She's not a pair of house slippers! Fenris is the alpha lord and he ends up kidnapping her because she's his mate. And a old enemy was close & could kill her to get to him. Fenris is immortal. There were a lot of things he should have told her. I think things would have gone better between them. Again Celeste does dumb things like run away in a tropical storm or a winter storm.
This book looked promising but it doesn’t live up to the hype or expectations. The characters aren’t likable, and the mfc is really stupid. Engaged to a guy who really don’t care about her yet she clings to an engagement with desperation. The main male character is just plain annoying. And does nothing impressive. Instead of a strong wolf lord, he comes across as an annoying fly, you want to swat. I’m at the end of chapter 12 and absolutely nothing of interest has happened. Not sure I’m going to finish this book as I fell asleep twice. Truest the best thing about this book so far is it’s beautiful cover.
I don’t like to rate books I don’t finish so I won’t rate it. However, I decided to quit at 51% because I was just so bored, I was forcing myself to read it and getting no enjoyment… I’m not about that so won’t be carrying on with it either- I tried 🤷🏻♀️
It’s could be an interesting plot but you don’t really understand why anything is happening until almost 80% into the book. They meet, she eventually runs away in a really stupid way considering she was told there’s a storm. They go somewhere else without really saying why and she does almost the same thing, again in a storm. It’s just a very frustrating read. I don’t think I can handle going to book 2 for more of the same which is unfortunate because it could be a really cool story.
Ended up skimming about a 45% of the book because they had the same conversations over and over and over. Internal conversations and external conversations 🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️. And then of course it ends on a cliffhanger. I will not be reading book 2.
The story could definitely be told in one book there was just so much unnecessary information and circling the same wagons over and over
This the first by this author and the start of the series in the Lunar Bride where a wolf lord just takes what or who he wants despite how she feels about it. Although, I hate cliffhangers not sure why some authors think they are building it up for us by making us wait…..I don’t like it I need to know who is who, what is what, and where are they headed unfortunately, we don’t that YET…I HATE CLIFFHANGERS 😊! Celeste a normal human engaged to her fiancé Ben, working a dream job but quits to head to a job that pays a littler more money to her support them once they are married. Fenris sexy as all out Lunar Lord wolf shifters has been searching a lift time to find his mate the moment, he lays eyes on Celeste he knows she is the special one he is looking for because she a descendant of the Handmaiden Witches their power flows through her even if she doesn’t know it yet (yet being the operative word 😊). When Fenris kidnaps her from her home with the claim it is for her protection she fights him tooth and nail at every turn, and this is when she discovers the powers, she has quickly learning to use them against him that is until she thinks she killed him that isn’t what she wants. They agree to work together despite the pull she feels towards him she wants to learn who she is, what are the abilities, and he is just the Lord to teach her although, she keeps telling herself she don’t be his Lunar Bride although, her treacherous body and her misguided heart didn’t get the memo but will the two of them learn to communicate with one another before it is too late, will she every trust him, will he strive for her to trust him, will he be honesty in her history, will he tell her why she is his bride, where are they headed so many questions and oh, man we have to wait ☹?.

I enjoyed Skye Wilson's writing so much I had to read another of her series. I literally binge read this trilogy so I honestly can't really remember where one book ends and the next begins so this will be my review of all. Did this need to be three books, 900 pages total? No. But did I still enjoy reading them, yeah!
They were fun, the characters were easily likeable and noone really felt too useless to the plot. Although the characters added in the later books did feel flatter and shoved in, (mainly liana) Was it slightly predictable that everyone ended up with someone in the close circle, yes but I wasn't too mad about it. As mentioned, this could have been shorter, the second book especially had a lot of what felt like unnecessary events in it, that could have been cut out or sped over. Same in the last book. I did find myself wanting for a resolution by the end as it felt it was dragged out a lot.
I did love the romance and I appreciated how it was slowly built up, none of the insta-love mate stuff. I also loved that they argued and then actually resolved it like adults having a mature conversation.
I wish we found out more about her dad. It also felt like it leant a lot into the witch part of her and nothing into the other part, or ever really explained how she was that or why it mattered. It literally had no impact on the plot.
Book one was my favourite as it had the best pacing and made me love the characters, and intrigued to read on. Two was the typical lul you get in mid-series books, but not bad by any means. By three, I was too many pages deep to give up and I wanted a resolution so read on, but really didn't live up to the first in the series
This story was telling of several people getting to know themselves and those that they were interested in. This one lady was practice to become better in what she was doing. And then be trained to be better than what she was. But while she's doing this her practicing and training have been in her head as dreams and they have been telling others what was to happen. Or accidentally in this one time her dreams were not only telling her, but they were telling this enemy unknowingly, about the Lunar Lords brother. So the enemy was able to find the island they were on. Then the enemy has possibly killed the Lunar Lords brother, and has sent him to another place than where they all were. Also the enemy has unknowingly taken the Lunar Lords mate. So everyone are trying to get the minds to come back to working for them again! Then the Lunar Lord is trying to find out where the enemy and her men have gone so he can try to do two things to help out them all. Then they're all going to try get things together so that they had their minds working again and try to do what they really need to do for themselves! And be able to see that they all can get together and help to get Celeste out of the enemy's, Sabina's basement jail. Then try to get together and get Sabine. They were going to make sure that she isn't a problem for anyone any more. Then the Lunar Lord his brother and Celeste should then be able to get themselves into being able to do some good. We'll see if they can do all of that, without harming each other.
The two main characters are Fenris the Lunar wolf lord who is immortal and Celeste a human who is a descendant of the hand maiden witches but she does not realize this as her aunt has given her "medicine" that suppressed her powers since she was five though she thought it was for her anxiety. Fenris first meets Celeste at the planetarium that she works at when he is searching for a dangerous vampire enemy named Faulkner that had shown up in her city. He is also in town to visit some vampire associates named Piers and Gilbert who might have info on why Faulkner is in town. Celeste was startled when she first saw Fenris because she had dreamed of him the night before. When Fenris first sees her he realized she is his fated mate. When the situation turns dangerous he brings her to his private island to keep her safe but it is against her will. She doesn't trust him and knows nothing of her true heritage or his or the paranormal world. As the story goes along it is a game of wills with her trying to escape and him saving her. Over time truths are revealed and she comes to care for him. Will Fenris finally win her over and make her his Lunar bride. Will he uncover what Faulkner is up to before trouble ensues? You will have to check this out to see. This story does end in somewhat of a cliffhanger so you will have to get the next installment to see how it ends but the story is well worth it.

Mysterious and riveting, this book catches you up and keeps you interested !! Fenris is a very old immortal. Very. As an ancient wolf shifter, lots of fairy tales have been told about him and his family. Lots of Terrible tales. But Fenris has lived through it all . Not ever expecting his fated mate. Never that . On a whim, he finds himself going into the local planetarium, and once he lays his eyes on her, he knows that LOTS of things in his life are about to change. Celeste is a tour guide at the local planetarium. She loves her job. She has always been interested in the stars, and enjoys sharing information about the tales of the stars and constellations. On this particular day , she is still thinking about the very weird, explicit dream she had last night. When she turns to escort her tour group around , the Man of her dreams IS THERE !!!!! Right in front of her !!!! I enjoyed the chemistry between these two as well as the glimpses into Fenris' past, and the general lore of this overall story. I think that a lot of paranormal books have their own ," lore", as befits the particular story . Just so you know, there is a second part to the story, so there s a ," cliff - hanger ". I think its worth buying the other book to get the whole story.
“Whether I could trust her felt less and less important…”
This book would have been ten stars except for the fact that there’s no end to it. Yep. That’s right. Another undisclosed cliffhanger. I don’t understand why authors can’t just say upfront that when it isn’t the entire story.
I chose this one because it looked different from the typical shifter books out there and I was right. To begin with, Fenris is really old. Like over seven hundred years old. He’s also not just a shifter, he’s a Lunar Lord. Celeste has a complicated background that she’s not only unaware of, she also doesn’t want to believe in. She fights Fenris every step of the way. There is so much going on between them, their sparks are mental and emotional as well as physical. And since I wasn’t aware it was a cliffhanger, I was stressed and on pins and needles about how they were going to resolve everything by the end of the book. Well I found out the answer. They don’t. I hate cliffhangers. Now I have to wait two more long months to find out what happens. Grrr! If it wasn’t so flippin’ fantastic I’d say forget it, but I can’t. It’s just too good. I have to know. I just hope there’s only one more part left. I don’t know if I can handle having to wait for even more.
Celeste is just a normal woman who is engaged and working her dream job. About to be married to Ben, she quits her job to find something that will pay a little more so she can help support. Fenris is a wolf shifter who also happens to be the Lunar Lord. Celeste is special, only she doesn’t know it. She is a descendant of the Handmaiden Witches. While she doesn’t want to believe it, she is able to see the future and has projected her hot, steamy thoughts to Fenris. Taken from her home in Florida for her protection, Celeste is fighting every step of the way. She learns to do a few things and uses that to her advantage. Until its not and she believes she killed Fenris.
Wanting to learn more about her background and family, Celeste agrees to work things out with Fenris, but hasn’t agreed to become his Lunar Bride. I’m anxious to see what happens in the next book in this series. I hope the communication between Fenris and Celeste improves – a lot of things could have been avoided with better communication!

Celeste is engaged and soon to marry Ben. Fenris, an immortal wolf shifter and a Lunar Lord, is about to turn her life upside-down. As a descendant of the Handmaiden Witches, she is the ideal Lunar Bride that Fenris is seeking. He is heavy-handed in making decisions for her with no explanation, snatching her away from her home and not communicating which may have helped to make this easier on her. (I had visions of a grunting Neanderthal dragging the poor woman back to his cave. His arrogance annoyed me immediately.) He seems to enjoy her fear. But she continues to fight him. Will he convince her that they belong together?
Celeste has a tendency to overthink problems and her faulty decisions get her in trouble. But even so, Fenris is not a good match for her because he doesn’t seem to care what she thinks anyway. He is the Lord and ruler of her life, apparently. His arrogance would drive me crazy. Hopefully with the next book, I’ll see some redeeming qualities and start to like him better.
First, nothing was linear. Everything jumped around. Dialogue, what people knew/didn’t know. No one’s reactions to things were even realistic at all. And I don’t mean the ‘belief in magic’ reactions. I mean just logical reactions to things. No one communicated clearly or well. The FMC doesn’t believe in magic, that she’s a witch, thinks she’s been kidnapped, doesn’t “know” anything about the paranormal world (but yet somehow KNOWS the NAME OF this God?), etc. and yet she has sex with the guy anyway?!!! Then kicks him out of her room over something completely inane and unimportant. But the MMC is no better than her!
I couldn’t stomach this book at all. It’s so juvenile. Plus we OPEN with spice that makes zero damn sense at all! It’s like thrown in randomly throughout the book just to have it. It was cringey, rather than enhancing the story.
I do think the synopses of the entire series sounded great, so I’d bet with an EDITOR and PUBLISHER and a lot of rewrites, this could have been a great book/series.

I wasn't sure what to expect. I found the writing felt a bit different from the author's other books; nothing bad, but a different tone. I found it long considering the book doesn't answer all questions in this book; which leads me to assume this is only book 1 in the series.
I liked the concept and felt come the end I was invested in knowing what was next; but it wasn't till the last 3rd of book that I got into it. I found the first 2 parts long to get a sense of where the book was heading. The main character's personality is strong to connect to; once you know more as to why - you understand her better. Also the communication skills of the Wolf Lord takes time to get used to.
Overall; not a bad start to the series. Hopeful for the rest.
>I am an independent reviewer. This book is the 1st in the Lunar Bride series and ends in a cliffhanger. Celeste is an orphan who dreams of a man and then accidentally meets him. Fenris is a wolf shifter god and realizes Celeste is his fated mate. Celeste is not on board and is upset when Fenris kidnaps her and brings her to his private island.
>The secondary characters were engaging. I especially liked the vampire twins, the human, Walter, and Celeste’s BFF, Abi. Fenris is extremely protective and powerful. He doesn’t trust anyone. The reader gets his backstory slowly. I love how Celeste doesn’t give in to him right away.
>This book is appropriate for an adult audience. I am giving this book 4 stars. The book spent too long on the island planning, which slowed the story down.
Celeste is on her last day of work and getting ready for her upcoming marriage. She doesn't expect to be having second thoughts or that one man on her tour she feels a crazy connection with. Fenris knows Celeste is his fated mate, but she has no clue who she is or her past. Fenris sets the wheels in motion to claim her but not everyone is thrilled with what is happening and will stop at nothing to prevent it.
Good chemistry between Celeste and Fenris but so angsty and back and forth particularly with Celeste. Fenris immediately senses she is his lunar mate and Celeste although has had a couple of weird dreams of late has no idea what they mean. Regardless she is a ultra rare type of witch and then some but back and forth and forth and back only to have a cliffhanger ending. I mean come on man 620 pages and no ending, UGH.
Celeste is on her last day of work when she agrees to run a tour. That decision changes the course of her life as she meets Fenris. This tale is base on more mythological roots than any of Skye’s other books, which gives it a nice twist. Also note that this is part of a series and is not a standalone. The good news is that it doesn’t end on a cliffhanger but in a rounded off part of the story. The characters are interesting but stubborn. The chemistry is great between the leads and they have enough mystery and secrets to keep to entertained and guessing. You get to know secondary characters which could have their own story arc or single follow on stories after. I like this story and want to know more and will be reading the next instalment when it is released.
Ok so I love the storyline and the idea, mythology and the world building, but omg the back and forth with Celeste is making me nuts!!! I totally get building up to things but her one minute I don't wanna be the mate, or a witch, then loving her magic using it to her benefit, Fenris says she is the most compassionate person but I disagree she is completely immature at times and when something is staring u in the face it is what it is. Her Aunt definitely kept her magic at bay Fenris and her need to be way more honest with each other!! It's a really good story I just hope in the next book she WOMANS THE HELL UP!! Bc they don't have much time at all. Definitely read this!!
I hate female leads who scream, whine, and complain and then spread themselves out like a buffet as if they didn't just scream and give an insistent "no." Make up your mind -- DO WHAT YOU SAY, say what you mean. Women like this are the very reason so many men get away with the excuse, "her mouth said 'no,' but her body said 'yes.'" While it is NEVER okay for a man to ignore the word "no," women giving mixed signals like this give defense attorneys and misogynistic judges the excuse they need to ignore women's claims of abuse. I detest seeing this portrayed as some great romantic ploy when to me it makes females like this look pathetic, desperate, inconstant and unable to control themselves or their own minds. Either own it or stop it.
This was a really good read. It brings on a different type of mate bond and how it can span lifetimes. I like how Celeste at first only knows of the paranormal from her aunt and her stories. Not knowing everything was real and she herself was paranormal. Fenris has been alive a long time and while on business feels an urge to go to a museum. Unknowingly finding his mate, who has no idea about his world. After taking her to his island he must find a way to help her learn about her magic, and hopefully have her accept the mate bond.

I really felt for Celeste in this one. She did a few stupid things but mostly due to frustration and lack of knowledge. Fenris is so closed down and unwilling to answer the most basic questions it's infuriating. I understand having a rough background and not wanting to give away all your secrets. But dude needs to help his girl out a bit. Which is all to say I found myself completely wrapped up in the book and really enjoyed it and was sad to find out its a cliff-hanger because I really want to know what the dealio is.

Diving right into this, the big problem I had with this was the transitions. Often they were abrupt and I was often going, what the heck happened. I also did not get the relationship. The main character was like nope and then bam sexy times. Did not make sense. I also was not a fan of the main character and the way he held back information, it did not make sense, especially if this dude is that old. So this book got a three because I did finish it, it wasn't a smooth or highly engaging read.

Overall the book was great, however the main character Celeste was annoying! She kept going back and forth with her mate, acting like a irresponsible adult and throwing tantrums. She reminded me of Scully from the X-files, every time Mulder told her that aliens were real and she witnessed it for herself, she had a excuse as to why it wasn’t and that it didn’t add up with science. This was Celeste. She literally had examples of magic and the paranormal but wouldn’t believe.
DNF …. The main character Celeste is insufferable. Unnecessarily argumentative and rude and seems stupid as opposed to just stubborn in her denial of things.
I mean, I understand that people lie to themselves and deny the truth all the time, but that doesn’t make them likable characters.
There is no chemistry between characters but they’re supposed to be fated mates?
And the shifter God is going to wear a condom ?
Lame ….
I think I could probably get into the actual plot of the story on how I think it’s going to go, but I can’t get past how much I dislike Celeste .
