Magnolia Island #4

Fighting for Truth

Rate this book
Detective Levi Jameson can't stand reporters. Not only have they compromised more than one case of his, but their lack of empathy for vulnerable folks turns his stomach.

Gwyn Calloway has spent every day of the last six years trying to bring justice for families of women who disappeared like her sister did, her podcast Fighting for Truth having risen to the top of the charts.

Never in a million years would these two have thought they'd find themselves pretending to be a couple, but diving deep into the Charlie Edwards cold case necessitates it. Not to mention, Gwyn's got some complications of her own knocking from her past, and Levi just might be the answer she's been looking for. As the two form an unlikely alliance to solve the case, they find themselves falling for each other in the plot twist neither saw coming. Still, it all may end in tragedy when the truth is worse than either could've imagined.

Fighting for truth is a fake relationship story of faith, romance, family, and the faithfulness of God even when His people drive us away. It is the fourth in a five book series, with each individual book following one of the Jameson siblings in their lives and loves. There is an overarching plot line that will span the whole series, but each individual book will have its own happy and satisfying ending.

I think this is the first book I’ve ever read that featured someone who worked to solve cold cases who wasn’t in law enforcement. It was rather interesting. And a little scary to think about. Gwyn was a stubborn, tough, but hurting woman. I liked watching her unfold and grow. Levi is fun and a gentleman, but can be just a stubborn as Gwyn. I think my local police should have a self-defense class for women. I really liked that Levi struggled with his attraction to Gwyn because she had turned her back on anything Christian. The advice and messages in this book were really good.
This book has more about the ongoing mystery, but things are still not quite solved.
There are some kisses, but nothing descriptive.
I think my biggest problem was that when people got injured it seemed a little too soon for them to be doing some things. Perhaps more time had gone by than I realized. The time passing in these books is also rather confusing to me.

This is a great book that you don't want to miss. It hooks you on the first page and doesn't let go. It's full of suspense, drama, romance and mystery. Once you start reading it you can't put it down. I highly recommend this book and the entire series to anyone who enjoys Christian suspense.
I received a complimentary copy and was not required to write a review. All opinions expressed are my own.

Another great story.

Each book is a standalone story, or an episode of the epic tale. Each book further develops the strength of characters for the Jameson family and the new characters developed along the way.

I think Malor Ford did an excellent job of providing a faith based tale without the need to include sex, violence or foul language to keep the reader's interest.

Well done Malory. Thanks for you skill and writing diligence

Levi ❤️ Gwyn

Gwyn is one of those hated reporters that Levi thinks the world could do without. She really is a Podcaster. Is there a difference? But she makes him a deal he can’t refuse. This is all about Magnolia Island and the disappearance of “Charlie”, Levi’s oldest brothers girlfriend. Will she show up at the end? Aiden and Charlie’s story will finish the series. Dang…it won’t be out until May, 2023. I can hardly wait, I’m biting my fingernails!

Reality

While the romantic angle of book is totally predictable, the second plot line is intriguing and very interesting. Love the way Ford injects the issue of faith throughout the book. Highly recommend!

WOW!!! This book kept me on the edge of my seat! I love the relationship between Levi and Gwyn, but the suspense of who was involved kept me guessing the entire way through! I am excited to read final book in this series to see how it all plays out.

Wow. An intense ending that makes me bummed I have to wait to keep reading this story. Gwyn is as tough as they come and Levi is protective over so many. They are so sweet together.

I really enjoy the stories in this series but I do not enjoy the AI narrator on the audiobooks, though :(

Exciting adventures in solving a cold case. Characters I could relate to. A mystery to solve and a little clean romance along the way. I had trouble putting this book down!
