Missing Persons: Three Tales of Extreme Suspense

Rate this book
From the merely extraordinary to the super-bizarre, the three stories in this original, audio-only compilation demonstrate the remarkable range of critically-acclaimed author Lewis Shiner. This collection is composed of three novellas of suspense, each read by a different narrator. David Birney performs "Lizard Men of Los Angeles," a pseudo-science-fiction tale of spontaneous combustion. Rex Linn's narration of "Prodigal Son" offers much in the way of entertainment. His rendition of the story's various political and carnival characters grabs the listener's attention and holds it to the end. Saving the best for last, Stefan Rudnicki captures the simultaneous depression and excitement of a music collector who finds a recording that documents Glen Miller's murder. The collector's search for provenance, and for his own redemption, shines in Rudnicki's subtle performance.
