This is one of those books that Christian's need to read. Schaeffer beautifully introduces the true foundation for Christian ecological ethics, moving past a pragmatic approach to issues such as plastic culture and strip mining. The subtle hints and spelling out of a virtue framework, found most prominently in Chapter Six, are much appreciated and are likely the most persuasive method to argue ecological issues. The basic premise "if we mistreat nature we harm not only it, but ourselves" is really only possible given a proper understanding of Imago Dei and the creator/creature distinction, and Schaeffer does an excellent job approachably introducing both concepts meaningfully!
