Chaos is one of the best non fiction book i have ever read, and i found a cool companion piece to it ! Chaos is about the Manson Killings and the supposedly involvement of the CIA, its a incredible book and a must read. The book focuses more on the killing and the case, this graphic novel shines a bigger Light on the CIA side of it. Mk-Ultra was a project in the 50e until the Late 70s, its about manipulation, mind control, and heavily use of LSD to make people do what the want. I know this sounds very conspiracy theory heavy but the real sonate hearings and files about MK-ULTRA are all included in this graphic novel. And its harrowing stuff. People where experimented on without there knowledge,  in bars but also colleagues, its fucking madness really. The comic itself has a pretty weird structure, but if your interested in the subject its a must. The artwork is phenomenal and there are 3D glasservice included, i am a sucker for stuff like that. It was more of a gimmick but nice to try everyone in awhile (the gave me a headache) this was a very original cool read.

The 3D glasses are a gimmick and actually make the reading experience worse. Just leave them off.
This book was well drawn and generally the conversations read clearly but it does jump around a bit and can be confusing to follow.
I enjoyed the main lsd story somewhat but it had a very rushed ending (one page roundups like bad documentary’s) and it had reference prose documents at the back with no notes showing their relevance or use.
I feel this is just an okay historical fiction at best with varying art that is more interesting than the story it’s being use for. The art is doing most of the heavy lifting here.
Worth a read but I would not recommend buying it.

Project MK-Ultra: Sex, Drugs & the CIA - the complete edition, is one of the best comic book I’ve ever read. Not only the narration is smooth, funny and interesting as f*ck, but the main reason why you’ll fall in love with it is the psychedelic artwork. It makes you stay on the page for minutes to explore all the details and colours and just pulls you in you easily! Moreover, you’ll learn a few things about the infamous project!
Can’t stress enough how much I liked it, highly recommend to everybody!

3.5/5 for me. I absolutely LOVE the subject matter of this book. It is (unfortunately) based upon actual events where the CIA non-consensually drugged american citizens to "research" the usefulness of LSD as an interrogation method.

Most of the details surrounding these events are incredibly muddled due to the CIA destroying files relating to it. However, the creators managed to create an interesting narrative using the facts we do have while remaining tasteful in their exploration of this disturbing moment in time that has been swept under the rug of U.S. history.

Now, here's why I couldn't give it a 5. Following the story being told was often cumbersome. The story weaves in and out of reality and drug-induced variations that can easily throw you off.

The art ranges from somewhat underwhelmingly cartoonish to absolutely mind-blowing psychadelia. I can only fault the artist so much for the former because it only made the colorful LSD-laced pages all the more incredible to look at.

I can see myself reading this again one day and enjoying it significantly more. If I were to recommend this (and I do), I would say to do some research on MKUltra and the people involved to give yourself a headstart. It may make this more accessible.

Oh . . you know what? It did come with 3D glasses and a book ribbon that made me feel super classy. For that I will bump my score to a 4/5.
