I’ve spent most of my adult life behind bars. Even when I was released, I was too dangerous to be out in the world, and I found myself back inside within weeks.

When I was given my freedom back for good, all I wanted was to build a relationship with my daughter, and nothing—or anyone—was going to stand in my way.

That is, until the Star Gazers need my help. My brother created the spawn of Satan, and when a young woman needed protection because of my own flesh and blood, it was only right that I step up and take control.

However, there were a few problems.

1. This woman does things to me that no other woman has ever come close to.
2. She is nearly the same age as my daughter, and she lives with my daughter’s best friend.
3. She’s a Star Gazer, and so is her overprotective brother.
4. She drives me to distraction. It’s so bad that I forget who I am and what I’m supposed to be doing.
Do I need to go on?
This is a recipe for disaster.
I need to keep my head in the game.
I need to not succumb to my intense need to drag her into the nearest closet and . . . well, I suppose you can guess.
And before I can stop myself, I’ve fallen in too deeply. The only way to save her from me is to break her heart and hope she will one day forgive me for my sins.

But when history repeats itself, I have one job: I have to save her and her girls.
Will she ever understand why I had to let her go?
Will she continue to hate me forever?
She can’t . . . I’m “The Great Xander Forde” after all.
. . . Or will it be me who ends up being saved?

Oh Lord this book has me feeling full to be honest!

I loved the characters, the plot and the twists and turns!

Xander Forde can get it anytime! This man is so dashing, sometimes he got on my nerves but I'm not watching! Loved when he was bossy or when he's on protective mode!! He really got schooled by Sofia, he was doomed to fall for her! Touch her and you die is forever one of my favourite tropes!

Sofia my sweet Sofia, she's been through a lot and still is, she's one tough gal and I'm so proud of her! I hated when she talked badly about herself, her ex really damaged her but she's resilient and tough as nails! She knew Xander would be IT for her!

The SPICEEEE is so good besties!

Definitely recommend it, you're in for a treat 100%!

Thank you Martina and Riley for the ARC 🙏🏻

Just let me give you my review of this book, and I'll talk about the whole series...
When Xander appeared for the first time in "North" I already felt sorry for him. Yes, he was a prisoner and not because of a small thing. He had killed people. But as a Star Gazer, it's for sure, he didn't kill good people. I don't want to say too much because it would spoil "North". Yes, that's the problem when you read a series that is so extremely interconnected. But I love it 🤩
Xander is a good man. But with his past, he looks cold and hard for everyone. Except for Sofia. She sees the real Xander not only "The Great Xander Ford". She doesn't even see the huge age gap. Honestly, who would think that Xander is 44? Girls, this man is HAF (hot as f*ck).
It's not easy for Xander to trust women. OK, not trusting may be the wrong words. He just doesn't want any woman except for one thing... He already had the love of his life. And he still loves her. God, can a man be cuter??? It's sooo sad 🥺

This whole series is action-packed, but it's also sooo funny. When they talk about $ex (and they talk A LOT about it), it's so funny when a relative of the girl hears what the man is doing with her... 🤣 I think we all know that no brother wants to know what a man does with your sister. Or what the guy does with your daughter... But in a house full of $ex addicted people... I love it.
My favorite book is "East", followed by this one "Saved". But I loved all 7 books of these two series (Moral Compass & Healing Wounds). I inhaled them all in one month. And I'll miss the whole extended McGarry clan. A family who stand for each other and helps each other and so many other people...
This was the last unread book I had by Martina and try to wait calmly for her new release... Book 4 of "The Blackmoore Brothers".
I highly recommend all of Martina's books!!!

Age gap romance that tears at your heart

I’ve loved every single one of both this series and the Moral Compass series… and this book truly has everything a great romance story needs.

Just like all Martina’s other books I haven’t been able to put it down because I’ve fallen once again into her world of vigilante heroes and got lost in the whirlwind romance of the main characters.

We’ve already met Xander Forde in previous books, and it’s fair to say he’s always been a little… well… scary. He’s been imprisoned most of his adult life because he was considered dangerous- but every action was to save another life or lives. The real man behind the powerfully brutal enigma is caring, loving and hot-as-heck. He doesn’t wear his heart on his sleeve by any stretch of the imagination and is often known for his hard, no nonsense pragmatism - that is until he meets Sofia.

Sofia is the older sister of Mateo (from Damaged). They were both kidnapped in Mexico as teenagers and trafficked to America. They were saved by the McGarry’s and taken in by the Star Gazers, and instantly their lives changed.

But poor Sofia’s life didn’t quite end up a bed of roses. Unbeknownst to her, she’s married and given children to a man who a man as evil and twisted as those that took her. Fleeing to her brother in the UK the McGarry’s take her and her daughters under their protective wing. And that’s when she meets Xander.

At first, she is more than a little wary of him. But even that fear doesn’t mask the instinctive pull she feels towards him.

Xander feels the same intense need for Sofia… but he’s very aware of the fact that she’s the same age as his daughter, Kara. He’s at war with himself because he wants her so much, but is also worried about upsetting the family. There really is so much at stake.

But inevitably they can’t resist each other for long and Xander becomes just what Sofia needs to regain her confidence. Of course, the path of true love never runs smooth, and there’s certainly more than a few problems ahead. Twists, turns, betrayal… it’s all thrown at them.

I’ve loved this book with every turn of the page and it’s one of those series that is going to stick with me because I love all of Martina’s amazing characters like they are friends. You feel their emotions and get to know them in a way that keeps pulling you in.

I’m sincerely hoping this isn’t the last we see of the Star Gazers, because I don’t think I could ever have enough.

Thanks Martina for sending me a copy of your book to read and review

I actually can not believe this may be my last chance to read about this group of characters.

This follows Xander who is Lara's father and a lead role in the stargazers. He is the one that makes sure everyone else is okay, he fights the fights and makes sure that more people get saved and are protected. Through everything though Xander keeps his walls built up to protect him from heartache not allowing too many people especially women close enough.

Sofia is a women in despair. Her ex husband mentally and physically abused her for years and her only escape came when her brother met the McGarry's. Sofia has 2 young girls who are just adorable but she feels like a prisoner with a Xander as a keeper. All while they hunt down and protect her against her ex who is also into human trafficking opting to sell his girls to the highest bidder.

Xander never wanted a relationship but whilst inside he had a few special visitors who would fulfil his needs. One being his lawyer but when things end between them after her lieing to him, she can't let that rest and sets out to inflict herself in his life and cause him hurt all at the same time.

Xander can't help but fall for Sofia she just has this way about her that draws him in. She is kind, sensual and doesn't take his crap. When he sees her dancing in his house it stays in his park bank for a while before he gets the real thing.

These two are adorable and I just loved them. Having all the added bonuses of the Mcarrys and their partners just makes this books amazing. This is a story that helps to shine the light on domestic abuse, human trafficking and the fact that there is life after it.

Martina I can not wait to see what you do next.

Well I couldn't wait for Xanders story and what a story it was there was plenty of drama and angst and of course some serioulsy hot and steamy scenes.
Xander appears in the Moral compass series and I always felt like he was this mysterious bad/ good guy and as the Moral compass series unfolded so did they mystery of Xander Ford and now finally his story is out there.
I adore Sofia her background and the drama surrounding her family is just incredible.
When the passion explodes between Xander and Sofia it is lava hot 🔥 and even through the drama and fear and the reluctance to acknowledge feelings, the passion between them is just so intense that it can't be stopped.
I really loved the twist and turns in this book the drama was so well written you could feel the passion flowing from the pages. Martina Dale writes the kind of books that you can emerse yourself in the world she had created is full of drama, unexpected twists and passion that leave you wanting more from this incredible author .

After years spent in prison and working to help the victims escape horrible fates, Xander finally gets his own happy ending.

As the brooding, moody father to Kara, North’s love, we finally get to learn more about this hero. He had one love, his true love until he lost her. Now he has found someone who ignites something in him he thought was lost long ago. Reading his story, how he comes to realize it’s okay for him to love and accept love in return, creates a breathtaking story and love, acceptance and repentance.

Watching Sofia grow from someone who suffered through so much only to come out more determined, strong and more resilient made this book even better.

No two people deserved more of a happy ending then these two.

Martina Dale is an inspirational storyteller who effortlessly weaves together stories of the past with the story of the present to create a storyline that keep you immersed from start to finish.

This is my ARC review, book release day is on 14.4.23.♥️📖

📖📖 This is the 3th book in the Wounds series📖📖

I was really looking forward to read Xander, he was for me a really mysterious person from the beginning and I was curious to learn about him.

And Martina did not dissapointe us, he is an real Alpha man, who gets what he wants and is very protective of his daughter, he doesnt believe he can love anymore untol he meets Sofia.

I loved Sofia very much and altought she thinks she is very weak, in reality, she is one strong person and the great partner for Xander, but first they have long way ahead and few enemies to fight before they realise it and believe they can do a relationship together.

I did really enjoy this book and wish it was longer 😉, the epilogue was quite interesting and I expect really great stories.

This is my honest ARC review, many thanks to Martina.

What an end to this amazing, emotional series. Martina always makes sure we aren’t complacent with twists at every corner I was turning the pages well into the night.

Xander Forde has been in the background of Martina’s book since the moral compass series and now we finally get his story and he is everything I wanted and more in a grumpy older alpha male, he is stoic and unmoving a literal fortress and Sofia his much younger Ward has captivated him and when they finally give in it is electric but when Xander’s and Sofia’s past catches up with them they are thrown apart with deadly consequences.

Congratulations Martina on another amazing series I can’t believe it has come to an end but I know you have so much more to come oh to be in your head!

You're going to love this one!
We've already met Xander in previous books and he's nothing you've imagined!

And we've seen a glimpse of Sofia, but just wow.... what a power woman she is!
The things she's had to go through before coming to the UK and so much more!
Kara (North's girl) is Sofia's bestie and Xander's daughter which makes this very interesting.

Xander and Sofia... age gap perfect!
The sexy scenes are great! When Sofia's daughters call Xander Uncle Xander... hilarious!
And Sofia in the barn... OMG!!! Perfect!

Really loved reading this series, like the Moral Compass series.
You can read this book as a stand alone, but I highly recommend starting with West in the Moral Compass series and read every book after that as you get loads of cameos and banter.

Enjoy!

I swear the first moment Xander Forde popped up in the Moral Compass series, he had my heart. There's something so dark and mysterious about him, so much depth to his character. I was so freaking excited to finally read his story, and he definitely did NOT disappoint.

Was I in love with Xander Forde before? Yes. Am I now? Still all the yes, and beyond.

We learn so much about him in this book, but at the same time, that aura of mystery still surrounds him, and I like that. Hell, maybe it's just me projecting that onto him because it's hot AF.

Sofia is one lucky lucky lady, and I absolutely devoured this book. I feel like it's going to remain on my reread list with the rest forever.

This book made me feel every emotion I could possibly feel. In the beginning, I was not a fan of Xander but oh did that man grow on me. He went from a cocky man to a groveling man. Sofia was a strong beautiful woman. I felt her pain throughout the whole book. The fact that she didnt stay down but stood brave caused me to admire her. That twist was very unexpected not once was it hinted at or a clue dropped those are the best kind. I loved this but at the same time Im sad because this is the end of the series. I loved all of the couples but Im ready for the next journey Ms. Dale takes us through.

⭐⭐⭐⭐🌟
4.5/5

I received this from Hype Girls PA, in exchange for my honest opinion.

Xander has been locked up, most of his adult life. He’s finally released, and he wants nothing more than to build a relationship with his daughter.

Sophia flees to the UK to get away from her psychotic ex. She’s a single mother to two girls, Clarissa is five, and Camilla is four.

Xander and Sophia have both had their troubles in the past, so it was so amazing watching their story grow.

I really connected with Sophia, as I’ve had some of the similar life experiences. Seeing her get her own HEA made my heart soar!

Tropes included:
- age gap
- Single mom
- Single dad
- Billionaire
- Forbidden love
- Spicy
- Bodyguard
- Forced proximity

So let me start by saying we'd seen bits of Xander in previous books in this series and the moral compass series, too.
Now is his time to shine. He's abrasive, arrogant, bossy, and a whole lot of delicious.
My heart hurt for Sofia and her previous trauma. Don't get me wrong, sometimes I wanted to punch Xander. But we got there. Of course, there were a few twists and turns and heart-stopping moments. And so much dry banter and humour. I adore Martina’s writing and I'm so sad that this series is over. Hopefully these lot will show their faces in future books!

I’ve enjoyed all of Martina’s books, reading how the Star Gazers fought against people traffickers and bettered the lives of many in their own unique way! Xander appeared in earlier books and I wondered about his character and he did not disappoint. He’s a closed and scary book to most so seeing another side to him as he falls for Sofia, from the way he made her feel safe, to boosting her self confidence and making her feel desired and loved is great.

This is a great finale to the series and I look forward to Martina’s next project.

Xander and Sofia's story was a wonderful read! Xander is super protective, and kind of a bossy Alpha, but Sofia is a headstrong woman who does not let Xander control absolutely everything like he wishes. Soooo much SPICY steam! Which was absolutely hot! Plenty of twists and turns, and suspense kept me totally involved in the story. Character growth and development was phenomenal, and the writing was amazing. Such a great read!

Wow, what a read! This is Xander's story and is the third book in the healing wounds series. It's ohh so good. Its full of so much drama, angst and spice! We get glimpses of him in the prior books, but now everything comes out. His love for Sofia is endless and she is strong in her own right. I would highly recommend this book. I received an ARC copy.

Another great addition to this series.

Xander is arrogant, bossy and an all around delicious grump.

Sofia is so strong and just a little bit sassy, my heart hurt for everything she had been thorough.

Full of banter and the best dry humor, it's great being with inside this family.

It wouldn't be a Martina book without a few twist and turns.

This is the final book in this series and for me it’s the best!

Xander has been in the background throughout this series and Martina’s Moral Compass series, being part of the Star Gazers. He is seen as someone not to be messed with or to go up against. Sofia and her daughters have recently been rescued from a damaging relationship and are living with the McGarry clan.

Xander can be seen as a grumpy, older alpha male who meets is match in the strong, powerful and beautiful Sofia ( who has gone through so much in her young life).

As with the previous books in the series we get a strong story with lots of impactful drama and suspense as well as the spice that we have come to expect from Martina’s books.

Sofia and Xander’s story is one full of hope that there can be a HEA even when there has been adversity at every turn! This whole series is well worth a read, culminating in this beautiful story!

ARC Review:
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

SAVED 💫
Releases 14th April

This is the third & final installment of the Healing Wounds series which follows directly on from Moral Compass series and is the story of the great Xander Forde and Sofia. You meet both in previous books so I'd advise although you could read as a standalone that you do them in order to get the entire plot before hand to better understand their backstories.

Xander has always been a bit of a mystery. He's a growly alpha in previous books with nerves of steel so it was lovely to see his softer side shine through for Sofia. Did I want to punch him for a good chunk of the book? Of course. It wouldn't be Xander if you didn't. I loved that Sofia absolutely give it back in a way that noone else could, specially if you want to keep your legs 😆.

Really enjoyed all the cameos again from previous books & I'm sad this series has now come to an end. Hopefully we will see more from these stargazers in future stories. I'm not ready to say goodbye. 🥺

Xander is a man not to be messed with he has the power. However when Sofia is around he looses his mind. Kidnapping, steam, secrets and lies are what they have to deal with can they deal with it or has it got too much? What a great book yet again by Martina all the old characters are still in the book and involved love it

WOW.......WHAT A READ!!!!!

This is the 3rd and last book in The Healing Wounds Series. I would highly recommend you read them in order (Damaged and then Broken books 1 and 2)

In fact if you haven't read any of the books by Martina Dale I would say start with The Moral Compass Series. As the characters cross over, not a must do but I would personally.
Back to my review sorry I get carried away🤣🤣
This book is all about the illusive Xander Forde we have had snippets of him in the other books.
He's an arrogant A hole you can't help but love even though you would like to give him a slap, definitely a man
you would not want to get on the wrong side of, and relationships are a no go.
Sofia is a single mum that has been through so much, and deserves her HEA but nothing is ever straight forward. As we are taken on there journey with twists and turns and bumps in the road we don't see coming.
I totally lost my self in the pages of this book and story. I'm sad this is the end of the series but I cannot wait to see what Martina as in store for us next, I absolutely love how she writes and her ability to pull me in to the story so I lose myself from all the stresses of everyday life. Fantastic read that I would highly recommend. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ do not do it justice it is worthy of so much more.

I couldn't put this book down once I started getting into it. It took me a bit and I won't lie I kept going back and forth a bit ever so often just to make sure what I read was what I read...lol. This is a great book with an emotional roller-coaster while the characters get their acts together and stop fighting their own inner turmoil. Can't wait to read more books by Martina Dale. I am sure that I will go to the beginning of this series and start from beginning just to see if it helps this book be a bit easier to follow and get into. 4 OF 5 stars for my just because I had moments that it was really hard to stay focused on what was going on or wanting more than got.
