Professor Terry Marsden is a distinguished scholar in sustainability science and environmental policy. He founded the Sustainable Places Research Institute at Cardiff University in 2010, where he also held the Chair in Environmental Policy and Planning. Throughout his career, he contributed to shaping global and local sustainability policies, including Wales' Future Generations Act and EU food policy. A graduate of the University of Hull, Marsden joined Cardiff University in 1991, serving in key leadership roles. His expertise has influenced advisory boards and policy committees at the EU, UK, and devolved government levels. He retired in July 2020.
