Vicious Lost Boys #4

The Fae Princes

Rate this book
I thought Peter Pan was a myth and Neverland a fairytale. A story spun by my mother who had lost her mind a long time ago. But there was no denying the overwhelming shadow cast by Peter Pan when he was standing in my house. Pan took me captive to Neverland and I somehow found my place among him and the Lost Boys. I’ve never looked back. Now I’m entangled right alongside him in a war we can’t seem to escape. We thought we had defeated our enemies. We thought we could finally have our happily ever after. But there was one enemy we never saw coming. A fairy who has nothing to lose and everything to gain. The fairy with golden wings and a dark, twisted heart. She wants Neverland and she’ll stop at nothing to have it. Including destroying anyone who stands in her way, even her own flesh and blood. NOTE: The Fae Princes is a reimagining of Peter and Wendy. Characters have been aged up for this darker, grittier version. If you like your enemies to lovers romance with hot, ruthless, morally gray love interests, you’ll enjoy this series. You can expect hate kissing, fighting, bickering, and ‘touch her and I’ll unalive you’ vibes. The Fae Princes is the final book in the main storyline for the Vicious Lost Boys Series. It's finally time!!!! So excited for this twisty goodness! 💀

OK, I am just going to be real, there was a serious lack of DEBAUCHERY in this book!!! Where the hell was my slutty content, my twisted boys, where was the PASSION?!!

This book was all about Peter Pan basically having a midlife crisis and royal politics more than anything else. It was not what I expected at all, there was no tension and the relationship with Win was a secondary plot. I did like the ending, but it just left me kind of unsatisfied too. I still would rec this series bc it's fun and spicy but I wish the tone of this one would have matched the previous books more.

I enjoyed this, but it was probably my least favorite entry in the series. A lot of this felt like it was just a bridge between book 3 and the new spin-off series that Nikki St Crowe will begin. There was some closure, but, aside from the always entertaining dynamics between the characters and the high quality sex scenes, it just all came across as a bit incomplete. And that took away from the impact of this finale. But I was really happy to see that Roc was getting more air time in these future installments. He was a good character and, although it took me a lot of time to come around to such a reimagining of my favorite character from the JM Barrie stories, I’m optimistic of his future. I also really wished there were some clear callbacks and reminders of sorts for the previous entries. This just jumped right in and referenced a lot of prior events, but I felt myself struggling to remember certain things. But this was overall a good conclusion to a very ambitious and well designed reinvention of a classic.

I found the audiobook for this one on Libby and decided to listen to it ahead of what I had planned so I could finish out this series.

–––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––

This book follows Winnie Darling as our main female protagonist in the last novel in the main Peter Pan storyline. She had always thought Pan was a myth or a legend and never could have guessed that he was real.

Now she is tangled in a war with her men that she never saw coming. She thought they had defeated all of their enemies but now there's a fae that has already lost everything and has nothing else to lose. What more can Winnie do to defeat the fae once and for all?

–––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––

Dude, the ending made me tear up! I can't believe I'm so close to finishing out this series. I didn't realize there was a standalone novel for Roc and Hook so I'm going to be reading that as soon as I can get to it. I need to see Roc's ending for sure.

I'm so glad the harem got their HEA. I was looking forward to seeing how things panned out, especially for the twins. I wasn't expecting them to actually become kings of the Neverland fae court but I should have seen that coming a few miles away. lmao

I am also beyond relieved that Roc ended up helping Pan get the resolution he didn't even realize he so desperately needed. I'm glad Pan now believes he can stand on his own, both figuratively and literally.

I'm hoping Winnie will be happy with how things turned out in the future. I know that's a hella weird thing to say about a fictional book series but here we are. My heart hurts and it's killing me inside. lol

Yes, I'm recommending this series if you like reverse harems. I know this is a series that people either love or hate but it hit the mark for me. I thoroughly enjoyed it but that's just me. I love reverse harem novels and I think it's because I'm polyamorous in my personal life.

Fair warning.: This series must be read in order.

I must say, just as I was falling in love with all these characters, I can’t believe we’re saying goodbye to Winnie and her Lost Boys. Since this is the Conclusion to this series.

not everyone is happy for Peter Pan getting his shadow back………

Tilly tossed the fae throne into the lagoon as an offering, as a way to get an edge over Peter Pan and the boys. But now they are all suffering the consequences.

There was a lot going on in this installment, but At the same time, there wasn’t a enough going on, if that makes any sense. While this installment was not as spicy or action-packed as the prior installments, it did have a satisfying conclusion.

We might wanna buckle up and Get ready for the next book set in the Seven Isles world……… Roc, Hook, and a certain lost Darling girl are up next

I love VANE! LOVE HIM!! 💖💖💖

Tinker Bell. Oh Tinker Bell. I kind of hate you. You're the worst.. THE WORST

I loved reading this and I’m going to miss Neverland and our favorite characters Pan, Bash, Kas, Vane and Winnie Darling. I felt like the finale of this series just wasn’t as strong as it needed to be. Pan was a whinny bitch. Also, Roc……Who knew the Crocodile was so insightful?

ROC’S EPILOGUE! I cannot wait for “Devourer of Men”! Eeekkkk

Quotes:
“Peter was not quite like other boys; but he was afraid at last. A tremor ran through him, like a shudder passing over the sea; but on the sea one shudder follows another till there are hundreds of them…”

"I can feel it,” he says, a soft utterance, a quiet secret. “Feel what?” “Your love,” he says. “In my chest.” He kisses my cheek, lingering close. “I can feel your love like a million golden stars in the endless abyss that is me.”

I thought love was something you had to wait for, quietly, desperately, and that sometimes even when you waited, it would come to you in only pain.

I look around the room at the four men before me, on their knees. I love them, each of them, in my own way and they love me in turn. My vicious men. All of them, mine.

I can't wait to see what the cover looks like.

Second, I hope they do a Bookish or FairyLoot Exclusive Luxe Edition for this series.💕

(Review for the altogether series without spoilers!)

I used to have this on my tbr for sooooo long, and the only reason why i hadn’t picked it up yet was due to it’s small amount of pages. With an average of around 220 pages per book i was hesitant to pick this up. How could so much happen in such a small amount of pages, i used to think. The answer is A Lot.

Funny thing is, the reason why I picked it up last month was due to it’s small amount of pages. I was heavily slumping and i wanted something fast and not intimidating. And I’m so glad i picked this up!

It follows Winnie Darling, an ascended of Wendy, who basically gets kidnapped by Peter Pan because he thinks she might have something he has been searching for for generations.

Winnie eventually makes a home in Neverland, along with the twins Bash and Kas, and a mysterious Lost Boy who might have the opposite of what Pan is looking for.

The plot was so original, while also still having lots of references to the original story. I loved the little nudges to certain characters while also having their own personality, like Smee or Croc.

the chemistry is also so good, everyone has their own storyline with Winnie which is quite important as this is a RH and sometimes the characters all turn into one during a RH, luckily this wasn’t the case here. Vane was my absolute favourite with the twins, weirdly Pan would be last. But he also had a lot of shit to fix and deal with so i mean, i don’t fault him for it.

This book basically sets up the next story, as this storyline has finished but the next one has only just begun and i’m excited where it goes!

——————

this was an amazing ending to a series with a perfect set up for the next one about croc and hook. omg so ready for that one. anyway, rtc when I get my ass moving tomorrow

Spice: 🔥🔥🔥🔥

Nikki St Crowe you have ruined me with your writing! This masterpiece had so many different twist, turns and outcomes that I never expected. I was on the edge of my seat, biting my nails, near tears reading this. At one point I was on emotional overload.

This picks up right where book three left off and the plot and storyline just keeps you engaged and focused. Nothing could pull me away from reading this. I was entranced by every chapter, wishing I was part of the story. I was pleasantly surprised by the end of The Fae Princes. This one has less imitate moments and more character development than the other books in my opinion. I loved getting to see the characters grow and change.

I loved reading this and I’m going to miss Neverland and our favorite characters Pan, Bash, Kas, Vane and Winnie Darling. Also, Roc……Who knew the Crocodile was so insightful? I love the Roc and hope we get more in the future.

I received an advanced readers copy of The Fae Princes. This is my honest opinion and I wish I could share some more and my favorite quotes but no spoilers.

Happy Reading ✨

I loved this series so much.

I think books 2 and 3 were my favorite, but all of them were such quick and enjoyable reads for me.
I’ve seen people stopping the series at book 1, and I’d like to appeal to you. The series gets much better. Since this is the last book in the series (for now) I'll give more detailed opinions overall.

CHARACTERS

There's a bunch, so let's break it out a little shall we? The short story is that most of them are amazing. If you're like me and need more details, let me indulge you.

Winnie Darling

She's so satisfying to me. She's the perfect female lead. She's strong and knows what she wants, but she's not annoying about it. She's also vague enough to allow some self-insertion. This is a trick used in many romance novels (remember 50 Shades everyone?) but here it's actually done well. It's so tricky to do this and make it good instead of cringy. Self-insert doesn't mean be bland as hell. Be someone the reader would like to be. Winnie manages that brilliantly.

Bash and Kaz

I'll put the twins in the same section because they're always together. One doesn't exist without the other. They share everything. You get it.
Their appearance is pretty limited, especially in this book. I understand we needed space to introduce Hook and the Crocodile.
I love these two. They were part of one of my favorite scenes EVER in THe Dark One. Let's just say they're the Mary Sue of this one.

Vane

Vane is easily my favorite boy. I'm not ashamed to admit it.

He has no business being this hot. He has no business living in my mind rent-free. I love him but I wish he would be more of a plot point. I feel like I'm missing scenes with him (and he's the one with more screen time).
I could've used a couple of scenes that take his character into more depth, but that's true for every character really.
We see glimpses of things that aren't explored enough. Jealousy, revenge, etc.
I just want more ok?

Secondary characters

They're secondary xD
They need to be there, but I don't really care.
I HATE fucking Cherry. What a whiny little bitch. I'm indifferent to Tilly and the rest of the fae court. The lost boys are like white noise.

Writing

The writing is brilliant. It's simple but intricate. Not overly descriptive, with some gorgeous imagery and just beautiful sentences. Very well done I think. Easy to read. That's why you can't read 100,000 pages no problem.

Pace

Perfect. I said it before, it's like crack. I recommend reading alongside the audiobooks because WOW. I love myself some manly voices. If you're like me, get the audiobooks. (I used the ones on SCRIBD and the ebook on Kindle Unlimited.)

Setting

We all know Neverland. We all have one version in our heads, and so when they're walking around, mentioning settings, you don't need much information to picture it perfectly.
Still, It'd be nice to get to know this version a bit more. I know there will be a spin-off for Hook, so we'll explore the world more there.
We all know I didn't read these books for the setting descriptions. Still, I can see how a couple of paragraphs here and there would've made for a rounder world.
Can you tell I wanted this series to be longer?

Steam

Is this series steamy? Yes.
A lot? Yes.
Is it too much? I guess it depends on who you ask. It's not too much for me. I found the steamy scenes creative. It's hard not to fall into repetitiveness with a steamy series, but this one doesn't have that problem. It's perfect.
*Chef's kiss*

Overall

It's so worth it guys. It's everything a steamy retelling should be.
If I have one complain, it's they can be longer. You can tell that by now already. I just want more.
I feel like there could be so much more to be said and I’m pretty sure the author will realize that too at some point, so I’m not too worried.

I'm glad that this book wrapped up the storyline because I don't think I could have read any more. The conclusion was fine and I'm glad we got to see this found family end on a good note. However, that's all the good I have to say. Everything else ...

I was bored while reading this. The twins want their wings, Vane and Winnie have their own relationship going on, and Pan seemed like a watered down version of himself. They really didn't seem like they meshed together if that makes sense. I wanted more scenes between all five of the characters.

This is spinning off to be about Roc, Hook, and the past darling. I don't do MMF, so my journey ends here thank goodness.

Brilliant end to a wildly entertaining series.

Oddly enough, it gets *less* smuttier as you go through it. That isn’t actually a bad thing, though, since it’s led by more fulsome worldbuilding.

In the end, like Winnie Darling, I’m left satisfied

While this, like the other three books, left me wanting MORE from the story and from our favorite fivesome, I did love this conclusion to the main storyline. And keeping with the theme of wanting more, ROC’S EPILOGUE! I cannot wait from Devourer of Men. Eep!

But for the the current book in question, we start right where we left off last, with Tink alive and well, and Peter Pan shocked and horrified. They’re all invited to a ball at the palace, and Bash and Kas are teased with being welcomed back into the royal fold, as well as having their coveted wings returned to them.

We have more glimpses into the shadow that Winnie and Vane share, although to me it seemed like their relationship went backwards a step? Maybe it was just my perception, but I didn’t love that. To me this was a little less about feelings and more about the end result of them all being together, but the sweetest little glimpse of Vane and Winnie had me melting. And then it was over just like that.

Anywho, lots of grappling for power and influence, a smidge in the way of sexy scenes (but this is a really quick book after all) and a pretty cool origin story if you ask me…I felt like it was a great ending! It could have been about 100 pages longer and I would have loved it even more.

underwhelming. not only did i have to read phrases like “side-eye” and “nepo baby,” but 78% of the book is just mind numbing boringness, with the actual plot being only like 2 pages. a disappointing ending for this series, and not even ”daddy vane” could save this.

I rarely do half ratings but this book is an instance that I wish they were a thing on Goodreads. I was not a fan of this book but I liked how everything worked out. *spoilers ahead*

🌶-1.5, the two scenes are mediocre and just couldn't compete with the other books

Tropes:
- Reverse Harem
- Flashbacks
- Touch her and you die
- Dark secrets

The characters, 3/10. Throughout the series I always thought Winnie didn't have much of a personality. I think in this book she had a tad bit more of one, which was nice. She's learned that she will truly do anything to protect the men that she loves. Other than that, I really didn't like any of the other boys (which is weird because the twins have always been my favorite). Peter Pan is going through an existential crisis 99% of the book, Vane is barely seen and the twins' parts are just the same thing reworded twenty different times.

Roc was more of a key player in this book and I thought it was interesting when he was around. Overall, it just felt like there was something missing. The story felt a little rushed, and incomplete, and relied way too much on descriptions instead of dialogue. I did almost DNF this book, and I would have if I didn't want to know how their stories ended--I ended up skimming for the dialogue parts, which weren't much.

The plot, 2.5/10. This one was tricky for me. I didn't enjoy the first half of the book as much as I enjoyed the last half of the book. I thought it was just redundant to have the entire group prepare to go to the ball for multiple chapters just to have very close to nothing happen. Yes, they went . It would have been nice if there was a concrete point in why everything had to happen, instead of just reading nothing for 80% of the book. It's like nothing happened with a shit ton of stuff happening at the same time.

I will say, I did start to enjoy the book at the end. I loved how everything worked out for everyone and the very last chapter is adorable.

The spice, 1.5/5. I've added a new part to this review because I am upset. The other books were fantastic with their spice. I started reading them for the spice, actually. There was nothing in this book. I was very disappointed. This was my introduction to reverse harems and I thought the scenes were going to be as frequent and juicy as the others, but I was wrong. The first scene was quick and was nothing to me. The second was a little better but still just didn't quite reach the others.

The pace, -/10. I honestly don't think I can give a rating on the pace. I just think the execution of the book could have been better with things actually happening throughout the story. It feels like this book was just a rushed job to give Kash and Bash a book when it wasn't super needed.

I am glad I finished the series, but there's a very good chance I will not be continuing to the next.

Overall series rating, 2.3 stars.

I only read this book purely to finish the series as I read the first 3 last year, and I was a bit disappointed with it! I felt the same about this book as well
I think if you’re going to write fantasy, you can’t write 200 page novellas 😅 they need to be full length novels, and that’s where these books go wrong in my opinion, the world building was already terrible, and they just feel so rushed & unpolished.
The storyline itself is actually good (had it been for fleshed out) I love the dark spicy Peter Pan retelling, but this book felt just as disjointed as the first 3 🙁 2.5 stars but an extra .5 for Vane cos he’s great 😮‍💨

I appreciated the resolution. I think in books 3 and 4 it was just a lot of problems kept happening back to back without a single day of rest or joy in between and by the start of book 4 I just wanted to hurry up and get to the happy ending already! It hit a high not for me on book 2. But overall I really enjoyed the series. The spice was good, the found family, the twisted Peter Pan aspect was done very well. I would recommend this series! All 4 books are a quick and easy reads!

While Peter Pan is elated to have his shadow back, not everyone is happy for him. And that means there is no time to kick back with Darling and a glass of fairy wine.

The Fae Princes is about destinies fulfilled, found family, and a hard fought happily ever after. While not as spicy or action-packed as the prior installments, it was a satisfying conclusion.

For this book? 4⭐️ also for the series. I didn't have a lot of hope for this series, but as it has progressed, I have found I've fell in love with these characters. Each has such an individual personality, it's hard not to be drawn to this very unique found family. This book wraps up our time with Winnie and the boys in a soul soothing way that I didn't expect.

Well, this was quite an underwhelming end to an amazing series. I don't why but I am not satisfied with it and how the things unfolded in this final book. I was... maybe expecting more considering how the mystery about Pan's existence was constructed throughout the series. He's a myth. He's a legend. He's a god and I am satisfied with his story and how it ended with the lost boys and Vane and Winnie. But Tink who started all this mess was resurrected in this book and she was back to get revenge on Peter Pan and I did not liked how everything about that was handled. There were no loop holes, but it just didn't hit how I thought it would. Everyone was happy and the bad fairy is dead so, I guess it's a happily ever after for Winnie and her Vicious boys. And we finally got the smut scene with all the Vicious boys and Darling girl and damn it was freaking hot 🤌🏻🔥

I am so excited for Roc's book! Nikki said she's going to write more stories set in the same dark world of Seven Isles and I desperately want Roc and Hook's book with the lost Darling girl. I just want Hook and Roc to bang and get us out of this misery.

“Because there is one thing troubling me most of all: I am excited to find Wendy, yes, but there is one person I am more excited to see.

oof, what happened to me? I'm kinda glad this is the final book of series because I was done by the half way point. Then, it picked up in the end there but by then, I was honestly done.

I don't know where it went wrong but this finale just gave me a big eh. The spark I found in the first two books was absent in this one. Maybe the climatic fight, the pinnacle of all plot, didn't really won me over. Maybe it was the poorly placed ménage scene, where I felt cheaply done just to fill that poly quota. I just can't place it.

However, with that said, I do still it's a solid series, a unique reimagining of the Lost Boys of Neverland. That and one of my favourite depictions of polyamory. Mind that I rarely read poly stuffs. So yeah, great setups but slightly disappointing climax.

4✨ a stunning conclusion i couldn’t have seen coming and loved so much

the way the plot continued and played out was absolutely incredible. i loved it so much. all the twists & turns, the lies & betrayal, the love & loyalty. honestly amazing and so well done. i also supremely love and adore and cherish getting this group play. it was everything i wanted. i just these 5 so much and who & what they mean to each other and how much they love and look out for one another.

i actually fucking love roc. he’s lowkey amazing and kind??? i think his character just adds SO much and it makes me stupid excited for devourer of men.

the ending…!!! omg. i did not see that coming and i thought it was fucking incredible. it took the entire plot of this entire story, over the course of 800+ pages and completely changed everything about the premise of it. but it was so damn good. so unique, so interesting. and the way literally everyone, pan, vane, the twins, winnie, even balder, roc and tillie, came together was spectacular. such an enjoyable series. full of smut but with an honestly intriguing plot. i love it.

“I can feel your love like a million golden stars in the endless abyss that is me.”
