Listened to this as an audiobook.
Child prodigy Colin Singleton has just finished high school and has simultaneously been dumped by his girlfriend Katherine (the 19th girl he has dated - all called Katherine). In fact Colin has been dumped by all 19 Katherines, a fact that is really starting to get him down. To take Colin's mind off his woes, his friend Hassan suggests a road trip, which is how they end up in a small town in Tennessee, called Gutshot, taken in by the Wells family. There is a lot of geeky stuff in this book (typical John Green), but both Colin and Hassan are pretty sweet underneath and both go on quite a journey throughout the book. Lots of snappy and funny dialogue (also typical John Green), and this is an enjoyable read.

What I loved most was how the book digs into patterns in life, like Colin’s obsession with predicting the end of every relationship. It’s kind of hilarious, but also kind of relatable, because we all try to make sense of things we can’t really control. The road trip with Hassan and the little adventures along the way are fun and feel real, and the book has these quiet moments where you actually stop and think about growing up and figuring yourself out. The story isn’t super intense, and some parts feel a bit all over the place, but that’s kind of part of its charm.

If you like to combine mathematics and reading then this is the right book for you. Over all would not reccomend to take it for "homereading" (I have to admit I did not get bad grades with that). It jumps between different timelines all through out the book but it is not so hard to keep a track actually.
