My morning time with my God by reading other's comments. The day is just not right if I cannot start the day reading these believers thoughts and experiences. I appreciate the bios at the end of the year, they reinforce their respective daily devotionals. My thanks to all those who share their views and they make me a better, growing Christian. I have been reading this daily devotional since they began publishing it. While it still has good stories I find it is often used to promote authors and books they have written. I used to read the bios in the back and think they were people like me. Now all the authors tend to be professional writers and it feels like they have lost touch with the common person.
Anything that makes me meditate on God and puts me in the scripture is good, but these devotions this year just weren’t hitting well for me except for 2-3 writers that always brought a strong message. Actually supplemented my devotional readings this year for more because if it.
Reading Daily Guideposts is a thoughtful way to begin the day. It allows me to take pause and reflect before delving into the day's activities, challenges, and obligations. It also encourages me to practice gratitude each day.
This is a wonderful devotional resource, filled with relatable stories and incidents in the lives of the writers. Some are thought-provoking, some humorous, and some nostalgic. The writers seem like old friends.
I read this devotional every year, a friend gave me one years ago and I love it. I order a year one for each new year. I look forward to them each January.
I enjoyed this devotional with scripture reading as well as wonderful insight into the scripture with different writer's perspective and life experiences.
What I read was excellent; honestly though, I got caught up in a tangle of reading too many books at the same time and had to let some things go. I am already reading several different devotionals, so I stopped this one. A shame, because it was a gift from a friend and I was looking forward to it. Actually, I guess I could read it next year, same number of days (I think), everything is the same as this year, only the year and the day of the week would be different. Food for thought ...
