Neil Turner is the author of the gripping and highly-acclaimed Tony Valenti Thrillers series. If you like underdogs battling for survival—John Lescroart’s Dismas Hardy, Greg Iles’s Penn Cage, Michael Connelly’s Micky Haller, or John Grisham’s Jake Brigance—it’s time to start reading Tony Valenti.
I have now read all seven books in the Tony Valentine's series. This one is far the best. It leaves readers begging for me. What will happen next to Tony and his side kicks. You will be gripping this book until the very last page. Enjoy!!
Great story. Spellbinding. It just flows by and carries you with it. Just one complaint: y'all is plural of you. I live in the south and have never heard it used to a single person only to groups. It A common word but not as the author used it. He needs more research on regions he isn't familiar with.
As much as I wanted to get to the conclusion, I didn’t want it to be over. #7 is the last of an awesome series and I can’t wait for another installment. I believe that an it can & should go on. 😘
Canadian author Neil Turner has served in the finance and banking industries and now comfortably settles into his passion for writing. This past year he has successfully entered the popular genre of mystery thrillers with his series of seven novels in his Tony Valenti Thrillers series – A HOUSE ON LIBERTY STREET, PLANE IN THE LAKE, A CASE OF BETRAYAL, A TIME FOR RECKONING, SCARED SILENT, THE SECRETS SHE BURIED, and now NOWHERE TO HIDE.
Neil has created such a central character with whom readers can associate and wish to follow - Tony Valenti, a once successful corporate lawyer whose falling from grace allows him to take on downtrodden clients as a freelance defense attorney. He continues to establish fascinating cases for Valenti and polishes yet another well crafted story summarized as follows: ‘Tony battles to save his girlfriend’s recently orphaned nephew from the jaws of injustice. Will fifteen-year-old Kevin Tyler be ripped away from the only home he’s ever known? The ensuing legal battle sets the courts of Texas and the Canadian province of Alberta on a collision course. Tony and his partners are up against the Texas Tylers, who have money, connections, and what appears to be an idyllic home in a gated community. But all is not as it seems. The increasingly vicious fight over Kevin’s future escalates, threatening to explode into an international incident. When a desperate Kevin takes matters into his own hands, he unwittingly sets off a life-and-death struggle no one saw coming. With danger threatening from all sides, Tony scrambles desperately to rescue Kevin before it’s too late.’
Neil’s casual, conversational style of writing underscores the shockers Tony Valenti faces and the language and pacing of the story excels in capturing committed attention to the final satisfying page. With this seventh volume, Neil Turner proves his growth and durability as one of today’s significant mystery authors. Highly recommended.
I received an ARC and I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
This story begins with Kevin Tyler, Pat's nephew, being advised that his parents have been killed in an accident. It continues with a Canadian judge , where Kevin lives, deciding who should ne his gaurdian since he is under age. His parents' will identified his Aunt Pat and Uncle Timothy as joint guardians. Neither Pat or Timothy were Canadian citizens. Pat lived in Chicago and Timothy in Dallas. Because of Timothy's review, it was decided that Kevin would assign Timothy as an interim guardian and then laid out specific rules that must be followed.
The story continues with Tyler's life that he was living in Dallas. Timothy's wife was very controlling and completely ignored the rules that were laid down. She almost entirely refused to allow Pat to see Tyler. After Pat's visit along with Tony that was made to Dallas. The wife decide that she was going to have the Texas courts give her family complete guardianship and then she severely made changes to Tyler's arrangements, taking his phone, cutting off his internet access and others. This did not go well and Pat along with Tony went to Canada once again to notify the judge of what was happening. The judge then sent a notice to the Texas court to return Tyler to Canada. This was completely ignored.
Tyler not wanting to stay ran away and was going to make his way to his Aunt Pat. The family then contacted the police and provide a false story.
To discover what purpose the Timothy's wife had, what steps Tyler took to get to Chicago, what happened while he was in Chicago and how the story finished, then you need to read this book.
an emotional and compassionate book, highly recommend
Ok, I made some critical remarks about Pat in book 6. I have to walk back some of my negative comments about her. I have to admire Pat because she was willing to uproot her life, home and career for her nephew. This book kept me in tears, whether it was sad or happy. My heart was so sad for Kevin. He experienced so much grief, suffering and pain in such a short period of his life. Great book, well written, great storyline and great connections and friendships. I love how Tony friends stand with him when he needs him. Kudos to Pat and Britts for sacrificing their freedom to help Kevin. I love the Canadian court scenario and Judge Singh was the truth in that courtroom.
I have enjoyed all of the previous six Tony Valenti stories, but this one is the best. Pat's sister and brother in law are killed in a traffic accident leaving their only child, Kevin, an orphan. They lived in Canada, but the courts have awarded custody to Kevin's uncle and his wife in Texas. Pat is Tony's girlfriend. She is heart broken as the judge decided to send Kevin to a married couple..
Nowhere to Hide is the seventh book in The Tony Valenti Thrillers series. This suspenseful read depicts a cross-border battle that brings danger and drama to Tony's world. I was immersed in this book from the first page to the last. I am looking forward to see what Tony gets up to in the next book. I read and reviewed this book with no obligation.
I won’t finish this book, too political. I have a close relative living in Texas, another one in Chicago, and my dad’s family is from Canada. You have it so wrong. I’m done with Neil Turner.

I have read all of this author's books and I can say that this is another interesting story. All the usual characters, along with a new one. This being a young male, whose life changes overnight and how he gets it back on track.
