I wanted SO badly to like this collection. Alt-universe plus bronze age civilizations? Um... yes please. Sadly the execution in these stories is sadly lacking. I skipped more then I read, and I'm not looking forward to going back to the collection at all. Perhaps I'll miss some hidden gem found in later chapters, but I will take that risk and mark this one as DNF.

An excellent anthology of stories of alternative history. Egypt never fades.
