Accepting a nanny position seemed like a good way to escape my past. To prove I’d changed.
I never counted on Sam, my new boss. He’s trying to run his family’s contracting business and raise his daughter by himself. I want to ignore my attraction to him, but it’s impossible with us living in the same house. Maybe I haven’t come as far as I thought.
Until a midnight encounter changes everything. I discover he’s protective, caring, and his concern for me is the sexiest thing about him. But he’s also dangerous because he makes me think that anything’s possible. Even a future with him and Maggie.
Can I take a gamble with him and hope my past doesn’t catch up with the future I’m racing towards?

When we first meet Alice she seems like the evil one and I wasn't really a fan of her's but now reading this I have a better understanding. Alice had an abusive childhood and was jealous of her older sister. Sam is a single dad because the one he had a kid with wants nothing to do with them until one day she comes back and has crazy demands. I don't want to give away too much about this book. I will say that this was more about believing in yourself and knowing your worth. That's all a lesson that we need at some point in our lives.
This is the story of Sam and Alice, a single dad and nanny trope. We met Alice in the first story in this series and she was VERY unlikeable and terrible to her sister, Elle. I was wondering how she could be redeemed. Sam is a single dad to a young daughter and works in the family construction business. He is a pretty good guy whose sole focus is on his daughter at the expense of being more available to the family business which is why he needs a nanny.
After an abusive childhood and teen years full of jealousy of her older sister, Alice is a mess. She makes mistakes, is hurt and ultimately gives up everything she thought she wanted to move to Telluride and nanny for Elle. After all the hurt she brought to Elle she can’t forgive herself even though Elle has forgiven her and wants to help her move forward. Sam and Elle work hard to try to get Alice to see the good in herself that they see. She hasn’t believed Elle for the past four years but Sam has better luck.
Sam is a good looking and talented man who works with his family and wants to make more of a contribution but doesn’t feel he can. He had a child with a woman who doesn’t want to be in either of their lives. When she comes back and demands that Sam get rid of Alice, Sam has to make some tough choices. (Alice learns her worth during this time and Sam has some groveling to do.)
This is a story about forgiveness, belief in yourself, taking risks and knowing your worth. Sam encourages Alice to see the good in herself that he sees with the love she brings to his daughter and to him. He also encourages her to plan for her future by following her passion – making mosaics. Alice encourages Sam to fight for his future in the family business. She also gives him the stability of a loving home for his daughter and as he watches her blossom, he begins to open up too. As he learns what a secure and loving home looks like, he opens up and opens up his heart to more.
Their relationship is sweet with a good dose of heat too. The scene stealer for me was Maggie who is a sweetheart that has all the adults in her life wrapped around her little finger. I just loved this story and was sad when it ended. It was a feel good story that I wanted to keep reading. While this is book 4 in the series, it is a stand alone but do yourself the favor of reading the others. You won’t be sorry!
One of a series of books set in Telluride, this romance can be read as a standalone. Enough history and context is provided that this reads well on its own.
Alice has been living a quiet life in Telluride with her sister and brother-in-law. Raised by disinterested parents and having made some very hurtful choices in her past, she has worked on her self-esteem, growing up and learning to value the right things in life. Living a fairly secluded life, when she gets the opportunity to work as a nanny for a local contractor, she takes the chance so that she can begin to build some savings and a life of her own, outside of her sister's home. She's ready to take responsibility for herself and her actions.
Sam is desperate for consistent, loving care for his young daughter Maggie. Seeing how Alice interacts with Maggie, he decides to take a chance and hires her. The relationships between Alice, himself and Maggie are more than he could have hoped for. He finds Alice attractive and intriguing. He's torn between getting to know her better and keeping a professional distance so that the best nanny he's ever had doesn't leave. A late-night encounter leads to something more than a professional relationship. Both he and Alice are reluctant to get involved, but Alice's newly found independent streak, her creativity and the way she loves his daughter is everything Sam wants in a partner. Alice finds Sam to be loving and protective. While she wants to stand on her own two feet, Sam is a very attractive addition to her life.
Of course our couple faces hurdles as their relationship develops. However, their commitment not only to each other but to Maggie's wellbeing will help them find their happily ever after. This is a lovely small-town romance, with Alice overcoming an emotionally abusive past and blossoming into a self-sufficient and interesting adult. If you've read other books in the series, we see Alice in an entirely new light.
Four stars for this small-town romance.
This is an honest, voluntary review of an ARC of the story.
Tempting Love by Lea Coll, book four in the Mountain Haven series, takes the reader back to Telluride and to a grown up Alice as she comes into herself, finding out who she could be; especially with the help, love, and encouragement from Sam, Maggie, Elle, and Gray. This becomes the perfect redemption story for her. It also allowed and encouraged Sam to stand up for what he wanted for his future. This is an amazing small town, single dad story that should not be missed.
After a lot of soul-searching, maturing, and Alice realizes she has no idea what she truly wants to do with her life. With her niece ready to attend preschool, Alice takes a job as a live-in nanny for Sam, a single dad. This should give her time to do some soul searching and a chance to figure out her future. For Alice, her journey to finding herself has proven that she’s worth a lot more than she’s told herself. The real question is whether or not Sam recognizes that before it’s too late. From the moment Alice moved into Sam’s house, the chemistry between them sizzled and sparked until it slowly perfected into something really beautiful by the end. Between Alice finding herself, Sam finding her and then finding his way to demanding what he’s worth in life, and the happy life they’re clearly building together, this is an excellent tale of redemption and growth.
Full of love, passion, devotion, and forgiveness, this book will grab your heart early on and not let go until the last page is turned. In addition to a number of secrets from the past were revealed neatly tying up a few mysteries, there is a wonderful crossover, tie-in, to some of our favorite folks in Maryland, from the Second Chance Harbor series; as Alice sent her art to be sold at Savannah’s store. I highly recommend Tempting You to other readers.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
Sweet journey to love, slow burn with plenty of heat Tempting Love (Mountain Haven Book 4) by Lea Coll is as much a journey to redemption and self forgiveness as it is a single dad/nanny love story. Alice has been at a standstill for several years now and full of guilt that stunts her emotionally. This character, originally introduced in the first book of the series, seemed more villain than potential love interest. But once again, the mountains surrounding Telluride are nurturing and healing for the lost soul Alice feels like. A shell of herself that finds peace, solace and joy in taking care of children, namely her niece and then Maggie. The other main character, Sam, has plenty of baggage that has held him back from really pursuing what he desires most for himself and his daughter. As the proximity situation of live in nanny provides an opportunity to learn about one another, it leads to a supportive friendship that paves the way to taking a chance on chemistry exploration. With the majority of angst comes within Alice, she manages to heal with Sam’s help. An outside influence of angst is the most threatening and only Sam can prevent the damage. It becomes a bit of will he, won’t he take control while Alice is left to wonder where she stands when all is said and done. Overall, this love story isn’t all smooth sailing, but it is a journey of growth in love and happiness. Not only do Sam, Alice and Maggie ultimately have a promising future as a family, but Sam and Alice both embark on personal career paths that promise a fulfilling life. This mountain haven once again provides just what is needed. I read an ARC of this book and voluntarily share my review.
Tempting Love is book four in Ms. Coll's Mountain Haven series and it is beautifully written, captivating and has you wanting to move to Telluride. This book is a stranger-to-lovers, single dad, nanny/employer romance that sees two people fighting the attraction but no matter what they do the pull is too strong.
In this book, we find Alice, who we have met before, who has changed in so many ways from the girl we were introduced to before. She went from being a spoiled, attention-seeking girl to a woman that has become someone who loves and cares for others. When the opportunity presents itself, Alice decides that maybe being a nanny is something that she enjoys. Meeting single dad Sam, who is handsome, easy to get along with and is dedicated to his daughter, Maggie, has her feeling things she has not had in a long time. Her past has her hesitant in trying and trusting men but is willing to give Sam a chance. Sam is trying to raise Maggie on his own and helo run his family's business, he is desperate for help. When Alice walks in and has an instant connection with Maggie, he knew she was the right one. The only problem is that he is attracted to her and tries to fight it. The time they spend together sees sparks ignite and feelings come to the surface. Past heartaches and betrayals are shared and we see Sam being a man that is caring and supportive of someone outside of his family. The two of them have a connection that is one that is hard to break. I loved the relationship between Sam, Alice and Maggie. Right from the start the three of them acted like a family. This story was emotional and such a joy to read. Ms. Coll always delivers a book that you want to read over and over and Tempting Love is just one of those books.
Another amazing read by Lea Coll. Her books just keep getting better and better. Her characters are the kind f men you want for your own and her female characters are just as strong. Sam and Alice were the perfect pair. Sam is a single dad who always puts his daughter first. Finding the perfect nanny is his number one priority. Someone to take care of his daughter and not just be a babysitter. From the moment Alice met Maggie Sam knew she was the perfect one. When she first met Maggie she immediately got down on the floor with Maggie and started playing with her. It was as though they had an instant connection. What Sam didn’t plan on was his attraction to Alice. He knew he had to control his attraction because of Maggie. What developed between all three, yes all three, was a family. Alice treated Maggie as she was her own. Always put her first. Alice was also trying to move on from her past. A past she was not proud of. Something she carried around with her and not forgiven herself for. She too was fighting her attraction to Sam. She could not afford to lose her job and place to live. Living with Sam and Maggie Alice began to open up more. Sam helped her to see her potential and helped her to make her dreams come true. He gave her the encouragement, support and love she never received from her parents. Living with Sam and Maggie, Alice felt part of a family, something she never felt before. She may have been hired as a nanny but what she found was a family. Sam hired her for his daughter but it resulted in the family he and Maggie were missing. Tempting Love is a beautiful love story you not be able to put down. Looking forward to Mac and then Tyler’s stories.
Lea has done it again! She has written a book that warms my heart and leaves with me a smile. The two main characters Alice and Sam have hearts that are wary of love and relationships after being burned by an ex. Neither is expecting love to be the result of Sam hiring Alice to be his daughter’s live-in nanny. This book is more than just a romance. It is also a study in relationships, especially between siblings (Alice and her sister or Sam and his brothers), and parents and their children (Sam and young Maggie or Sam and his Dad).
Sam notices the sparks Alice sets off deep within him when he first meets her, but he is intent on ignoring them because she has an easy rapport with his daughter. At first, Alice does her best to avoid Sam whenever possible while he is at home, though he slowly persuades her to join him and his daughter until young Maggie’s bedtime. Over time he gets glimpses of a more carefree woman rather than the usual serious and reserved side she shows him most of the time. Sam has no idea that she is still wrestling with demons from her past that have left her feeling ashamed and in need of redemption. An incident heightens their awareness of each other and despite agreeing that they are just friends, their relationship does take a more intimate turn. Their relationship helps Alice to begin shedding her demons and begin to blossom. Both still have doubts and trust issues, so letting young Maggie know they are involved is not going to happen until they are sure about their relationship lasting. Of course that doesn’t stop others from weighing in on the matter. Will they find their way to a happily ever after or more heartbreak and disappointment?
Yet again, I leave my heart in Mountain Haven, as Lea Coll delivered another enchanting, moving romantic masterpiece, this author always delivers characters with dept, and the storylines are so believable that you feel a connection not only with the town but the people that live there, book four in the series and I am as enchanted with the series as I was with the first.
Tempting Love is a single dad romance and right away you will forge a bond with Sam and his young daughter Maggie, who is his world, her mom isn't really in the picture as she choice the city to full fill her ambitions, we have meet Alice before and her back story is not one that would have endeared her to you but that is way in the past and she has done everything she can to right those wrongs and find her place in life looking after her sisters young daughter but now it is time for a move and a new nanny job, the moment she meets Maggie the couple instantly bond and Sam could not wish for a better woman to in trust his most prized position with, the young couple try to steer clear of the feelings that instantly ignited but the heart wants what the heart wants, of course it wouldn't be a Ms Coll story without a couple of stumbling blocks, Sam has some issues of his own as although he loves being part of the family business there are things he wold like try to enhance, and again with this author seeing Sam finally have the courage to go after what he wants in his personal and work life made this an even more compelling must-read.
I'll start this review by saying I’m not sure I loved Sam all that much. He was a standup guy, raising his daughter on his own, but when it came to Alice and the way a few things played out in this book, I'm not a huge fan. But I digress; Alice is trying hard to build her life after experiencing what fame and fortune entitle. She's been hiding long enough and it’s time to spread her wings a bit. Enter Sam and his adorable little girl.
I loved the interactions between them as a family. It's due to this reason, I have problems with Sam. The minute problems appeared in the form of his ex, he closed-up and let her go even if it were for a few days. But in those days, she was doing new things in which he didn’t participate despite her reaching out. To tell you the truth I don’t think he deserved the love she gave him so freely. But I can say I do think when he finally came to his senses, he was doing all he could think of to make sure, she knows just how special she is to him and his little girl.
Overall I did enjoy this story despite a few bones I picked with Sam. Now after reading the epilogue, I can say I’m excited to see how Lady Love will move with Mac and Natalie as our MCs.

This is Sam and Alice's story, a single-dad nanny story, but also a story of the redemptive power of love. I love stories where you can see growth and changes in the characters in the story and you most definitely see that with Alice throughout this story. When she first arrived on the scene, she was angry and while not necessarily looking to hurt people, that's what she was doing. She was hateful and manipulative at times and it came because she was hurting, but it did not make it right. She has treated her sister, Elle, badly, and while Elle understands why, she has been unable to make Alice see that she has worth on her own.
Alice comes to work and live with Sam to help him care for his daughter. Slowly, he helps her to see that she has worth beyond just what her roles are. Just as he is starting to build her back up, his ex comes back and tells him that he needs to get rid of Alice. He has to make a choice and he doesn't always make the right choice. But since he helped Alice to see her worth, she stands up for herself and he is forced to make amends for those choices. Sam shows Alice how worthy she is of love because of the love she gives to him and the care and love that she gives to his daughter. He shows her that it just came naturally to her so she must not be as broken as she thought.
With book 4 of the Mountain Haven series we are back in Telluride and catching up with Alice, who has matured since we first met her in book one with her sister Elle. Alice feels she has been living with her sister, brother-in-law and niece for long enough and decides that she needs to fly the nest. So she takes a job as a live in nanny to the adorable Maggie. The hard part of this arrangement is trying to ignore the feelings she has for the Maggie's very handsome, kind, and protective father! But after what happened to her in California, she is vulnerable and scared of letting someone in and trusting them with her heart. But Sam is caring, supportive of Alice's mosaic business and soon she feels the walls come down, but as Sam doesn't want his daughter to know about the new relationship, Alice feels like his dirty little secret. And she will never be treated like that again! So when Maggie's mom comes to town for a visit, things take a turn and Alice has to decide what she is going to put up with in a relationship. This book is so much fun, the relationship between Maggie and Alice is adorable and the heat between Sam and Alice is combustible. Although this can be read as a standalone, the series is so good that you will want to read it all. Love it.
Tempting Love is an excellent read from a favored author and the next book in her all-new Mountain Haven series set in Telluride, Colorado. I’m a fan of Lea Coll’s writing, so I feel like I say the same things over and over, but something about it continues to resonate with me. She consistently delivers a cast of well-written and developed characters who are easy to connect with, making her stories that much richer for this reader.
I’ve wondered about Alice since she was introduced in Infamous Love and was curious if we’d see her again. I’m glad she was able to redeem herself and repair her relationship with her sister and brother-in-law. I think her upbringing and experience with Hollywood made her wise beyond her years once she straightened up, so the age gap between her and Sam didn’t seem as big as it could have in someone else. Her adoration and love for Maggie and her niece absolutely won me over. Sam was definitely the swoony single dad, but he had a lot to learn about setting boundaries with his ex.
Tempting Love was full of emotion as Alice and Sam moved from friends to lovers and beyond. I thoroughly enjoyed myself from start to finish, even when I wanted to smack Sam for letting his ex walk all over him.
A beautiful and moving love story for those who have often felt left behind. Moving to Telluride to live with her sister Elle, life has not been what Alice hoped for. She had tried to persuade Elle to reunite for a sitcom and almost damaged Elle’s relationship with Gray. Alice has been taking care of Elle’s daughter Amelia, but knows that is time to find a “real” job. Not sure what that will be, Alice agrees to be a nanny for Sam Fletcher’s young daughter Maddie. Able to live in his home takes care of her living situation, but will their constant proximity be an issue? After Sam’s disastrous marriage, even though he knows that Alice is off limits, he finds her loving care for Maddie to be intoxicating. He soon realizes that he needs her in their lives, maybe forever, but does she have feelings for him? As Alice is able to expand her love of designing mosaics, will this along with Sam’s love give her the feeling of self-worth that she has long been denied? A past indiscretion comes back to haunt her, will her life be turned upside down again? I received an advance review copy at no cost and without obligation, from the author, for an honest review. Single dad ✔️ Boss/nanny ✔️ Broken heroine ✔️ Adorable kiddos ✔️ Small town romance ✔️ He falls first ✔️
Alice moved in with her sister Elle three years ago to small town Telluride for a fresh start. But she has lived with her sister the entire town. Now that Sam, a single dad in town, is looking for a full time nanny, Alice is excited to move out and try and make her own way.
Sam immediately offers the nanny position, which he instantly regrets solely because he is really attracted to Alice and only wants to put his daughter Maggie first.
But that doesn’t last long when Alice and Sam have to cohabitate and find a way to keep their relationship a secret for now.
Both Alice and Sam have skeletons in their closet that they express to each other and are able to heal together - I think that was my favorite part of this book. Just how supportive Alice was of Sam’s endeavors and how much Sam wanted to heal Alice and help her learn to love and forgive herself.
The three of them create this absolutely beautiful family and I can’t wait to see their future play out in future books.
I wasn’t a fan of Alice in Elle & Grey’s book. So I was curious how Lea Coll was going to change my opinion of her. Well…consider me won over! Alice has grown up and realized the error of her ways. In some ways, she was forced to realize, a bit too late, that all that in Lala land wasn’t a great as it seemed. Alice is basically a shell of a person. She’s holding on to so much guilt from her actions in the past. This book is her redemption story. And it’s a sweet, and sultry, beautiful story! I loved Sam and Maggie! Sam was such a great dad. I did feel for him in regards to his family and feeling like he wasn’t measuring up. I liked that he tried to make the best out of the situation with Felicia, but I wasn’t happy with his suggestion to Alice when Felicia was coming for a visit. I really disliked everything about Felicia! The chemistry between Alice and Sam was instant and palpable! Every time they were alone, I was eager to see what would happen between them! I really can’t wait to see what will happen in the next book with Mac! I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving an honest opinion.
Sam is a single father trying to juggle working at his family's construction business and keeping up with a four year old daughter. He's already been through several nannies, none that seem to click with either him or his daughter Maggie. Alice is living in limbo, merely existing while being weighed down by guilt from her past. She's staying with her sister, brother in law and their daughter while trying to get her act together. Her sister, Elle, mentions that Sam is seeking a nanny and since Alive has spent the last three years taking care of her niece, she would be perfect for the job. Sam is immediately drawn to Alice, but keeps reminding himself that while his daughter, Maggie, loves Alice, she is after all just the nanny. That doesn't last long and before you know it, lots of feelings are involved while they are burning up the sheets. There's a whole lot more to the story, but you'll have to grab a copy to discover what. This is one of Coll's beautifully written romances and I couldn't put it down. Another really good book in another really good series by this author.
Get ready to see Alice in a whole new light. She’s done a lot of soul-searching, growing, and trying to find who she really wants to be in life. And when you discover the truth behind her first actions in Elle’s book, you’ll want to cry. But her journey to finding herself has proven that she’s worth a lot more than she’s told herself. The real question is whether or not Sam recognizes that before it’s too late.
Beyond the learning of secrets and pasts and how to move forward, we also get a fabulous tie-in to some of our favorite folks in Maryland. I’d been wondering if this was coming as Alice introduced us to her art, and I was so pleasantly thrilled to find that it really was coming our way now. Between Alice finding herself, Sam finding her and then finding his way to demanding what he’s worth in life, and the happy life they’re clearly building together, this is an excellent tale of redemption and growth.
Now I wonder about Natalie. I already see who has his eye on her. And I have a feeling her story is going to be quite the ride.
It’s so good to be back in the Mountain Haven series! I loved Elle’s book and final,y getting Alice’s story and the background made me love her. I love how young she feels, it’s a great reminder of youth and the how easily our thoughts can be controlled by others when we’re young.
Alice was burned by a lot of people during her youth which caused her to do things she regrets now, and still carries a lot of guilt as a result especially with her sister. When she gets the opportunity to move out of her sister’s and become a nanny for Sam, she starts to figure out what she wants and who she is now. I loved the relationship between Maggie and Alice, and how the story showed that choosing to love someone is sometimes stronger than the love between those were related too.
Sam and Alice had a cute, slow burn and I loved how their relationship developed from boos/nanny, to friends, to lovers. It was organic and their chemistry was great. I also really loved how the conflict played out in this story, it was original and I wanted to keep reading it!
Tempting Love is a single dad, small town romance. Even though it’s part of The Mountain Haven Series it can easily be read as a standalone but I highly recommend that you read the others in the series because they are just fantastic.
Sam is a single dad, his daughter Maggie and finding a good Nanny to help look after her is his main priority. Alice has been living quietly in Telluride with her sister and brother in law, helping to take care of her niece. When Alice accepts the job nannying for Maggie the last thing she expects is sparks to fly but boy do they.
This is one of those books that once you start, you can absolutely not put down and I loved reading it. This series is easily becoming one of my favourite’s. As always the writing is beautiful and flawless, which is something I know I can expect every time I read one of Lea’s books.
Alice has come a long way from the horrible, self centred character she was in Elle’s book, she’s really matured and changed for the better. I loved the chemistry between Alice and Sam, everytime they were together I wanted something to happen. Sam is one of the best single dad characters I’ve had the pleasure of reading. There’s nothing he wouldn’t do for his daughter. And sweet little Maggie is the most amazing little girl and I loved how she bonded with Alice. The slow burn nature of the story was delicious and left me wanting more. I loved the little catch-up’s we had with Elle and Gray. I absolutely loved the Annapolis Harbour crew being involved as well.
Sam hires Alice to be his daughter Maggie’s live in nanny. After especially California and the its fame obsession, Alice has been lying low in Colorado, being a nanny for her niece and working on her heart. When her niece heads off the preschool, she steps outside of her comfort zone to take this job and move into their house. A romance ensues - Alice falls in love with not just Sam, but Maggie. But taking the leap also pushes her to learn to love herself again, and start really living.
I will be honest - this trope is not my favorite. But I really liked the characters in this book, especially seeing how Alice grows and steps out of her comfort zone over the course of the book. Plus it is well written.
I have not read the previous books in this series - I think this works fine as a stand alone. I do think if you read the book about Alice’s sister Elle, you might understand some of the background between the 2 sisters. I have read many of this author’s other books and like them all.
In this new addition to the series, Alice has had a good two years to grow and mature. She is a totally different person than the person she was when she moved from California. So desperate for her sister’s forgiveness she dives into the role of dotting Aunt to her sister’s little girl. But somewhere along the way she develops the urge to become her own person, whomever that may be.
She decided to move out and get another job as a nanny. Sam hires her and immediately they find themselves in an attraction that neither can deny. But Alice has a lot of healing left to do, thankfully Sam can see beyond her own walls.
The journey that Alice has to take in this book is not an easy one and has many hard obstacles to overcome. I believe that Sam is the perfect man to help her see the beauty within.
This book in the series has a lovely cast of characters. They are all sweet, caring and vulnerable. Some are stronger than others, but all have the strength to guide and care for each other. The characters have truly romantic and healing stories full of heart and soul. I can’t wait for more.
Wow, Lea Coll outdid herself with Sam & Alice’s book!! Alice is Ellie’s sister & wasn’t a very nice character but she’s redeemed herself but not able to forgive herself despite already being forgiven by Ellie & Gray. Alice takes a nanny job with Sam for his adorable daughter Maggie & sparks flew when they met. Alice & Sam are a fabulous couple who both deserve all the love & happiness they get in the end. Sam was so supportive of her pursuing her dream of making her mosaic art hobby a career, which was the push she needed. Also loved the Annapolis, Maryland crossover with Savannah selling the mosaic art in Lavender & them meeting the Annapolis crew at Max’s restaurant. Would love to see another crossover with them, maybe they could stay at Natalie’s B&B!! This beautifully written book has all the feels & you feel like you’re experiencing all of them with the characters!! You’re missing out if you haven’t read this book & author. I voluntarily read for an honest review.
A difficult past led Alice to some destructive behavior that not only hurt herself but others as well. Since that time, she has worked hard to rebuild her relationships with those she loves and tried to be the best version of herself. Looking after Maggie, Sam’s daughter, is the next step in overcoming her past and it not only makes her feel needed but worthwhile as well.
Sam is trying to balance work and being a single father to Maggie. He needs help and it isn’t long before he realizes that Alice isn’t only perfect for his daughter but for him as well but their pasts causes some turmoil along the way.
Both Sam and Alice were cautious about pursuing their feelings for each other as their main priority was ensuring that Maggie didn’t get hurt. I enjoyed seeing the evolution of both characters as they support each other through the challenges and realize what they truly mean to each other.
Alice Carmichael has been hiding out in Telluride by nannying for her sister, Elle and veterinarian husband Gray whom we have enjoyed in a previous book in this series. Alice after three years of looking after 4 year old Amelia is ready to move on and decides to take a nanny's job with another family. Sam Fletcher is the youngest of his family with two older brothers and their father in the construction business in Telluride. Sam's adorable little four year old Maggie needs a reliable nanny and immediately takes to Alice and her caring. So does Sam who also doesn't fail to see Alice's womanly beauty. Both try to hide their unavoidable and growing attraction which is difficult to do until the dam finally breaks and they can't resist each other any longer. But it won't be that easy either. The past will intervene in the form of Alice's history and Maggie's mother. Good small town romance which keeps one pinned to the pages. Received this arc and have voluntarily reviewed.
5 Star reviews of Tempting Love (Mountain Haven #4) by Lea Coll
I love stories set in small towns and I was excited to be back in Telluride, Colorado. This is Alice and Sam’s story and was a good addition to the series. From the moment their eyes meet, there is connection but as Alice is employed as his daughter Maggie’s nanny, she is off limits. Or is she? The growth of both these character. Particularly Alice was heart-warming. I enjoyed the development of their relationship and it was entertaining to watch it progress. Tempting Love is a well written, romantic, at times emotional story that ticked all the boxes for me. I loved how kind, caring and protective Sam is and his relationship with Maggie made me smile. When secrets are revealed will it bring them together or rip them apart?
Alice is trying to redeem herself from her actions in the past. Everyone else involved has forgiven her but she hasn't forgiven herself. She doesn't believe that she deserves to follow her dreams of having a career in art making her glass mosaics. She decides she wants to move out of her sister's house. Her sister suggests applying to be a nanny for Sam and his daughter, Maggie. Sam needs a reliable nanny and offers Alice a live-in job. Both Sam and Alice are attracted to each other but don't want to act on it because of making it awkward in case it doesn't work out. I like that Sam supports Alice in her art and helps find her a place to do workshops. This is a wonderful addition to this series and even has crossovers to the Annapolis series. I received an early copy to read. I'm leaving my honest review.
I was so happy to be back in the small town of Telluride, Colorado and I was excited to join Alice and Sam’s journey. Let me just say Tempting Love was everything i expected and so much more. Alice is employed by Sam as a live in nanny for his daughter Maggie and from the moment they meet it’s obvious they share a haunting attraction but she should be off limits because not only does she work for him but Sam would also never risk his daughter getting hurt in a relationship that may not work out. Tempting Love is a wonderful addition to the Mountain Haven Series, it has wonderful characters, it’s beautifully written and it’s a heartwarming journey that will appeal to all romance lovers. I fell hard and fast for Sam and I adored Alice but it was Maggie who really stole a piece of my heart. I love a book that leaves me smiling and that’s exactly what this book did.
Alice has major baggage from her past that she has yet to completely forgive herself for. It has driven her to hide her true self from everyone around her, except her niece Amelia and Maggie whom she looks after.
Sam, Maggie's father, hires Alice to help with his daughter's care. He recognizes that there is more to Alice than just being a nanny and encourages her to expand her horizons and use her innate talent.
Along the way the 2 find love in each other, as usual there are a few bumps in the road before they settle on a relationship that works for them. I love the fact that each has handicaps to overcome, yet is vulnerable enough to admit to having them and ultimately working through them together.
I received and advance reader copy for free and I'm voluntarily reviewing it.
