Shinobu Ohtaka (大高 忍, born May 9, 1983 Tokyo, Japan) is a Japanese manga artist. She is best known for the creation of the manga series Sumomomo Momomo and more recently, Magi: The Labyrinth of Magic.
World: Great art, especially with the Amon stuff. The world building is good, it spends a lot of time building the pieces for the city and the nation making it more real and there being more depth to it.
Story: The story continues with the last book and still builds more stakes for the nation and the pieces in the story. I love that it’s character based and this journey that Alibaba is on is coming to a full circle. Add that we have Aladdin and his journey and Morgiana it’s good stuff. The pieces are well done.
Characters: Great character moments that build the world and the main cast. The evil characters are simple and easy to spot and motivations are not deep at all making for a very easy and basic development.
This is the 6th volume in the Magi: The Labyrinth of Magic series. I enjoyed this volume a lot and continue to really enjoy this series. There are great characters, a wonderful world, and an interesting storyline.
This book leaves off where the 5th volume left off, Aladdin and Judar are still battling. Ali Baba needs to decide if he will step up to rule Balbadd or not, and he is struggling with his confidence. Sinbad is there to support the whole group and hopefully teach Ali Baba more about how to control the Djinn that he acquired in the Dungeon earlier in the series. Additionally we find out a lot more about how Balbadd got to be in the horrible situation that it is now in.
There is a lot of character development in this book for Ali Baba, this story features him for the most part. We watch as he struggles with that age old decision of whether or not he should take up rule of a city for the good of the people.
There are a couple really awesome battle scenes and these were very well done. We get to watch as Ali Baba tries to master his Djinn as well.
Everything is kind of coming together in this book. All of the characters from the previous books are in here and the city of Balbadd is teetering on the edge of either collapse or war. You can tell that this story is building up to something big.
I really enjoy this world, the characters, and the story. The story has gotten a lot more complex and is really interesting, but it’s not too hard to follow. The drawing is well done and fairly easy to follow. There is a lot of battling between Djinn in this book and there were a couple times where the illustration got a bit confusing and hard to following, but nothing major.
Overall a very well done fantasy manga. I definitely recommend if you like fantasy manga with lots of action and some magic. I can’t wait to see where the story goes in volume 7.
This volume is packed with intense politics and emotional struggles. Alibaba is caught between his friendship and duty as the Third Prince of Balbadd. His older brother, the king, plans to sell their people into slavery, forcing Alibaba to make a difficult choice.
The battle between Ugo and Judar takes a shocking turn with the arrival of Kogyoku Ren, the Eighth Princess of the Kou Empire. Her strange creatures show just how dangerous Balbadd’s enemies are. Sinbad has a plan to save the kingdom, but Alibaba’s biggest challenge is overcoming his own self-doubt.
With great action, deep emotions, and stunning artwork, this volume keeps the excitement high. The mix of battles and politics makes it a gripping read!
As Aladdin continues to battle Judal, with Sinbad and Morgiana aiding from the sidelines, Ali Baba thinks long and hard on the decision of whether or not he will take up the mantle of leader in the kingdom of Balbadd. Ohtaka will keep readers on the edge of their seats with this emotional entry. Will Ali Baba be brave enough to lead his people?
3.1/5 estrelas
Better than the last volume. It's now dawning on me that I feel like we're learning way too much too fast and there's no real respite from all the doom and gloom. I know a rumble's about to start, but hopefully after this we can take a breather.
There was quite a bit to digest in this volume which is brilliant for me! I'm loving each moment, especially with the development of Alibaba, I really like his character so seeing him make big steps is such a plus for me!
similar problems to the last volume, this whole arc feels cliche to me. i’m enjoying the world building but the stakes do not feel high to me personally but just an introduction to the bigger picture.
Another awesome volume of Magi, Realllyyy love this Series!!! Great story, lots of awesome characters and fantastic beautful Art! Deffinatly in my top favorite manga's!😍👌😁❤️
