Book 2 of the Colorado TrilogyDesperate to escape her grief and bittersweet memories, recently widowed Jordan Braddock decides to sell her farm and travel west, hoping that the wild beauty of the frontier will help her put her ghosts to rest. Accompanying Jordan to Denver are her newlywed relatives, Will and Nicky Braddock. On the journey, their train is held up by a gang led by a chillingly cordial killer, who recognizes the reserved stranger seated across from Jordan as a notorious retired gunfighter. Thus Jordan is introduced to frontier adventure, and to two very dangerous men -- both of whom she will meet again. This title is a historical romance.
I am new to Western Romance and thoroughly enjoyed this novel. It kept a lively pace and as I am a feminist, a great lover of the outdoors and the arts the story spoke to me on many levels. Additionally, it was refreshing to read about some Victorian era females that thought for themselves.
