Frog has a problem. Burping makes him happy, but all the other frogs think it's disgusting. When he finds a town where everyone loves to burp, he finally realizes that the other frogs may have been right after all. This comedy of bad manners will have children laughing out loud. And they will discover, like Frog, that a little manners can go a long way. Lisa Kopelke's lively text and witty illustrations showcase Frog and his overly gassy friends. Burp! Excuse me!
Well, I guess the point of this story is that you should say "Excuse me" after you burp. There was something lacking in this story-- can't put my finger on it.

This would be a really fun book to include in a "Yucky" storytime.
It's the story about a frog that likes to burp. When he is little, everyone thinks it is cute that he burps. As he gets older and starts to burp even more, the people around him get annoyed and banish him from their town. He moves to another town when the frogs burp all day every day without ever saying "excuse me". He then becomes disgusted with how extremely burpy they all are and sneaks back to his home town for the annual "Frog Jam". His cover gets blown, but he finally learns to say "Excuse Me!" after he burps and everyone admits how much they missed him. They allow him to stay.

Frog loves eating and burping. His friends are embarrassed, even disgusted by his constant loud burping. When the town sends Frog up the river, he stumble upon a town where everyone burps freely. At first, he fits in but eventually he starts to miss his home. He decides to go back, will his town accept him?
Very funny book with humorous illustrations to match. My son giggled throughout the entire book!
I bought this book thinking that my 8 year old would enjoy it, and that it had a good lesson by saying "Excuse me" when needed, he unfortunately did not enjoy and actually told me that he did not want me to read it again, ever.
I thought it wasn't that bad of a book, and that it had a good message but I guess as an 8 year old, he thought otherwise. Maybe I'll see if my 6 year old likes it, if not, my rating will stay at 2 stars.
Ah, the art of the belch...and learning when and where it is appropriate as long as its is followed by "Excuse me". Not my favorite topic since belching has always made me cringe and wretch with or without the excuse. However, I can see how the book could be used as a teaching tool in attempt to curb ill mannered kindergarteners.

Genevieve would have given this one four stars. I just have a problem with the fact that the lesson is: burping is quality and quantity is just fine as long as you say excuse me. I politely disagree.
This book is just there to me because it basically sells the idea that it is okay to burp openly but at the same time it teaches matters by letting children know to say excuse me afterward.
Now, I am a burper, but I thought this would teach manners. Which it did not. My kids did not like it and there was no real moral to the whole thing. Not very impressive.
