An accessible guide to the next big thing in sound healing. Taking a science-based approach, it provides lessons and exercises to beat stress and anxiety.
Discover how sound can help you overcome stress and anxiety
Taking a science-based approach which explores the impact of sound on your body and mind, popular sound healer Farzana Ali presents this accessible guide to using sound for self-care.
We already use sound as a form of healing, from self-soothing with music to immersing ourselves with the noises of nature to promote calm. This book provides the natural next step, showing you how to realize the many benefits of working with sound, from better sleep to pain management, and from dealing with stress to reducing anxiety.
Farzana shares practical tips and everyday activities with advice on extra tools, including active listening, art therapy, breath work, journaling exercises and visualizations. It also provides access to a sound healing recording that you can use for your practice, delivering the therapeutic potential of sound for whenever you need it most.
A comforting book that delves into the mechanics of sound healing & its therapeutic uses. The author provides practical tips on how to self-soothe, as well as a free sound bath session to enjoy from the comfort of your home!
As a newcomer to this space, l enjoyed reading the book. The writing style is easy to follow and the author is generous with healing tips from breathwork to positive thinking. Whether you're a newbie, veteran or simply curious about sound healing, l would definitely recommend this book :)
After my very first sound bath, I left feeling relaxed and curious. I wanted to understand how it actually works. That’s when I picked up "Sound Healing" by Farzana Ali — and it turned out to be just what I needed.
Farzana’s writing has a calm, inviting flow to it, making it easy for beginners to grasp the science behind sound healing. She weaves in her personal journey with research and studies, showing how sound can help the body shift out of stress mode and into a state of rest. Topics like the sympathetic (fight or flight) and parasympathetic (rest and digest) nervous systems and the vagus nerve are explained in a way that’s clear but never heavy.
I also loved the practical tips she shares at the end — simple, everyday things you can do alongside sound healing to bring your stress levels down even more.
A huge plus is the sound meditation included in this book via QR code. I’ll be incorporating it into my sound healing routine from now on.
That said, a few chapters felt a little too short, and I would have enjoyed more depth in certain areas. Still, as an introduction, it’s both inspiring and informative.
I’m definitely continuing my journey with sound healing.
This is a great book into the world of sound healing/ sound therapy. To be honest, I bought this book many years ago and had it on my shelf. I was waiting for the right moment in time for it to apply into my life. And I am glad I read this from cover to cover. Many things I didn't know about that peaked my interest (whether it's buying a vibroacoustic chair, acupressure mat or bolster pillow). I will be using this as a reference guide for the future.
Re-reading this precious book, and will most likely re-read it many, many times leaving it well underlined and loved. So much to say; but words aren’t always needed when we find ourselves in a space of transformative sound.
“Sound allows the opportunity for you to heal yourself.”
Thank you for your words and the spaces they hold in sound, dearest Farzana Ali.
Super helpful, easily digestible although I wish some of the science behind certain things were explained a little more clearly but I definitely appreciated the brain activity and physical effects being included.
