The adaptation is ongoing and is SO GOOD! The novel is ongoing as well 😭 but the manhwa is not available except for a few chapters at the moment. Guess it’s ongoing as well (of course!).

I am still reading this, but I have caught up with the chapters that are available in English online (thank you to the translators <3). I started reading this after the show came out recently, which I did really love, but because the show took away the gay element of the story, I had to read the original. I’m really enjoying the book, and can’t wait to see how the story develops.

Edit 13/07/2024 - I finished this! I found it online full and it is quite long, but I have finally finished it now. The translation was not great for the version I found which did take away some of the nuance which is a shame, but I really enjoyed this. The show took a lot of what happens here but changes it slightly, and obviously a lot more happens in the novel that the show doesn’t even expand on, such as more meetings with Sekyung’s father and Yiheon’s father the chairman shows up too. There is much less emphasis on Dongsoo and that gang plot line from the show. Obviously more time is dedicated to Yiheon and Sekyung’s relationship which is the main focus and the reason I sought the web novel out. Overall really enjoyable, I had fun.

I didn’t regret reading this after watching High School Return of a Gangster, as many moments in the novel genuinely piqued my interest~♡ The soul-switching and sweet revenge plot were deeply satisfying, especially as a response to the bullying and mistreatment that Song Yi-heon endured. It wasn’t too angsty or dramatic and I found it quietly amusing thanks to Kim Deuk-pal’s grandpa-like attitude and his constant efforts to blend in with those decades younger than him >< Still, the story gradually darkens as the assault by Hong Jae-min’s gang and the manipulation by the chairman’s bootlicker begin to resurface. On top of that, Choi Se-kyung’s personal issues with his father also interfere with Kim Deuk-pal’s studies and his mission to seek justice for Song Yi-heon.

As for the romance... this one burns hot! ♡⁠(⁠˃͈⁠ ⁠દ⁠ ⁠˂͈⁠  ⁠) Kim Deuk-pal, inhabiting Song Yi-heon’s body, couldn’t fully confront the growing tension with Choi Se-kyung until near the end of the book for obvious reasons: their age gap and the possibility of Song Yi-heon’s soul returning.

There’s a high chance I’ll reread this in the future. Hoping that it gets much better, official translations because this one deserves the hype! ^^

Sinceramente tenía miedo de que no me llegará a gustar, ya me ha pasado que me gusta la serie pero cuando leo la novela termina siendo una decepción.
Aquí no fue así. Puedo decir que la novela es MIL VECES MEJOR y que la serie no le hace justicia.
La trama, el desarrollo de TODOS los personajes, el desarrollo de la pareja. Todo fue perfecto y bien llevado. Me encanta el tipo de narración que tiene, describe las emociones y escenas muy bien, pude simpatizar con los personajes y sentirme parte de ellos. Si la recomiendo? POR SUPUESTO QUE SÍ
Si les incómoda la relación de los personajes por la diferencia de edad me atrevo a decirles que se la lean igualmente
ya que no hay una relación romántica entre ellos hasta casi casi el final. Y sinceramente considero que su relación es muy linda a pesar de todo JAJAJJA. Esta historia me marco, no la superaré en mucho tiempo.
