Scottish Highlands & Island Romance #1

Scottish Island Knitting Bee

Rate this book
Scottish Island Knitting Bee is a new light–hearted romance set on a beautiful island in Scotland.

Elspeth, a knitter, leaves Glasgow to run her Aunt Morven’s knitting shop during the summertime on one of the beautiful islands off the West Coast of Scotland. Morven is on holiday, touring mainland Scotland during the summer.

Elspeth is looking forward to running the pretty knitting shop on the village’s main street, and living above the shop, enjoying the views of the sea in the bay, visiting the castle in the forest, thistle loch, and the forget–me–not waterfall on the estate, going for walks and picnics in the hills.

The local knitting bee night is held in the shop, and Elspeth is looking forward to that too, meeting the members and making new friends. The ladies of the knitting bee welcome Elspeth, and soon she’s having fun trying on dresses at Holly and Skye’s fashionable vintage boutique, and enjoying the delicious cakes made by Rosabel and Primrose at the cake shop.

The cake shop is owned by Innis, one of three rich and handsome brothers living in the castle. Finlay will one day be the laird, and he runs the castle and estate with Ean.

When Elspeth meets Innis, sparks fly, but will she find romance with Innis or one of his brothers? Or is there someone else on the island to fall in love with?

I was trying another author with settings I particularly enjoy - in this case Scotland and kitting shop. It was good but not as complex as Jenny Colgan and Jean Grainger. It was obvious what was going to happen. That said, I did enjoy it! Not rushing out to buy the many more books.

A nice light hearted read. If you have ever been part of a knitting group or shall we call it a knit and knatter you will enjoy this. A bit of romance thrown in for making this a marshmallow read (soft and squishy )
