What is it like to return to Earth a hundred years after its downfall?

Two years ago, Simon, a revolutionary from the Arcadis space station, fled to Earth. The alien planet he finds is backward and primitive.

While Simon struggles to adapt, his newfound friend Anna guides him through life in the new world. One day, a mysterious explosion in the sky compels Anna and Simon to take the journey of a lifetime.

Across the new frontier, they run into the Father and his fanatical cult, murderers, and zealots who will stop at nothing in their search for "the Vessel." In a desperate race for time, Simon and Anna battle to stop a conqueror from finding the key to tyranny.

I honestly enjoyed this book. Mind you, in order to fully enjoy it, I ended up getting the first book as well. Gotta go all out when it comes to reading a series, right?

I love the fact that Gunnarsson molds the post-apocalyptic world he's created in such a way that it makes you want to explore every inch of it further. Each book holds diverse characters, all of whom gives broader views of a world that has been overtaken by the elements and the rash decisions made by the human race.

Book 1 showed us a bleak world. One where people struggled to adapt and survive by any means necessary. Book 2 took it further and showed us just how resilient humans when it comes to keeping what they deem theirs no matter what comes their way. We, as a people, will fight tooth and nail for everything, be it our homes, families, and the lands we live on.

In this book, we get to see how far humanity has come throughout the trials and tribulations these characters face from the onset. Life and the earth isn't perfect. It never will be. Not after it's been ravaged by time's passing. Nevertheless, the human race prevails, doing everything to survive no matter the consequences.

I've honestly enjoyed the series has a whole and look forward to more of Gunnarsson's work in the future. The Odemark series is definitely one I recommend.

I don't usually take the time to write book reviews... but WOW! What a fantastic conclusion to an epic trilogy. So many unexpected twists and turns awaited me throughout this book. You can read this as a standalone story, but I truly appreciated the artistry that went into crafting an ending that so skillfully wrapped everything up by reading 'Abandon Us' and 'Forgive Us' first.

You need to read this book.

A good story. I haven't read the first 2 books in the series. I have them on my shelf, and will go back and read them.

Better than the first

This book has adventure after adventure. I couldn't put it down. If there is a book three, I'm on it.
