Jay Harris, a twenty-nine-year-old creative director, loves his job and strives to be the best at it. He also loves women. For a night, at least, because, in his own words, he doesn't do the dating thing. Aisling Connelly is a ruthless young woman who has grown up in the industry and has a bad reputation when it comes to human relationships. When Aisling is hired by Jay's firm and they end up working together, things go south, fast. Isn't that how the best love stories begin? No? You are right, but there are always exceptions to the rule. Completely illogical ones.
Hi there! I'm Sienna, and when I'm not writing spicy happily-ever-afters, you might find me reading, whipping up a delicious meal, reveling in the beauty of nature, or exploring new corners of the world. After years spent crunching numbers and growing my accounting company, always weaving stories in my head, I finally took the leap in 2022 and pursued my lifelong dream of publishing my first book. What fuels my passion? A deep love for a good story and the many characters who take root in my mind, demanding their tales be told. The joy of bringing heartwarming love stories to life keeps me constantly creating, so stay tuned for what's coming next!
Spicy office romance? Oh yes! Secretly dating a guy who looks like a hot Viking? Gimme, gimme! Did I want to strangle the main heroine multiple times for being a jerk? You bet! Am I happy with how the entire story unfolded? Definitely!
I love it when the story makes me feel all the possible emotions. I love it even more when there is an excellent character development and personal growth. If I could give this book more than 5 ⭐️, I would have.
I hope I can do this book justice by writing this review. As always, Sienna has written a love letter to her characters with this tale. Its twists and turns have let me turn page after page, and I wish there was more of it. The story of Aisling and Jay is heartbreakingly beautiful, and the way they worked through their trauma had me rooting for them from their first "hello."
I loved Aisling's story, how she grew and became the woman she was always meant to be, how she fought her inner demons and let love embrace her. She deserved the happy ending Sienna wrote for her.
If you haven't read Illogical yet, you should. I know I will again. It's a story to come back to.
A beautiful story about love, personal growth, trust and perseverance. A lot of laughs thanks to goofy Jay and some maddened yell at Aisling. Read it in a few days.
Sienna Zini has the knack for getting inside the heads of her major characters and allowing them to speak for themselves. Their contradictions and self-delusions are laid bare, so sometimes the reader seems to know more about them than they know of themselves. To accomplish this, the author wades boldly into their minds to explore their experience with trauma and how it has later affected their ability to give love. Learning to love as psychological liberation is what I take to be the theme of this wonderful book.
Illogical is an interior book, set within minds, hearts, and psyches so the external environment never becomes fully present. Whether in New York or London, the environment remains shadowy and the creative work projects only suggested, which, I suggest is how her characters live their lives. Relationships are their real environment.
The tale of love and loss repeated and love found again takes place over many years, giving the book something of an epic feel. Sienna Zini leaves no loose ends in her plot either: by the end of the book all such ends have been satisfyingly tied. Her descriptions of sexual encounters are uninhibited and detailed enough that little is left to the imagination, yet each encounter is relevant as a turning point in the plot. The tale is a progressive spiral, often repeating its patterns, as troubled relationships tend to do, yet continuing forward into new territory, so a satisfying happy ending is made possible.
I can honestly say that Ms Zini has written the best romance novel I have ever read!
This book deserves all the stars in the universe. The love, the personal growth of the two characters, I don't have words to describe this book, I cried alongside Jay, hated aisling for being such a coward at times, my perception of her slowly changed the more I read , chapter after chapter I started to understand her , why she would run away from happiness when it was staring at her in the face! A real man unlike her father!!!, but it was her love and self doubt that made her feel that she wasn't enough and she wanted to protect Jay. Beautifully written, such a strong book on love, forgiveness... Jay is husband goals for sure, a cinnamon roll at heart. This book is sure a roller coaster of emotions, I did have to stop a few times as my suffering for the characters was strong🤣. Chefs kiss is what this book is!.
