I should know. After all, I used to be part of the pack until a quirk of fate had me turning my back on them when it became clear that I was just too different from my fellow packmates. So what if I was the only shifter with white hair? At least I matched my wolf. When anyone wondered why I didn’t have the tell-tale purple eyes of our kind, I shrugged and said it was glamour. But then the glowing runes appeared on my skin… and, yeah. Not even my relationship to the pack’s Alpha could keep the rumors from swirling. That’s when my uncle dropped the bomb: unlike the witch-shifter hybrids that make up the Shadow Pack, I don’t have any witch blood in me. I’m part celestial—one of the cursed Nephilim—and the biggest threat to my pack. So I left. Thanks to a new friend, I got a crash course in what it was like to be part of the celestial race, and then I used my aura to hide out in a paranormal-ran community where I’m just another Para on her own. Until one of my old packmates comes bearing bad news… and the shock of my life. Because Drew? My best friend has changed in the months since I’ve been gone. He’s become dark, the shadows taking hold, and he’s not the only one. All of Arcadia has been cursed. The only thing that might get through to him in time to save our pack is the same person responsible for the darkness. Me .
Because I’m his fated mate—and the reason why Arcadia has lost the light that pushed back against the shadows currently consuming our hidden territory...
** Total Eclipse is the first book of three in the new Shadow Pack series. It tells the story of Bianca, her fated mate Drew, and the Legend of the Purple Moon...
Jessica Lynch loves to write! She's been writing ever since she was a child, and spent years writing fan fiction before deciding at the end of 2017 to begin focusing on her original works of fiction. A 14-time winner of NaNoWriMo, Jessica has tons of manuscripts waiting to be formed and shaped and introduced to the world -- plus countless more milling around in her brain. She just wishes she could type fast enough to get them all out!
When she's not writing or working, she's either reading, playing with her family of cats in Central New Jersey, rooting for her beloved Mets, or working on her graphic arts skills to bring her characters and cover art to life.
Whewph this was a trip. The world itself was interesting for sure but you cannot convince me this book had a stitch of editing done to it. There was at least two mistakes on EVERY SINGLE PAGE. Also when the author says that this book can be read without reading the rest in the universe, it's a LIE. God this was confusing as shit.
While the story and world were intriguing, they weren't so enough to deal with the horrible writing, constant mistakes and complete lack of context. I definitely won't be continuing.
Couldn’t finish it. Was simply boring and I really can’t stand books that have super deep established friendships that I haven’t gotten to see. Definitely would’ve upped the star rating if we got to see more of the past.
The Shadow Pack is mostly made up of hybrids, and Bianca Howell was the Alpha’s niece. But when she found out she was actually part wolf and part celestial, a cursed Nephilim, she didn’t feel like she fit in anymore and left the pack.
Then one of her old pack sought her out to tell her the pack is cursed and being overtaken by darkness. Lucifer Morningstar, the devil, wants Bianca and is trying to get her through cursing the pack. He knows Bianca’s fated mate is Andrew Black (“Drew”). So she is the reason the darkness and shadows are destroying the pack – they need the light to push the darkness back. When she returns to them, will she be able to save them? Or will she be too late? When the devil causes the flames to engulf Drew to kill him, can she call on her own powers and draw the fire to herself – discovering the flames will obey her? Can she win against the devil? Has he underestimated her?
Our heroine left because she was different and no one liked that. Turns out she is essential to the pack's survival. But does she really want to go back to the very people that rejected her in the first place?
This is book one of this urban fantasy series. A fine place to start.
The story is well written and easy to read with a well developed setting that holds plenty of mystery. The characters are well developed and vividly portrayed which helps to bring the story to life. I really liked our heroine who is tough and smart, but more than a little alone. The plot moves along at a good pace and includes plenty of surprises to keep things interesting. Overall, a great start to a series and I look forward to seeing where it goes next.
Highly recommended.

'Total Eclipse' by Jessica Lynch: Shifter/paranormal romance where Bianca explores her identity and seeks a bonded mate in a world of witches, wolves, angels, vampires, and ghosts. Unfortunately, the repetitive explanations that don’t actually say anything at all, Bianca's unappealing arrogance, and a lacking plot detracted from the overall experience. Written as a standalone but part of a series, it felt incomplete without essential context. I felt like I was thrown right in the middle of a long winded story. Despite my problems with this story, I acknowledge Jessica Lynch's dedication to her craft. Taste varies, and while it didn't resonate with me, it might for you.
Total Eclipse is the first book in the Shadow Pack series. It is an excellent introduction to the Shadow Pack and Bianca and Drew's journey to their happy ever after. They are almost there, but even the devil himself is trying to ruin their happiness. The storyline is compelling and engaging, as are the characters. Total Eclipse is undoubtedly a page-turner with a storyline full of paranormal action, suspense, drama, steamy romance, love, and a little humor.

Like the setup of her being a bit of an outcast, and I liked her connection with Drew. I’m not huge on the friends to lovers scenario; the wasted time frustrates me, but they are good together. I usually love shifters too, so I was loving that and found the different types of paranormals interesting. Good action and suspense too! Bianca has some not so great individuals after her; causing problems for her, but she’s a strong lady! Enjoy the action and danger too! Fun times! Looking forward to the rest of the series!
I almost didn’t finish the book. There were a lot of spelling mistakes but honestly thats not the end of the world. What really disappointed me though was that the whole book felt like a filler chapter. Props to the author for world building though, it seems like they have created a very extensive world through many novels. With that said I won’t be reading any of those books. Best part of the book was honestly Fred who only appeared in the last few pages anyways.
This was an engaging series opener that takes Drew (H) and Bianca (h) and gives them quite the adventure. They are working towards their HEA but there's a lot going against them. Expect a ton of action, drama, suspense, some humour and sizzling chemistry for these interesting characters. I really liked how well the world building was so detailed, letting me be there in the story ;) This is the first installment so we definitely have more to come yet. Good fun!
I loved Bianca and Drew. The plot was really good, the chemistry was steamy, there was a bit of humor. I never about there would be half wolf half angel shifters out there but this definitely makes it super unique and I only read books like this a handful of times so I’m definitely head over heals for it! I can’t wait to see what happens next in book 2 because this story was super interesting and entertaining!
I gave this book all the way to the end to see if it got any easier to read and it just didn’t. It was like reading a book where every other page and the first three chapters were missing and the main plot line didn’t even happen until the last two chapters.
Dnf at 50%. Ended up skipping to final chapter and felt like I didn’t miss a single detail between the jump.
There was too much inner dialogue. The dialogue tended to repeat itself or just throw in unrelated comments.
I will say the world building was decent, I just personally couldn’t get over the heaven celestials vs the hell demons, felt used and not really building for me.
This is a paranormal read that had a lot going on and didn't necessarily make it interesting. She's part werewolf, part angel meaning she shouldn't exist and so the story goes.

Тази книга беше мешаница.Като казвам бъркотия имам предвид пълна от- до.Спойлер -накрая Луцифер се появява?Което да ви разясня попринцип няма да е странно за една фантастична книга но ви оверявам тук Е.
the idea was cute, but too many fantasy species not only just involved but also way too many combined i think to make the impact as interesting as she was hoping. really her whole idea had so much potential but the execution was debatable
DNF :(( The premise of the book is interesting but there were too many parts that seemed to spring from nowhere. The author mentions that it is not necessary to read previous books but I felt like I was lost while reading it. Instagram dragged me in with an amazing scene and hooked me originally.
The plot was a bit loose and annoying until the second half of the book. Before that, it was really hard to get through. I did enjoy the spice, the kitties, and characters. However I wonder about Janine. I hope she didn’t get forgotten.
This book reads like a Wattpad book straight from the start. It claims you don’t need the background of the other series to read it but without it I felt more lost than the main character. While its plot has potential the actual flow of the book needs a lot of help.
Dnf, got to 50% and it was such a struggle, boring and repetitive, there’s very few books I can’t finish, even when I’m not enjoying them, I power through, this was just far too boring!
