Night Fall
It’s fun to see the Nighthawk agency starting out and I like how closely tied to Blackwell and Veritas it is. Kind of like one big family.

I love the Byrd family dynamics. The teasing amongst the brothers but they also speak truthfully to one another.

I also like the honesty between Harper and Aiden through the whole book. They’re great characters and I found their story very enjoyable.

Night Vision
I am in love! Jenna can have Brendan but I’m in love with Karlie and this little family of characters. My heart melted multiple times as Karlie interacted with Brendan.

When cuteness overload wasn’t happening, the case was shocking and intriguing. My heart jumped a bit at one point! Because I read Sleeman’s books all out of order, I was glad to finally get some backstory on Thomas. I still have some questions but it’s much better.

Due to the setting, you get a bigger glimpse of the Byrd family interactions and it’s a riot! The parents are amazing and Sierra is a hoot with her brothers. And the Christmas scene 😍😍😍😍😍 I’m just a puddle.

Totally random but it’s so fun that they were homeschooled! It’s nice to see a positive representation because these guys are clearly competent and brilliant adults. It’s also makes the closeness and camaraderie make a lot of sense. Homeschool families tend to be very close.

Night Hawk
This one is hard. The whole case is human trafficking and it’s so evil. I was trying to put the pieces together and I thought I had some good ones but I was wrong about just about everything except the photo.

It was hard and there were so many at threads but Sleeman did a really great job. I especially like the part when clay talks about turning “whys” into “hows”. Taking your questions and turning them into actions. That was but for me. Instead of asking “why did such and such happen” we ask “how can I move forward” or something like that.

Drake plays a big role in this one and I think I really like him.

Night Moves
My heart was in my throat from almost the first page! Things calmed down just slightly but this was intense. Not knowing who to turn to for help when you don’t know if the good guys could be bad makes it all worse.

Man, having kids in this situation is heartbreaking. And while I should have seen the twist coming (I really should be cluing in on these things by now), I was still surprised. I did get a small clue right, in what tied the things together. But k didn’t get anywhere close with details.

But I did guess/hope for the resolution and I’m so happy I was right!!! EEEEE!!! I also like that Drake and Natalie are not jumping into anything too fast. As much as I wanted a certain thing to happen, what did happen is far better.

Night Watch
This is the first second chance of this series. I mean, Clay and Toni don’t really count in my book.

It’s pretty crazy why this is a second chance romance. I can’t imagine being in WITSEC. Then you have an absolutely wild story and all in all this book ended up feeling different from the rest. The family wasn’t as involved (sadly) and even the case somehow seemed a little different. I think part of that may be because Kennedy is a forensic investigator herself. (Yes, I know Toni is law enforcement too.) Forensic diving is very cool, by the way.

I guess I’m not really sure how I feel about this book. It was good and I liked it but it also didn’t feel the same as the rest of them.

Night Prey
Just when I can’t imagine a crazier plot or starting point.

I’m not quite sure how Malone got a book in this series but I’ve been curious about her since Sierra’s book in Truth Seekers so I’m glad to finally be getting her story.

This book gave me whiplash. The plot twist was so fast and sharp! I really liked Malone and Ian and how their pasts shaped who they are. They were genuine and relatable, with struggles that seemed so real. It made me feel for them.

Okay, I have to say it. After the second, maybe third, time that the protectee gets in trouble after the threat was supposedly over, they should learn their lesson. That goes for all these series.

This was a good series. The Byrd family is great and all the characters were so compelling. This *may* be my favorite Sleeman series.

Truly enjoyed the series. SO VERY WELL written. Kept your interest through all 6 books. All the heroes/heroines fall in love seemingly at first sight and when reading book after book in the series, it becomes expected, albeit still believable. LOVE the family dynamic, the kidding between the siblings and especially the love from their parents and how inclusive and special it is, makes you long to have a family experience like that.

Great Reading

I’ve read maybe 3 series already and have bought 3 more and can’t wait to dive into them. Never has reading a Christian book ever been more satisfying than these ones. No smut talking and just plain good detective stories and how love comes to be with God in mind. Keep writing and I’ll keep reading. Thankyou.

Awesome series!

Recommend this book for anyone who loves romantic suspense with strong family relationships and support woven in. Also has some comic relief with the matchmaking antics of the family matriarch.
