76 is about the Clearances that affected communities across Scotland, and starts out from the Isle of Arran. A fast gripping adventure tale takes us across parts of the Highlands and Islands of Scotland, as part of an ancestral trail, but leads to a far more sinister conclusion. Gordon’s first novel was compared by his publisher to Whisky Galore. This his second novel is far more serious in tone, but is still interspersed with his characteristic humour. It gives us an insight into what happened to groups of displaced communities, and how one man intends to mark those events.
