A story set during World War II. It is the summer of 1944. There have been no air raids for quite a while, and people are beginning to think the war may be coming to an end. Doodlebug Summer is a children's book about the V-1 and V-2 rocket attacks on London during the last year of World War II. This novel is told from the viewpoint of an 11 year-old girl and reflects both the terror and the excitement that the second round of Blitz attacks provoke in the civilian population.
The book contains a glossary for children and adults unfamiliar with WWII lingo.
