Told from multiple POV’s, this is book two of a trilogy that must be read in order. The book may feature aspects which readers may find triggering and warnings at the beginning of the book are advised to be checked before reading. This MMF paranormal romance contains scenes of a mature nature intended for an 18+ audience.
The ending of this book had me on the edge of my seat. So much action, so intense, and now I’ll be in agony waiting for book 3.
This book was waaaay spicier than book 1 and it was so good.
I’m writing this review for myself so that when book 3 comes out I’m not super lost. So massive spoilers if you’re reading this.
We ended on Eva and Kane waiting outside the catacombs as Alaric runs inside to rescue his mom Rose from them collapsing. Braxton (Alaric’s dad) is passed out during this and we learn that he’s passed out because Braxton and Rose are true mates, if one dies the other dies. We also just learned that Eva, Kane, and Alaric are true mates so Alaric rushing in there could mean they all die! Axel ended up being ok, he had a chain strapped onto his neck that made his magic suppressed so that’s why him and Alaric couldn’t talk through the battle bond. The seer (Edelin) told Axel he needed to rescue the 2 Fae who were prisoners stuck in another layer of the catacombs, which he does. We still have no idea who they are but I’m thinking they’re Eva’s real parents? Elikai is partnered with his uncle now and tried to execute Kane because the spider shifter doubled crossed them his name was Jarrah or something. The uncle also knows something about Eva that she doesn’t know. Elikai is planning some coronation games for Fae to enter to become new horde generals. Thalia (Eva’s old maid) and her dad Westley seem to know who the 2 old Fae prisoners are and they are bowing to them but haven’t said. Other notes: Nix and Axel are cousins. Edelin is Nix mom. Rose and Braxton are Alaric’s parents. Axel and Alaric have a battle bond where they can talk through each others minds. Crystal is the female Fae who Elikai got to replace Eva once Eva escaped.

I had this series on my shelf for about a year because I knew AC likes a cliff-hanger and book 3 was imminent. So I waited... was not disappointed!
I inhaled this book. Life took me away from book 1 too much so I neglected priorities, lost sleep and refused to put the book down.
The first book was a little saucy, this book was Spicy! In all the way us BookTok Smut loving girlies love.
The pace was on point, the reveals were perfectly timed. More breadcrumbs to follow to keep you intrigued. Perfect. I love a book with multiple POV's so I get to see everyone's point of view and we get more Axel! AH! Love Axel.
ANOTHER DAMN CLIFFHANGER! But I so smartly waited for the series to complete because was I heck being tortured over the cliff-hangers.
Princes of Prophecy is full of colourful characters, rich in plot and doused in jaw-dropping, laugh out loud, thigh-clenching moments. And to say I had a very emotionally charged reaction to this book would be a gross understatement. It was loud and obnoxious and I'm completely unapologetic. Because this right here is why I read! Too soon for a re-read? Maybe! Am I going to do it anyway? Abso-freaking-lutely! Because this is one world I want to get lost in over and over and over again.
I unfortunately did not have the pleasure of reading the first book before I started reading the second. Therefore I did not have any previous knowledge of what happened before this book. We are instantly plummeted straight into the action from the first page. All throughout the book there are many plot twists and turns as well as secrets being revealed that keeps the reader wanting to know more.
I absolutely fell in love with Axel one of the characters in the book. He is the comic relief that is necessary at times. He laughs at danger and looks at the bright side of some situations that may not always have one but also is cautious when it is needed. I was even fond of Evangelia and how she improved herself through the training she was put through. There were multiple points of views that helped move the story along which was a rather nice touch and kept the reader interested all through the book. Having every chapter a different person’s perspective was refreshing and brought the story together nicely.
There are several extremely hot spicy moments all throughout the book. From female to male (FM), male to male to female (MMF) and even male on male (MM) sexual interactions. I did not know that I had any triggers when reading until I read this book. I am unfortunately not a fan of the male to male sexual interactions or going balls deep into ones mouth. However a person who is would love the detailed descriptions that the authors give us. They make the characters interactions very realistic to the point that you feel that you are there witnessing it.
The authors describe their characters and their surrounding world very well and brings it to life for the reader. Even the character development is incredible. I did enjoy the story and the plot of the book. It does leave the reader on a cliff hanger at the end and makes us wanting the next installment in the series as soon as possible. We are even left with more questions on what will happen next. Such as will the prince fight to be the king that his people already believes him to be? We will have to wait and see.
Overall I enjoyed the book and would recommend it to others to read it as long as they don’t have the same triggers as me. All in all it was great and I enjoyed having a glimpse of this beautiful fantasy world that the authors created.
I received this as an ARC copy and this is my honest and true review.
I read Lore of Ruin last year, and when I tell you I've been feeling tortured for 11 months over that cliffhanger, I am not joking.
This book starts EXACTLY where we were left in the first book, which I appreciated. No dancing around what had happened, and dive right on in. The King is dead, the psychopath evil twin prince Eli is all but too eager to get the crown, and wed and bred Eve.
Alaric, Prince Kane, and Eve get closer and closer, and when I tell you this book is STEAMY, I mean it. This thruple is everything. The three of them are thrust onto an adventure escaping Eli, making new allies with rebel alliances, reuniting with some lost friends/family, and plotting to take Eli down for good and saving that kingdom from the insane-narcissistic-royal pain in the ass-Prince and the absolute tyranny he would ensue.
I love that this book is multiple POV. We get to know Axel a whole lot more, and Nix, and I love them both, but especially Axel. He's hilarious, cute, and it was great to see a whole different side of him. He's the comedic relief and friend with the golden retriever energy that we all know we love.
This book is action packed, romance packed, secrets uncovered, and fun as hell. There was never a dull moment. We also FINALLY got to find out what Eve is, which I was dying about from the last book how we still didn't have that answer!
Warning, this also ends on a CLIFFY...I was finally temporarily put out of my misery over the first book's cliffhanger, only to be left tortured all over again! Tortured in the best way possible, because I love a good cliffhanger, and this delivers. Now to patiently, while inside I am absolutely impatient, wait for the next book. Absolutely awesome and worth the wait to get this book, and the wait for the next.
Tropes: MM & MMF Scenes One-Bed/One-Tent DP Age-Gap Enemies-Lovers/Friends-Lovers
The first book in this series was something that sparkled inside me and re-ignited my love for reading. Fun fact, it also was a book that made me start my journey into bookish online community. And it’s been far too long since I last took a trip to Dezrothia and see Eva, Kane and Alaric. So I gobbled this book up and I couldn’t stop reading.
This book not only amps up the spice from the first book but it also gives us a look outside the castle walls and that might be some of my favorite moments in this book. To see Kane grow up, understand his legacy and his love for both Alaric and Eva is wonderful to witness. And Eva, finally letting go of all those secrets she’s held inside her and be open and the BAMF she’s grown into, that’s fantastic to witness. And Alaric, his protective nature and his awe of these two loving him is just everything to me.
I love the worldbuilding in this story and how the story flows forward. There’s not a lot of quiet moments in the book but the action moments don’t take up too much space and that balance is fantastic to me. And it keeps me guessing on what’s happening next. The multiple POV’s work wonderfully and I love the additions of Nix and Axel as they provide so much more both character-wise and plot-wise.
The final cliffhanger made me run straight to the Zon to pick up the third book because I need to know what happens next! I need it, I can’t be at peace until that has been resolved. What a way to end a book. Wow. I’m in love with this series completely.
Princes of Prophecy starts right where Lores ended. Same room. Same people. Same big problem. It starts off with a bang. I ended Lores with so many questions and thankfully, they were all answered in book two!
Eve, Kane, and Alaric get closer. They figure their relationship out. They go on an “adventure”. Meet new people. Make allies. Sleep in a cozy tent. Have lots of lube. Sounds good right?! WRONG!!! Lies. All the lies. Going into hiding. Secrets uncovered. Training. There’s a lot going on in this book.
Eli is off making evil plans and joining forces with villains. The usual.
Axel quickly became one of my favorites. He is absolutely hilarious and forever loyal. He’s one in a million.
Princes is so perfectly paced. I was never bored. The story was seamlessly written. The spice is so much hotter. The character development is top notch. I loved everything about this book!
Then the ending happened. WHAT?! I’m still processing what the heck happened. Remember me saying all my questions were answered in this book I had from Lores? Well now I have one million more questions! So much happened in the last few chapters. I couldn’t put the book down. All the things happens. I’m not sure how I’m supposed to be okay until I have the next book in my hands.
Highly recommend this one. This world has completely enthralled me. Can’t wait for the next one!
Let's start this off with my mind is blown, I'm speechless, and my heart is in the frying pan right now with that ending, hoping it will be saved in the next book.
I absolutely adore Eve, Prince Kane, and Alaric. We begin this book where book 1 left off. The amount of action (both types 😉🤭) in this book keeps the readers on edge waiting for the next surprise to happen. We follow our favorite thruple throughout the story escaping Prince Eli, making new friends/allies, finding family, learning surprising new information, but also, ultimately plotting their next moves to save Dezrothia from Prince Eli's grasp.
We have multiple POVs in this book, but now we add more POVs. Axel is our fun-loving, protective friend we met in Book 1. We get to see more in-depth who he really is and what length he will go through to help his friends. He is the comedic relief we need through all the action and trials. We also see through Nixs POV and get another view of our FMC best friend and his trials.
Book 2 is packed with action, romance, trials, secrets, and, of course, plot twists. If you read book 1, you won't be disappointed with book two. Warning, there is a cliffhanger at the end that will leave you needing the 3rd book like yesterday. I'll be impatiently, but also patiently waiting for the next part.
I KNOW my opinion will be unpopular here and I just can’t understand all of the 5 star ratings. That being said…
I do like the fact that this book picks up exactly where the first one left off. And I mean EXACTLY. That is definitely refreshing!!!
And now…
I skipped so much of this book. It was so boring…the same overwritten escape to the rebel camp and meeting unbeknownst relatives and then training “surprising” inner beasts and blah blah blah that is exactly like every other book in this genre. 😑
And OF COURSE the book ends on a cliffhanger that you know will work out just fine. Not one of the 3 main characters are going to die (as cliffhanger wants to keep you in suspense of) bc if one does, then they all do bc of their…wait for it…rare and unheard of 3 way mate bond. 🙄
Lastly, I skipped the rest of the sex scenes in this book bc I still can’t get past the hundreds-year-old-warrior-who-protected-and-trained-the- (now 25 year old) prince-since-he-was-a-babe cliche who is NOW fated to him (and the MFC) and having sex. They’ve always had a mentor/mentee relationship, father he never had type thing, and have been like brothers so yeeaahhhhhhh it’s creepy. 🙈
this book throws you right into where book one left off and does an amazing job of capturing the reader’s attention instantly. Evangelia is a strong female badass lead who is thrown into a situation where she is given an impossible choice. NeKane is a Prince of the kingdom who is finding out who he is supposed to be opposed to who he was brought up to be. His growth and strength are some of the best scenes in the book…. Well apart from that one scene in the woods but we wont mention that 🤫 Alaric the big badass general of the kings horde who has dark secrets that could destroy the relationships hes been discovering for himself will they tear them apart when all is revealed? Well im not telling anything! If youbwant to find out then go read for yourself. All i can say is you really need to pick up this book, the plot and the spice is to die for and 100% is a must read book for this year so what are you waiting for go add this to your tbr and discover this amazing world for yourselfs!
I should probably wait to right a review seeing as I JUST finished reading this but holy smokes (no pun intended l)!
This will be a spoiler free review:
MJ Colgan and AC Lawlor have done it again. I didn’t think it would be possible but the second book in this series was even better than the first. And oooh the spice! The story is so well written, you have no choice but to be completely engrossed from page 1. I love that Princes of Prophecy picks up right where book one (Lores of Ruin) left off and that we get more character perspectives as the book progresses. When I saw I wanted to throw by kindle across the room as I finished reading, I mean that in the best way possible.
I said I was impatiently waiting for this book to come out, and will be even more impatient while waiting for the next book.
Oh. My. GOODNESS there was so much about this book to love! We continue the relationship of our favorite throuple, and boy do they keep it hot hot hot 🔥 🥵 The relationship between Evangelia, Kane, and Alaric continues to grow and develop and you just want to scream at the fates to give them a freaking break already so they can be happy! We finally get to see what our lovely Eva can shift into and all I gotta say is I KNEW IT because I was so hopeful she would be a ****** shifter (what, you didn't think I'd spoil it did you? 🤭) The story is full of twists and turns and surprises and love and evil and a cliffhanger that rivals that of the first one by a metric buttload. Seriously, I'm gonna be waiting on pins and needles for the final book in the trilogy because WHAT THE HECK JUST HAPPENED?! Click "buy" right now. I promise you won't regret it.
Spoilers in here. This second book had me hooked immediately. This is my first mmf book and I love it! I think the why choose is my new favorite trope. the spicy scenes are a lot of fun and I think it's tasteful how they are mixed in but not to the point where it makes no sense for the storyline. I get annoyed when stories are mid battle and they stop for sex when it makes no sense so I appreciate how it's sprinkled in here.
I also love how all the misc storylines connect. Bringing all the good characters together for a little found family band together for the battle. I love the little hints that I was slowly picking up in for who the people at the end are and how all the stories combine for the prophecy to be true. I was a big fan of this story and can't wait for the next book.

When I finished this book I lost track of the number of times I kept on trying to turn to the next page on my kindle. After all, that just cannot be the ending of this book? Right? RIGHT! Because I kind of need more answers and would love to have those now.
This book starts up right as book 1 ends and I absolutely loved reading this one! Evangelia is such an amazing character and I loved how her relationship with both Nekane & Alaric, and how the relationship between Kane & Alaric develop. The world that was created was absolutely amazing. I love everything about it and I cannot wait to see how this story ends.
This book...Oh this book... I love that we get chapters from the view of people that are not the main 3 lovers. Getting that tidbit of insight from Elikai's point of view is superb. Do I hate him...why yes, yes I do! But then throw in a chapter from Axel and boy do I just love his goofiness.
We start off where book 1 ended. This book is activity and excitement from page 1. It just keeps going and getting better. Until that major cliffy at the end!?! How did they not know? The interconnectedness of the characters is amazing. I love the different types of gifts between each person whether it be shifting or witch powers or just high fae with extra specialness.
These characters are so special in their uniqueness and I can't get enough! I can't wait to see where the next book takes us!
Devoured!! This book shook me to my core! The first book kept you on the edge of your seat and this book did the exact same! Beyond captivating and draws you into the world in with these amazing authors created. I was able to confirm some of my theories and just couldn’t get enough! I love that they dove deeper into the characters backgrounds but also switched things up so you were still left guessing. Yes there is a lot going on but not so much that you can’t follow. This book read so easily and I want MORE! Create a TV series about this! I want it all! Time to reread this again to make sure I didn’t miss anything in my excitement on the first pass through!
Wow. I thought Lores was intense, but this book kept me up all night 🤯
There's so much going on for Kane, Alaric, and Eva that I was literally screaming for the fates to give them a damn break! Some secrets from Lores are revealed here, and damn were they jaw-dropping!
I loved watching this trio grow into themselves and with each other. The story is heavy in this book, but it didn't feel like it because I got so wrapped up in the plot.
I cant wait for the next book where hopefully all these secrets are out in the open and the squad can finally catch a beather 😬Honestly, I thought the cliff for Lores was bad, but this damn near made me puff smoke out of my nose like Eva 😭
Mikaela and Andi have done it again! Princes of Prophecy was such an epic follow-up to Lores of Ruin!
This book picks up where the last book left off. After that major cliffhanger, we were left wondering what would happen next, and with Elikai in the picture, it was bound to be a mess. With the king out of the way, Elikai is the next in line for the throne, and the worst choice in my opinion. Evangelia is still Kai's prisoner, but that doesn't stop her from spending time with Alaric and Kane, and those scenes never disappoint. This book sees some new POV chapters from characters from the first book, and I love seeing things from their perspectives. The kingdom is in chaos, and new secrets are revealed throughout the book, including a major one involving Eva...and it's so good! And much like the first book, we are left with a MAJOR cliffhanger that had me wanting to throw my Kindle across the room!
I continue to be blown away by this amazing world these authors have created, and I'm so excited to be along for the journey. We're introduced to some new characters and species and reintroduced to some characters we didn't see much of during the first book. Alaric is still obsessed with his eggs, and Elikai is still a huge prick. But the moments with Eva and her men make up for all of the crap that Kai does throughout the book. I can't wait to find out what happens next!
This is the second book in the Legacy of Dezrothia series and my goodness its even better than the first! It starts up right where the first one left off and thank good cause that cliffhanger was brutal. This book keeps you going the whole time you are reading. There is action, reveled secrets, romance and some epically steamy spice. There are multiple Povs which is one of my favorite things, and really helps you relate to the characters more. This book also ends on a cliffhanger that has you desperate for more. I cant wait to get my greedy hands on book 3!!
This book was just Perfection, I didn't think it could get better than the first but I was completely wrong.
I adore the characters development and the development of the relationships between all three😍😍 and the spice!!!!🌶🔥🔥 The spice was everything. The scene in the woods.🔥😍🔥
And Kai....🙄🙄 my god. Just when I think I couldn't hate him anymore he goes and opens his mouth🙄🙄😂
I honestly can not wait to find out what happens next!! If you have read this series yet what are you doing? Run don't walk.
This book picks up right where the first one left off and keeps you in a solid chokehold all the way through. Sequels don't always manage to draw you in and make you fall in love with the characters the same way as the first book in a series, but this one was even better than the first!
We got to dive deeper into backstories, confirmed a few theories, planted the seeds for a whole bunch more, and were tossed off a cliff at the end that hurts so good!
Well…I don’t want to give too much away because if you have read the first book in the series and felt as though that was left on a bit of a cliffhanger then just wait till you read this book. Not so much a cliffhanger as a being thrown off the cliff!!! Relationships truly come to life, some surprise and some become even more complicated. There are a few curve balls thrown in there and I am looking forward to see what these will mean and/or develop in the next book. If you enjoyed the first book then you will certainly enjoy the second.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
This tale is so enthralling, captivating, and I can’t believe I have to wait so long for the next book to come out! Not me sitting over here filled with anguish! Dezrothia is a realm that has been ruled by prejudice and mirth for far to long. This book is a tale of the fight for justice and the journey to writing the wrongs of the past. Ugh! I can’t wait to find out how the three main characters pull this off, to save their mates and all those who have been placed into hiding for being less that “pure.”
Colgan and Lawlor have blown my minds. The ending is a cliffhanger. I'm not even going to lead you on there. However, the writing was my favorite part aside from the characters. It was a great balance of action, sex, and figuring out who you are when your entire world burns to the ground (figuratively).
I can't wait to see where these authors take us next, but if you enjoy the world of Fae and shifters, this is the book for you.
If you like Fantasy and spice read 👏 this 👏 series 👏 that's all you really need to know but I'll elaborate ...
It's soo good that I just want to read it all over again!
Princes Of Prophecy is everything and more than you could possibly think to ask for after reading book 1 Lores of Ruin and being catapulted of that cliff (but of course be sure to mind your step as you approach the end of book 2).
MJ Colgan & AC Lawlor are creating an addicting fantasy world and I never want it to end even as I immediately crave the next and final book to be in my hands immediately.
The plot is amazing! The spice is top notch!
I just want to wrap the characters in bubble wrap and keep them safe, but I also want them to keep kicking butt and taking names. So looks like I will also be biting my nails and holding my breath through book 3. Can't wait 😅
"And there it was, filling my chest was the feeling that had so long been absent. The feeling of finally belonging. I would fight the fates themselves to keep them both."
