Play You

I hated to play her...

But she left me no choice with her betrayal.

Star-crossed lovers doesn’t even begin to describe what happened seventeen years ago when I fell for the one girl I shouldn’t have.

The forbidden. Our Rival. My enemy.

Piper Collins.

She was perfect, despite her family name. Too good to be true... too bad she was a snitch.

Planted to infiltrate our club. I guess ripping my heart out was just a bonus.

And when the truth was discovered, her and her family were dealt with in the only way my father knew.

I buried my feelings, knowing I’d never see her again.

But as I try to set my daughter on a new path, I walk straight into my past, and find myself face to face with Piper.

And when I did, it all came roaring back. The love, the hate.

She played me, and it was time for my pay back.

Because now, I have a game and she’s the perfect pawn.

Dear reader,

Play You is the fourth and final book in the Rebel Ink series. Are you ready for one last journey with my dirty-talking, inked-up, British bad boys?

Did you read a book, and the Main characters reconnect after years apart, and you just know there is a tragic story? But you don’t know the story yet. Your heart hurts, and you start to cry? Ya, that happened for me with Play Me. Tracy Lorraine killed it on an epic proportion. Play you is the best book in the Rebel Ink series. If not Tracy’s best book she has ever written. I didn't want to say goodbye to the guys, and I love them all. But Damon takes the cake.

Dawson and Piper are two tortured souls who have loved and have never stopped loving each other since they were kids, but because of family rivalry and events have spent years apart. They reconnect when Dawson takes his daughter, Emmie, on a school tour. Piper works at the school as she returned to London and hopes her past doesn’t catch up to her.

Damon hides the truth from his family about Piper. He sets a plan to get his revenge for Piper's betrayal when they were 18 years old. The sexual chemistry between the two is scorching hot. 5/5. I didn’t see anything that was coming full steam head and felt every single emotion. The writing is beyond exceptional, and the words just flowed beautifully from page to page. Some of the side charters are funny, and I just fell in love with them. Lisa is my kind of girl, and Emmie, I can relate to her sassy attitude.

Dawson and Piper were the ultimate star-crossed lovers, being from rival families and having hurt each other dreadfully in the past, and I loved every page of their story!

D is a playboy tattoo artist, who isn’t bothered that he won’t gain his inheritance until he’s engaged, until his teenage daughter Emmie comes to live with him. Wanting to give her the best start at life, he sends her to a private school in London, and on enrolment day, bumps into a ghost from his past. Piper was his only love who he thought had died after betraying him in the worst way, but there she was in front of him like nothing had changed. He realises this is his perfect opportunity to exert revenge; use her to get his inheritance and then finish what was started 18 years ago. But he doesn’t plan for falling in love with her all over again. At first, Piper is scared when D is back in her life, but when he starts to woo her, she thinks all is forgiven and it’s a second chance at a life together. But others from their past have different ideas to destroy them all over again, so will it work?

D wanted revenge by destroying Piper’s heart like she did to him, but he soon realised he had always loved her, no matter how hard he tried to keep his eye on the goal. Piper was worried about the repercussions of having D back in her life after her actions as a teen, but she quickly rebuilt the trust she had lost when she let him down, and ultimately, she was the one with the most to lose. Her relationship with Emmie was so pure, two strong women with D wrapped around their little fingers!

I loved the lack of miscommunication over the major event in their past, unlike in most books of this trope where there’s always a big misunderstanding which separated them for so long. Instead, D and Piper were honest about the betrayal from the start, making them seem like a more genuine couple, even though there were secrets throughout. I can’t believe this is the end of the series, but I need Emmie’s book ASAP! Second generation maybe Tracy?

"Play you" is the fourth book of the "Rebel Ink" series by the best-selling author Tracy Lorraine. Told in dual perspectives, get ready to meet Dawson and Piper!

Dawson knows the meaning of the word 'betrayal' . When the only woman he had ever loved betrays him and then dies , he turns into a shell of himself. His daughter was the one thing that kept him going. Now after years he is in a high class school to get his daughters admission there. Imagine his surprise when he comes face to face with the one woman who haunts his dreams. Seems like his little betrayer is not actually dead. This time , she was not leaving him. Last time it was him who got played , not it's her turn.

Piper knows the meaning of the word 'Sadness'. After she was forced to Betray the only boy she had loved , she knew she was never going to be okay. Dawson was the past she desperately wanted to hide but it seemed like it had caught up on her. And this time she had nowhere to run. Because now the only boy she had loved had developed into a hard man , a man who won't stop at anything to make her treacherous ass pay.

This story was amazing and had a lot of twists and turns!! I loved the characters and even though the main characters were phenomenal , it was Ernie who took my heart!! That little spitfire was amazing and I can't wait to read her own book next! A definite recommendation to all the dark Romance lovers out there who would love themes like MC Romance , second chances and Betrayals!

Once the shock wears off from seeing Piper, the one he loved so long ago, the one who betrayed him, Dawson starts planning his revenge. He will use her as his pawn, then when he's done with her, she's gone, just like she walked away from him. Except, what happens when he finds the love he had as kid has never died, only gotten stronger? Will Piper ever forgive him for lying to her and betraying her?

Things back then were complicated. More so now because Piper is Dawson's daughter's teacher, and she knows she has a target still on her back thanks to her history with Dawson and his family. Will she stay this time, or walk away again? Can she ever forgive him when she finds his plans for her?

Play You is a sexy second chance redemption story. I could feel the love Piper and Dawson still had for each other and I was cringing just waiting for Piper to find out, I knew the fallout would be brutal and it was! Thank God for Piper's (and Dawson's) big heart and that their love refused to go away.

This book is the fourth and last book in the Rebel Ink Series and once you pop you just cant stop. This series has been amazing and I've loved reading these books and I recommend that they are read in order. This second chance romance is an amazing read and once I started reading it I couldn't put it down until the very end.

Dawson and Piper have had a connection for a long time but family and life has gotten in the way, When Dawson gets a shock when he sees her he swears revenge on Piper for something that happened years ago only now they both must overcome there past to be able to move forward.
Piper and Dawson both have a past that was hard and they have both been through a lot. When his daughter comes to live with him its and adjustment for everyone then bring in Piper the school counselor which was a real shock for him as he totally wasn't expecting to see her again and their love hate relationship is ignited. Watch as all their lives become a complicated mess of love, hope suspense and drama.

I always look forward to reading this authors books and she is defiantly my one click author as she always knows how to set my kindle on fire as her work is fabulous. I love the characters in this series and the rebel ink men are amazing and the ladies are so sassy and beautiful. This author has written this book so great and the story flows throughout and will keep the reader gripped. They have of the charts chemistry and they will pull you right in. Awesome series from a fabulous author.

Play You by Tracy Lorraine, in my opinion, is probably one of her BEST books she's ever written...and that's saying something since I love her Rosewood High series.

First, this book was about Dawson aka D and his childhood sweetheart, Piper. With a Romeo and Juliet type history drenched in lies and betrayals, the last person Dawson expects to see at his daughter's new posh school is the woman he thought died 17 years earlier. Filled with pain and anger, Dawson vows to play her like she played him...and it was straight 🔥🔥🔥. I swear this is the hottest book of all of Tracy Lorraine's. We immediately jump into some steamy scenes and y'all, D and Piper were AMAZING.

But you know what I loved the most? How quickly Dawson flipped his script. The more time he spent taunting Piper, the more he realized he never stopped loving her. And I loved how honest and forthcoming Piper was about everything. Her hand was forced in the past but she never got over the boy who stole her heart. Add in Dawson's troubled daughter, Emmie, and a couple of my favorite people from the other Rebel Ink stories and I devoured this book.

With a bit of action, some sexy AF chemistry, lies, truths, a bit of angst, and a sweet HEA, once again Tracy Lorraine blew me away. Play You was everything I didn't know I needed and it left me so satisfied with this series, and so excited about where it will spin off to.

ARC was provided in exchange for honest review ~

To be honest, I was expecting for this book to be extremely angsty since we're dealing with revenge, misunderstanding, and second chance romance trope. However, that was not the case. In fact, I think the angst is pretty light but as a sucker for heavy angsty romance, I enjoyed this book wayyy better than I expected. Maybe a little bit disappointed for the lack of angst and drama, but still enjoyed it nevertheless.

Basically, Dawson and Piper were secret sweethearts who loved each other but couldn't be together publicly because of their feuding families. However, an incident happened that caused Dawson and Piper to be separated leaving him feeling betrayed. Years later, Dawson's daughter a.k.a Emmie is going to be enrolled in the same school that Piper is working on which caused a big shock for both Dawson and Piper. After years of feeling betrayed, Dawson decided to get his revenge on Piper without knowing that he's going to risk both of their broken hearts along the way.

In this book, I actually liked the relationship between Dawson and Piper because I can feel the chemistry between these two. I also liked the development that these two have after they got reunited once again. How they heal their broken hearts is what makes this book a total win for me.

Overall, I considered this book as worth reading because it's pretty good and I was able to read the entire story in just one seating. I think Tracy did a great job in delivering this story but it would be much better if the angst is heavier. I truly recommend everyone to read this book if you're looking for a second chance romance trope.

P.S I'm really excited to read Emmie's book and I know that I'm going to love it!

‘Oh shit. This is it. This is where I die, and at the hands of the only man I've ever loved.’

Rating: 4.5

Play You by Tracy Lorraine is a second chance enemies to lovers romance, is the fourth and final book in the Rebel Ink series - although can be read as a stand-alone - and is told from duel POVs.

Another amazing book in the Rebel Ink series !! I loved Dawson (aka D) and Piper’s story and although it’s a little different to the others in the series in the fact that it has a little more of a biker feel to it, it just made it all that more enjoyable. It had some twist and turns, a bit of action and a few hot as hell sex scenes.

I’m sad to see this series come to an end but also excited to see where the spin off series Knight’s Ridge College will take us. I highly recommend this series to anyone who loves to anyone who loves swoon worthy tattooed men with emotional background stories and sassy spitfire queens!

Thank you to Tracy Lorraine and Give Me Books PR for providing me with an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Their story begins like a modern day Romeo and Juliet with plenty of twists. Instead of suicide, homicide and betrayal lead to the demise of their young relationship. Fast forward seventeen years, when Dawson "D" stumbles upon his previously thought dead ex. The connection between them is as strong as ever and, even though she should probably run, Piper can't bring herself to even try to hide from the hurt that she's anticipating.

It's gripping and dark! There were also some incredibly sweet and tender moments that made my heart soar, along with plenty of naughtiness that had my toes curling.

As expected, there were check-ins with the other Rebel Ink inhabitants and their loved ones. 💜 That's one of the best parts of self-created families - seeing how other characters that you've grown to love are fairing after their HEA. 💜

Join Piper, Dawson and Emmie as they board the ship that takes the reader on a cruise over rough sea. Can they steer over the rocks of a bumpy past? Learn to trust that despite the rain and storms they are meant to find that island of truth and forgiveness?

Definitely a one-sit read. You can't stop and don't want to - so make yourself a bowl of popcorn, grab a cold drink and get comfortable because you're going to get lost within these words and the pages will guide your emotions.

Play you is the forth and final book in Tracy Lorraine‘s Rebel Ink series.

And she ended it with a bang. We‘ve all been waiting for D‘s story and I honestly didn‘t expect it to be this tragic!

Play you starts a few weeks after Emmie D‘s daughter moves in with him. After years of not having alot of say in his daughters upbringing he just wants the best for her even if he makes a few mistakes along the line.
Entering Piper Hill. She‘s a counselor/teacher at Emmie‘s new school but when she sees her new student and her father her world comes crashing down hard. Because Piper and Dawson share a past and it‘s not a good one.

I enjoyed Dawson and Piper‘s story alot. From the first page you could already see their love for eachother and their passion was just off the charts.

I can‘t wait to get a possible spin off with Dawsons daughter.

I loved this book! Dawson and Piper's story was fantastic. I couldn't put it down, I kept on flipping through the pages because I wanted to know what’s going to happened next with these two. I just love Dawson and Piper together and their instant connection even after all those years apart. Of course, it didn’t start out sweet when Dawson’s hellbent on getting his revenge. This series is so good so far, and I think this is my favourite among the series.

Rebel Ink is one of my favorite series and this last book is as good as the rest. Play You tells Dawson and Piper’s story. And what a story it was.. Right from the beginning it grabbed my attention.
By the end of chapter one, I knew Tracy would give me an emotional rollercoaster, and I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough to see what happens next.
There’s just something about a single dad who is willing to do anything for his daughter and to fight for the woman he loves that makes my heart race.
Dawson and Piper have a history together that is unveiled trough the story. It’s messy. It’s twisty. But they still have that strong connection and chemistry. I could feel it. That was beautiful because it gives me hope that true love overcome bad memories and broken heart. And that there is always a second chance. If you’re in the mood for a story about betrayal and forgiveness this book is for you.

Honestly, I don't know where to start with this review, except to say that this book has exceeded all my expectations and is probably he best in the series so far. Play You by Tracy Lorraine, book four in the Rebel Ink series, is basically a story about betrayal, revenge and second chances. I mean, how would you feel to learn that the love of your life not only betrayed you but is dead? You've felt anger, betrayal but also mourned and grieved for her. Then you come face-to-face to the ghost who has haunted your dreams for the last seventeen years. That's what happened to Dawson.
In this story, 18 year old Dawson was devastated to learn that the love of his life betrayed him then died. He built walls and became a colder meaner version of himself. His only saving grace was his daughter Emmie. 17 years later, he has made somewhat of a name for himself and is trying to give his daughter the best life, going as far as enrolling her into an elite school. Imagine his surprise when he comes face-to-face with not only the woman he loved, but the same woman he thought had been dead for more than a decade. Anger, hurt, betrayal and revenge all linger on his mind now, and he wants to exact revenge and make her pay for what she did.
Piper feels awful for how things went with Dawson all those years ago, but at the time, she had no choice. Now, all these years later, she can see how her actions impacted him. He is no longer the boy she once loved. In its place, is a hard, cold and ruthless man who is intent on seeing her suffer.
So what will happen between these two, will Dawson exact his revenge? Can they overcome their past? Will he ever forgive her for her betrayal?
This story was amazing with so much drama, angst and twists that make a story exciting. I love how even after so many years apart, the connection and chemistry these two had was still as magnetic as ever. Spending time together cemented the fact that they were always meant for one another and I appreciate how honest Piper was about the past. Did I mention how hot some of the scenes were? Another great story from Tracy Lorraine.

Dawson finds himself having custody of his 16 year old daughter after years of fighting with her mother and all he wants to do is provide the best for her. He applies for her to attend a prestigious school and when they arrive for their interview he finds his childhood sweetheart . . . that he thought was dead. Needless to say his life is flipped upside down and backwards . . . and all kinds of anger come out but he figures he can use this to his advantage to make sure that his daughter can get the education that she needs to succeed in life. Neither one suspect that their childhood feelings would come back in full force and consume them both.

I am not good with recognizing retellings but I got a West Side Story vibe from this one. Two people from different “families” that shouldn’t mix but can't find it in them to not be together. I loved Dawson and Piper and felt their struggles to my core. I loved how reserved they both were but still both went in head first. I wanted to smack them both for not communicating but I still loved them so much. I loved how when the ish hit the fan that Dawson knew which side of the line that he was on and it didn’t matter if family was trying to make him cross it - he wasn’t going to do it because Piper was his number 1. I also adored Emmie and the relationship that she had with Dawson. I loved her role and I loved how she gave Dawson all the grief he deserved. Zack is still my Boo but Dawon is up there super close. All the love for Piper and Dawson. I am sad that this is the end of Rebel Ink but it truly ended on a great note.

POV:Dual

Dawson and Piper

High school sweethearts, star crossed lovers.
Their Fathers, both Presidents of rival MCs, hate each other.
Piper's father tells her to gather intel on Dawson's father's MC.
Both of them fall for each other hard.
Until everything comes to light, Dawson can't believe that Piper played him and didn't see it coming.

Years have past and Dawson's teenage daughter has moved in with him. He wants to make the best choices for her future, so enrolls her in a posh school, as her last one was questionable, like her mother. Dawson has always been an active part of his daughter, Emmie's life.
Until they walk into the school and he's face-to-face with a ghost, in the form of Piper.
They're both taken aback. Dawson immediately wants answers. So he plays her just as she did him.

Piper can't believe that she's seeing Dawson again afer all these years. She knew this day would come when she moved back.

Can they sort through from what happened all these years ago?
What hurdles are coming their way?
Can they overcome them?

Even though Emmie's a teenager, sure she's a bit surly, but she's bright. I loved the connection she has with her father, she wants him to be happy.

I absolutely love this second chance love story with a big twist! It is a steamy hot story that’s both addicting and intense. I related well with the characters and their story. Their connection and chemistry, to each other, easily turned their heartbreaking story into a loving, beautiful one and I couldn’t get enough.

Dawson has always been a favorite of mine, from reading the other books in the series. I didn’t know much about his past, it always felt like a mystery but I knew there was a big story there. I was still caught a little off guard at his shocking discovery. When he sees Piper, it was such an intense moment for both of them. I think after going through what they both did it was a big sign of what is meant to be. Add to that the ease of their reconnection as well as the depth of their love it was a great way to start the new part of their journey. Of course, there’s some struggles and a lot more to it but, I don’t want to ruin it for you. Enjoy it yourself.

There was a little fun tidbit at the end of the book and I can’t wait for more. I love Emmie's character so I am sure it is going to be fun!

It was good

https://ladiikeiii.wordpress.com/2020...

**Spoilers splash here and there***

Before I even get into this book, I want to point out that. I want no I can’t wait until Emmie's book come out because I am curious and I did think she may end up with a book too. Can’t wait to read it and hear the story.” Hopefully have Theo Cirillo's perspective too.

So on with that; the guys from the shop were hardly mentioned in Dawson's story as he was in Zach, Titch’s, and Spike’s book. Whereas they weren’t. I was surprised but I just assume that since his family is in the MC that the other guys weren’t meant to be put into a bad situation.

But it sucks that Dawson was treated badly when he was younger by Piper but they both were young and she made a mistake that was based on what her father wanted of her. But as they got older I guess well we all know Dawson; hold a grudge against her for far too long. I felt like he never forgave her fully for what she did. Even though he continued on loving her. Then learning that she was still alive.

Did something to him. But I felt like he wasn’t going to hurt her the way his dad had brother was planning for her. Because regardless of what he said he loved her and didn’t want to do harm to her. Because once they got back talking and seeing each other. He fell for her again.

Until his brother came and ruin things again for him. I was glad in the end he fixed things with Piper. Not only that got rid of his family. I just was wondering if he still talked to his mom though...

Just when I think I have gotten my fill of the wicked tattoo artists, she comes back with more deliciousness! These Rebel Ink men are tattooed on my heart.

Play You was an incredible story of a second chance romance. These characters, Piper and Dawson, have had a tragic past and have completely lost touch with each other. When they come back into each other’s lives it’s like worlds collide, with all these emotions and feeling rushing back. You are constant on edge hoping neither Piper or Dawson get hurt, physically and emotionally. Dawson and Piper were steamy, whew! They can make your temperature rise. This was a strong book. It shows love can be more powerful and mean more than family.

This was such a great book to finish out this series! If you haven’t read this book yet, definitely do so! If you haven’t started this series, go start it, these characters will make you swoon! I’m definitely looking forward to where Tracy is gonna go next, I don’t think we have seen the last of these tattoo artists.

4.5 Stars for Play You ( Rebel Ink Book 4)
This book can certainly be read and enjoyed as a stand-alone, I know this because Ms Lorraine is fairly new to me and I haven’t read the previous books but as you can see I loved Play You.
Dawson is devastated by the death of the woman he loves Piper, but life moves on and he needs to concentrate on raising his daughter Emmie.
Imagine coming face to face with a ghost, imagine meeting the woman you believed to be dead and imagine knowing you can now get revenge on the woman who played you.....
Revenge can be sweet but will Dawson want revenge or will he forgive Piper, can they both come to terms with the past and what happens when Dawson realises he is still in love with Piper....
This is a captivating read that touched me on so many levels, it’s well written and it has wonderful characters that you fall hard and fast for. The chemistry is sizzling, the story is complicated with secrets to be revealed, it’s raw and gritty and I highly recommend this great read.

As a teenager Dawson fell in love with Piper however with their families at war they both became collateral damage. He believes that she deceived him which created a domino effect that resulted in not only her death but the death of her family. He moved forward with his life and is a single father to his teenage daughter when he receives the shock of his life to find out that the woman he loved and lost is actually alive and works at the school where his daughter is attending.

Piper has spent years trying to make up for the mistakes of her past while she tries to forget the only man she ever loved. She knows that if anyone finds out who she truly was it would have dire consequences so when Dawson shows up at her school looking for vengeance that her life is about to become a whole lot more complicated.

This is a story of two star-crossed lovers who hide their love for each other under a façade of hate that is filled with intrigue, surprises and heat.

This book is SCORCHING!!! D is my absolute favorite Rebel Ink guy, not only is he sweet, but DAMN can he be the complete opposite. He had me melting into a puddle right there on my lounge room floor. His dirty talking mouth had me swooning through the pages of this book. Where can I get a Dawson for myself?

While I wasn't swooning all over Dawson, I was on the edge of my seat biting my nails waiting to see what would happen next. Tracy Lorraine's writing is so compelling and captivating that I could not put this book down. This book is definitely my favorite of the series.

I highly recommend this series (and book) if you love hot, dirty talking men who will set your panties on fire!

I have loved this series from the one and I’m sad to see the series coming to an end. But IMO this author saved the best for last!! Dawson and Piper were high school sweethearts until tragic events separated them and he believed she died. Now fast forward years later Dawson has custody of his 16-year-old daughter and he wants to give her the life she deserves. That means enrolling her in a prestigious school in town and that’s where a ghost from his past appears. Piper is caught caught off guard when Dawson comes to enroll his daughter and she fears for her life because of his father. Will they let his family tear them apart again? And for the record I just love Emmie, Dawson’s daughter, and her smart mouth.

This is the final book in the series with the author bringing strong characters and weaving another intriguing story. She pulled me in with all the drama and anxiety and kept me glued to the pages with all the twists along the way. It's well written and moves fluidly with descriptive scenes. I loved reading their story and highly recommend this book.

I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. All opinions in this review are my own and freely given.
