Lutheran Spirituality

Word: God Speaks to Us

Rate this book
Spirituality is a common term today, but what does it mean? To find the right answer, Lutheran Spirituality directs adult Bible study participants to God's Word. Lutheran Spirituality explores the Bible, Luther's Small Catechism, and the Lutheran hymnal as integral resources for living out our faith in a spiritually confused--and confusing--world.

In His Word, God speaks His Law and the forgiving Gospel of His grace in Christ Jesus. The Holy Scriptures are meant to be prayerfully read, meditated upon in faith, and held on to for life in the face of a world that threatens us with death.

This Bible study encourages participants to understand the necessity of distinguishing the Law and the Gospel in Holy Scripture, to grow in their confidence in the salvation delivered to us in the Gospel, to see the value of meditating on the Scriptures, to respond to God's Word in prayer and thanksgiving, and so much more.

Sessions include:

The God Who Speaks
The Words That Kill and Give Life
Word and Spirit
Inwardly Digesting the Word
Praying the Word
The Comfort of the Word
