Okay, so this book left me sort of not happy with it. This review is going to be more of a rant. First of all: what time period is this supposed to be? She wears a dress but the way her family lives isn't super peasant style. I mean... what? Also: grocery shopping? Hello? Secondly: the whole plot was very... flat. And fake. I'm sorry, Mr. Kilen, but you kinda need to work on this plot. Thirdly: there were some mistakes. I mean like tale instead of tail. Mr. Kilen needs a better editor. (I don't know if that's his fault or what.) Fourth (and my least favorite thing): Annabeth and Ryan. At first, they didn't trust each other, which was cool, I mean you just met each other. Then they were okay with each other and were friends, which happened a little fast but that's okay too because it is a book and they have to be friends at some point. But then at the end, she had to sacrifice herself or whatever (again, plot? so overused) and then all of the sudden Ryan was like 'I love you!' I mean.... what. Annabeth was like 'I love you too!' Again.... what. Then they were... kissing? (it wasn't graphic, this is a kid book) I do think the idea is great (with the ice witch and all that) it could have maybe been expanded a little, and Mr. Kilen isn't a bad writer, he just needs to polish his work a little. I know that I used to like this book when I was little, but I don't anymore so... I did like the ending, it's nice.

This book is really good it was very action packed, adventurous, and honestly I could not put it down!its about a girl named Annabeth and she lived with her two parents and they were very poor, but one day royalty comes knocking of her door and she is forced to live with her birth parents. Not knowingly she is locked up In the castle and only gets one small meal a day.one day she was very depressed and a blue bird came flying in her window, and starts singing a beautiful melody.she gives the bird her last bit of bread saved for her dinner.Annabeth does this every day until one day the bird does not return. Finally she comes back and brings Annabeth a plant that gives her fruit.
The bird goes out and brings a massage to a prince and he rescues her.
Read the book to find more out! I would recommend this to someone who loves action and romance!
WISH they would be a little more exciting! but still a good.BOOK BUT you know what is the best book ever here's the name: UnEnchanted an Unfortunate Fairy Tale
This is a great book, adventurous, interesting and wow I don't have words to describe it Please read If you really are a reader then you'll like this book
As an eight-year old girl, this book was the most amazing thing I'd ever read. Unfortunately, I grew up. I wanted to read this book again and I wanted it to love it and for it to be as special to me as it was then. Sadly, even though I tried to like it, I just couldn't. The World-Building? Not even there. Characters? One-dimensional. Plot? Flat. Ryan and Annabeth's relationship was what confused me most. They don't trust each other at first, and I was enjoying seeing them slowly grow closer, but then [BAM! Ryan tells her he loves her, she says it back, and they kiss??!?!?] If you like simplistic storylines, uninteresting characters, and an underwhelming plot, then read this book. (Ok, I know this book is for a younger audience, so that may be why I'm seeing every plot hole, every little mistake, everything remotely wrong with this book. I can see why some kids would enjoy it)
Books like this are so informational for children and hold such a wealth of knowledge. I really enjoy reading books, like this one and many others to my children, for if you start them young then they will grow to have a love for reading and adventure!
