Big and Little are two dogs hooked on cheese, and anything that lists it as an ingredient. This inordinate addiction takes them on a wild adventure to a magical world where beleaguered gnomes battle against dynamic Ninja Pizza crusts, and other edible adversaries, all led by a power-hungry and destructive cat called Shir. Shir’s ultimate aim is to take over the Worlds.
Whilst unsuccessfully trying to steal some cheese (two vicious guard dogs are in attendance), Big and Little come across a gnome. After bribing Big and Little with the promise of help to access the cheese, the gnome persuades them to help him with his own problem. Blinded by greed, they both hastily agree to do just that. Having done so, they follow the gnome down a hole into a magical tunnel and back into his world where the adventure begins. Here they encounter all manner of scary things, such as evil forests and swamp monsters and, of course, the terrifying and wicked Shir.
This book is lots of fun and quite hard to put down, especially as every episode ends with a cliff-hanger. There are no pictures, but the story line is gripping enough to keep children interested. The characters are, to say the least, unusual, but also enjoyable. And our heroes practise the perfect ethics of: Whatever they start; they finish. When it comes to others; they apply the Golden Rule. Both excellent ideals for children!
Despite there are a few deaths in this, I don’t think it makes it sad for young children. At least some deaths should not. After all, who can lament the passing of a pizza crust? The battle scenes, however, may be a tad scary for some younger readers.
This book is part one of the series and I can’t wait to read the others. In all, this is a highly entertaining and worthwhile read. My only criticism; this book is listed as a ‘bedtime’ read. I think it is an ‘anytime’ read.

You will not understand anything i say unless you read the book or this whole summary will mean nonsense to you. Big and little are two little dogs that love nothing more than cheese. They found a piece of cheese in a factory and had to face vicious guard dogs then meet a gnome and defeat pizza crusts to get it but in the end they just end up meeting a evil orange cat called Shir. Shir was going to take three powerful stones and control all the worlds. it was up to Big and Little to save both their worlds from being destroyed. And all this for a chunk a cheese i would have never done that but after all they didn't know they had to so i guess it is ok. They went into forests of fears, garbage monster infested swamps and lands of giants to get past everything. There is a series but so far i have only read the first book on my kindle. I felt as confused as Big and Little in the beginning but afterwards i knew as much as they did. They had to have courage in them and be very brave. If you do not understand any of this please read the book.

It is nice to read a free e-book, but it doesn't always get you to buy the sequel. This book is meant for the 6 year olds, but it is past their reading skills and too long for a parent to want to read to them.

Doom of the Three Stones is weird. I’m talking Yo Gabba Gabba level weird. My 11-year-old thought maybe the author wrote the beginning while drunk and then decided to roll with it. My husband thought perhaps substances of the more illegal variety were involved. Regardless, while it is weird, it is also really good. It’s well-written with a decent plot and has excellent grammar and an incredibly sophistocated vocabulary for a book aimed at kids. I recommend reading this book as a family read aloud.

The story as such was fun (content-wise). However, the delivery was far below par - it seems that the manuscript wasn't copyedited whatsoever. There were countless homonym errors, run-on sentences, fragments, terrible punctuation - you name it. It's a shame, given the fun story! The author should really look for a decent copyeditor for future books.

Adventures, mystery, and animals

This is a story for young boys and girls who love adventures, mysterious land and animals. As I read the story I was reminded of the movie cats and dogs.
Children well love the adventure action packed story; while parents will be pleased with the good wins over evil. There are lessons which are taught: loyalty to friends, helping others in need, being truthful.
Great book
