Are you tired of just talking about your problems? Have you been struggling to change your life, to lose weight, or eliminate a painful memory? Energy Tapping is an exciting, breakthrough book in the field of self-help. It is a wonderful guide to the power of our own bodies. The acu-pressure techniques in Energy Tapping will help you to stop sabotaging your life. You can control chronic anger or learn to stop picking the wrong person for a relationship. Each chapter explores a different problem and provides a step-by-step approach with simple diagrams that identify the meridian points to tap. And each treatment can be completed in less than a minute. The techniques in Energy Tapping can help you reach peak performance at work, in sports, or in your personal life. The theory is that an imbalance in your energy system creates chronic problems and self-sabotaging beliefs. Instead of endlessly analyzing your life, you will quickly learn how to free yourself from fear, chronic anger, and food cravings, or how to overcome feelings of depression and trauma.
This was one of the first books on Energy Psychology (EP) that I ever read and I’m delighted to have re-read it now, after more than a decade of doing EP with others. In addition to being a great introductory text for EP work and tapping, this book has features that truly set it apart from many other books in this genre including a chapter about energy toxins, a great description of beliefs and their impact on feelings and behaviors, and perhaps the best chapter anywhere on Psychological Reversal and Self-Sabotage.
Beyond the basics of how to do tapping, the authors provide easy to follow instruction and numerous case examples so that the reader can feel confident in addressing a variety of emotions and situations. The page formatting and easy to understand graphics add to the experience and the ease of use. I highly recommend this book to anyone interested in improving their life circumstance. From the seasoned health care provider to the lay person, this book has something to offer.
Most people are probably aware of the basic purpose and potential health benefits of acupuncture and acupressure. Energy tapping follows the same basic premises of these two types of therapy. The only differences are that energy tapping looks at only 17 median points on the body, mostly located in the face, hand, and upper chest areas. Moreover, instead of applying pressure or using specialized needles, energy tapping as the name suggests, consists of light tapping on these areas. This process is so simple that the reader can easily do the therapy on him or herself as needed for help with everything from anxiety and depression through reduction of cravings and help with weight loss to improving relationships and dealing with trauma.
The exercises set out in Energy Tapping are simple to do by following the instructions and using the various illustrated charts in each section of the book. Moreover, the reader will find some relief even with the very first set of therapies.
Great book. I learned that there are twelve major meridians in the human body and that tapping on certain meridian points can alleviate stress in the body. This book is defintely a keeper.
