One Wicked Night

Rate this book
The boys are back in town…

Ten years ago, Kaelin Daume spent a steamy summer home from college secretly hanging out with town bad boy Tyler Wirth and his best friend Nick Kernsted. The connection was warm, complicated, and came to a crashing end when she walked in on her two forbidden friends with another woman. The shocking scene of sex and bondage has haunted her boring, oh-so-vanilla life ever since.

The fallout from that night tore Tyler's life apart. He left Mapleglen, disowned and disgraced, to build a successful advertising career and a unique relationship with Nick. Nothing could bring him back except his sister's wedding, and he plans to hightail it back to Chicago as soon as it's over. At least one good thing hasn't changed: Kaelin is as sweet as ever. Except she doesn't seem too thrilled to hear it.

As tensions run high, Kaelin can't resist the temptation to commit one crazy act of rebellion. Once the web of secrets, sins and lies starts to unravel, though, their lives will never be the same

Warning: This book contains a nice girl who gets her naughty on with two hot men. M/M/F and M/M scenes may cause an increase in body temperature, pulse rate and respiration. Read with caution! For adult use only.

Super meh

I really should break up with this author but she always tempts me with her blurbs.

She does dialogue well but everything else I find lacking but maybe I'm just a mega-bitch?

None of these characters were fully realized and, what's more, I didn't like any of them.

Kaelin is a Mary-Sue if ever there was one.

Tyler is a dick. No, for real.

And Nick is the third wheel. Oh sure, they give lip-service to "loving" him and all but I did not see or feel it.

The sex was decent but it didn't start a forest fire in my loins like I wanted it to.

And what in the French toast is the deal with all the anthropomorphizing? I think a couple of these peeps need to see an MD like yesterday.

In short,

Whyyyyyyyy can't I find a MMF that makes me want to dance a jig???

After reading Rule Of Three and loving it so well, I just had to give another of Kelly Jamieson's book's a try. I must say that this one did not disappoint me in the least. The story was very good and grabbed me right from the start. I really felt bad for one of the hero's in this book. His parents treated him terribly and because of that he felt like he was not worthy of love. With the help of his best friend/ Lover and the heroine the story had a very happy ending. Once again the love scene's scorched the pages.

If you are in the mood for a really HOT book with a good story, than I would recommend this book to you.

Warning, M/M, M/W/M and M/M/W scenes.

Thank goodness it wasn't just one night. :-) M/M/F with some angst. OK quite a bit of angst. One of the guys is the younger brother of the girl's best friend. He never felt like he was good enough or that he could do anything right, so he never defended himself when he was accused of something at 17 and kicked out of the house. Ten years later, said best friend is getting married and brother hasn't been home in ten years, so she's sort of guilted him into being there. Girl is the "good girl" who is tired of being good, and she decides to take an opportunity to have a threesome. And then she realizes the guys are sort of together, and she encourages it -- she wants to watch -- which totally blows the guys away. More angsty stuff happens, and it ends up in an HEA (permanent menage), but I thought it was really well done. I think Kelly Jamieson does character development pretty well. Some pretty steamy sex scenes as well.

I loved Tyler, and my heart broke for him time after time. Well, at first, I thought he was an ass for how he treated Kaelin and how he treated Nick. But I came to realize it was sort of a defense mechanism: if you're an asshole, you'll get what you deserve, which is nothing and nobody. That's all he ever expected because that's all he ever got when he was younger.

I felt bad also for Margot, Tyler and Avery's mom. She didn't have a shitty life, but she did what she thought she was supposed to. In the process, she lost her son for ten years and she sort of lost herself, too. I was glad to see her taking some control back by the end of the story.

Boy, that was HOT. I was lucky to receive this book for free...somehow?

I liked it, except I felt the ending was rushed. But everything was solved, so I can't really complain. But something about it just rubbed me the wrong way. I need to know if they're going to have kids soon!

The side story with the mom Margot was so interesting too. It reminded me of what happened with Cal's parents from "Nobody's Baby But Mine" (the mother also fell pregnant in college, the father was a doctor & able to support them, reputation really mattered to both).

Though I know all 3 care about each other, whenever the couple is more than 2 ppl, I always wonder to myself does anyone like another more?? I almost didn't think about it this time 😩😩😩
In this book, it definitely seemed like Kaelin liked Tyler the most, and Tyler liked Kaelin the most. And maybe Nick preferred Tyler just a tad. If I was in a polyamorous relationship, I know I would like kissing one person better than the other. Like c'mon.

Sorry I am so cynical...

Wow oh wow 😁

This was a great read. One wicked night is a great title for this book. The things that went on in that room fired me up. I love taboo romances and this one was no difference. Raw passion, needing, wanting, seduction.....all in this one book. Do yourself a favor and read the damn book!

Kaelin Daume is a good girl. She moved back to tiny Mapleglen, IL when her dad got sick and took care of him until his death. She's an attorney, and smart and pretty. She's also a nice girl. But on the inside, Kaelin feels somewhat hemmed in by her existence. She knows that she wants more, but can't seem to work through the inertia that is keeping her in place to get it.

Recently, Kaelin has been planning her best friend, Avery's wedding. Avery and Kaelin grew up together, and Avery wants to be married in Mapleglen, even though her life is now in L.A. So Kaelin agrees to handle the details so that Avery's mom, who can be a little bit over the top, doesn't blow the wedding up into something Avery doesn't want.

Kaelin has always been drawn to Avery's family, particularly her brother, Tyler. Two years younger than Kaelin, Tyler has always been a bad boy. He's a successful businessman now, but that's no thanks to his parents, who threw him out of the house when he was seventeen. Kaelin knows why Tyler was thrown out, she witnessed the threesome between Tyler, his best friend, Nick and Tracy, a girl from high school. In fact, she can't seem to stop thinking about Tracy tied up and those things that Tyler and Nick were doing to Tracy. Now, Avery has demanded that Tyler be at her wedding, so he's swallowing his resentment towards his parents and showing up, Nick in tow.

Tyler always had strong feelings for Kaelin, but knew that she was way too good for him. So he resorted to teasing and tormenting her to keep her at arm's length. unbeknownst to Tyler, Kaelin and his best friend, Nick, have always kept in touch. So Kaelin is aware that Tyler is coming back, and she knows it's going to be difficult for him. But as soon as he arrives, the sparks start flying between the two of them. Both are still attracted, but Tyler still thinks he's not good enough for Kaelin. Plus, he's quite sure she'd never understand about his relationship with Nick, which is much more than just best friends. They're lovers.

Tyler is wrong. Kaelin still wants him, and is totally fine with his relationship with Nick. Now the question becomes, what will Kaelin do to make Tyler understand how much she wants to be wicked with him.

This book wasn't without its issues. The author had a ton of dynamics going on within the story. There was a small backstory between Tyler and Avery's parents, which was never really addressed. There was the Tyler and Nick dynamic, which was touched on, but not really fleshed out. There was some sort of a fight between Tyler and Nick about work, which was never really delved into. Kaelin had an ex-boyfriend who had unresolved feelings for her, who cameoed as an annoyance, but was never really expanded upon. Then there was the dynamic between Tyler and Avery AND between Kaelin and Tyler. There was many moving parts, and unfortunately, it drew attention away from the main story, which was intended to be the relationship between the three protagonists, Tyler, Kaelin and Nick.

I think the story would have been better served to have fewer dynamics, and more focus on the growing relationship between the three. While Kaelin is pretty well fleshed out, most of Tyler's past is "told" rather than experienced, making him seem mostly like a big jerk because the reader didn't really understand his motivation for being so nasty. For his part, Nick just seemed to be a really nice guy, who inexplicably loved Tyler, even though he really wasn't that nice to him.

I will say this, Ms. Jamieson writes really lovely sex scenes, well orchestrated and emotional. But the interpersonal dynamics between the characters really made it hard to invest in their happily ever after, and the book ended with me still not convinced that Tyler was worthy of either Nick or Kaelin. While this wasn't my favorite menage book by any means, I'd definitely give Ms. Jamieson another shot. I think she's got an effective voice for romance, but hope that the next book I read by her focuses more on the romance and less on creating a big whirl of extraneous drama.

Final grade: C

The title One Wicked Night does not disappoint! Kelly Jamieson has given us an extremely emotionally charged read with this one. Once I started it,I didn't want to put it down - I threatened everyone around me to stay away…or else. I couldn't stop myself from getting sucked into the characters, the drama, the secrets, and the sex - yes I said it - the Sex!

Families can be so difficult at times, but when Tyler's little sister decides to get married she brings the family, old friends, and secrets together again. Tyler left the small town of Mapleglen years ago and never looked back, now he is coming home with his best friend Nick Kernsted. One person happy to see them is the town’s l’il miss "sweet and innocent" Kaelin Daume.

When Kaelin was younger, her and the boys used to hang out and had a great time together, she even thought that something might come of her friendship with bad boy Tyler Wirth, but no—true to his bad boy exterior—he broke her heart when she caught him and Nick playing bondage games with another girl.

Now—even years later—seeing him brings the hurt and the want up to the surface again. Finally now she thinks she might have the strength to do a little show and tell herself and let them both know that she isn't as "sweet and innocent" as they thinks she is. This time she won't stand by and let what she wants leave. This time, she will get what she wants even if it's only for "One Wicked Night".

Weddings always seem to bring drama or open up old drama... lots of juicy secrets are revealed along with some very interesting new ones that will shock the family. Can "One Wicked Night" be a start to something or is it just what it was meant to be…one night?

I am a fan of Kelly Jamieson books! She gives you everything you want in a book and some. I know when I sit down to read one of her books I will be laughing, crying, and panting for more. So if you’re like me get your chocolate, tissues, and ice water ready ‘cause this one is a scorcher with the M/M/F & M/F/M scenes.

I love a good threesome book. This one was ok.

Just annoys me when a character called Tyler is referred to as Taylor in a subsequent sentence. Beta’s and editors should do better!

I would love to be in a Tyler Nick sandwich as long as they didn’t call me sweet girl.

Honestly, I thought I would like this more than I did. The writing was lackluster and written in third person; lots of he, she, they & no I or we. It felt unrelatable and boring. The M/M scene was a little hot but was over before I got swept up. I felt no real connection between the characters. Also none of the characters had any real personalities. DNF at 40%.

Kelly Jamieson has written and amazing story that is both moving and incredibly sexy at the same time. You can't help but fall in love with Kaelin, Nick and Tyler as the story goes on (what with the sex scenes that leave you feeling all tingly inside) but she writes the secondary characters in such a way that, even in a few short pages, you find yourself loving them as well.

Not a book that I will recommend. It had it's moments when it was okay, but most of the book was lacking. Lacking in emotional connection between characters, weak conflicts, dialogue that didn't feel natural, completely lacking in the point of view of one of the three characters who were supposed to be having a relationship together. This is the second book I have read by this author. I enjoyed the first one. This one, not so much. I will, however, try at least one more of her books before deciding if she's an author I wish to continue reading.

OK, so I'm usually extremely unfussy with my erotica...and the sexiness was fine. But it felt like Nick was just a side character and kind of unimportant. I really hated that. I mean, I know poly-amorous relationships are fairly rare in the real world, but when I read menage erotica, I want it to be about all the players...and it was very Tyler/Kaelin focussed...like Nick was only there to make it a menage, but his bits for the relationship seemed almost tacked on....*shrugs*

This was beyond hot book. Wow I thought I was just going to combust. The characters were just too hot and I loved it. The book touched on whhat happens when the truth is hidden and people get blamed for what they didnt do.The book was beautifully written and I liked that there was different POVs and allowed me to understand the story better.

This novella started out pretty promising but I struggled to finish it. This was basically a relationship between Tyler and Kaelin with Nick sort of in the back ground the whole time. I enjoy polyamarous books a lot but only when everyone is on equal ground and it isn't until around 80% that they even really consider Nick or his feelings. Just didn't work for me.

I really enjoyed this book, but I think some people wouldn’t like it. It’s definitely an 18+ book as it is very sexual, erotic and consists of a mange a trois, which isn’t everyone cup of tea. So if you don’t like to read books like this then this book isn’t for you.

Kaelin Daume is know as the good girl in Mapleglen where she grew up, and everyone loves her. Nobody knows that on the inside she is crying out to be bad. She now works in a law firm as a paralegal. Unable to finish college as she had to go back home to help look after her father after he had a bad working accident and once he passed away she never went back to college.

Kaelin has been tasked in planning her best friends wedding, as she lives to far away to plan it herself. As she knows her mother will go over the top with everything if she’s not reigned in by Kaelin.

As the wedding celebrations draw nearer Kaelin starts to think about her best friends younger brother Tyler. As they became close one summer along with his best friend Nick but during that summer something happened and Tyler and Nick have never been back home till now.

There is still a connection between Kaelin and Tyler, but things are complicated as Nick and Tyler have a unique relationship together. After the wedding rehearsal Kaelin makes a play for both Tyler and Nick even though she has more feeling for Tyler. She knows that she wants both men. Starting a mange a trois.

Are all three of them strong enough to carry on with such a forbidden relationship? What will people think? Is Kaelin really ready to lose her good girl status?

Whewwwwww, what a hot, steamy love story about second chances and learning to not let other people's opinions destroy what you love, have or want. Kelly gave us a story that had you laughing, crying and loving but most of all learning to accept that some people can and some will not understand what you love the most. Loved it!!!

Kaelin needs just one night to let all of her inhibitions go away and do the wicked things with Tyler and Nick that she has been dreaming about for ten years.

This story had some truly memorable characters, to the point that I just do not know where to begin. Nick was the character that I think my heart went out to the most. It seemed as though everyone focused on Tyler’s antics and bad boy image, and Nick just kind of got lost in the mix on many occasions. Even when Tyler, Kaelin and Nick sleep together, the emotional attachment and fulfillment seemed to be mainly focused on Tyler and Kaelin. This forgotten perception really made me sympathize with Nick and made me want to give him a giant hug.

Tyler is everything anyone can want in a bad boy. The author really did a great job portraying him as the person girls want, and men (including his father) do not like. As is the case with many bad boys, things are not always what they seem. While he creates his fair share of trouble, he also protects those he cares about even if it's from himself and his antics. Tyler’s personality reminded me of so many bad boys I know. When you look beneath the surface, you see someone trying to live up to unrealistic expectations, and hiding who they really are.

Kaelin may be a good girl around town, but she is one naughty woman behind closed doors. Kaelin reminds me of the phrase “I want a lady in the streets and a freak in the bed.” She has some hidden desires that I do not believe anyone including her even knew existed. She has given of herself to so many people throughout her entire life, all she asked for was one night to have two men focus on her alone, to give her everything that she's been waiting and yearning for way too long.

The plot in this story was just as extraordinary as the characters. From the wedding of Tyler’s sister, to the romance between the main characters, to a family torn - the author really incorporated everything. It made this story a very easy read, which seemed to make time fly. I was so enthralled by the storyline I quickly found myself at the end of the story and still wanting more.

It has been a while since I have found a story to truly entrance me and for that, I have to rate this story a 5 and recommend it to anyone who enjoys a great romance novel with a little kink.

Being in love with your best friends younger brother is never a good idea. Unless of course he wants you too. Oh and so does his best friend and lover since high school. WINNING!!!

Another wonderful book by Kelly Jamieson. Kaelin was always the "good girl" in town. Always helping and never asking for anything. The only thing she ever wanted was a night with Tyler Wirth and Nick Kernsted. Together. Little did she know this is what they want too.

Tyler has a lot of problems with his family that stem back to his high school days. He is not willing to let Kaelin know about them so he pushed her away then just like he is doing when he comes back into town for his sister's wedding. Nick doesn't think it is a good idea for Tyler to know let his feelings know, but doesn't push him. Nick loves Tyler but doesn't feel that Tyler is really ready to hear that from Nick. So they are both content with their "fuck buddy" relationship.

When Kaelin gets so bold as to ask the guys for what she has always wanted, they can't believe it! One night is all she claims to want. The guys are all for that but Nick knows it will never be enough for anyone involved. He is afraid Tyler's love for Kaelin will overshadow his relationship with Nick.

After some family secrets surface and the truth is all out. Will Kaelin, Tyler and Nick's relationship withstand the truths?

Great book! 4.5 stars

This book was amazing! I couldn't put it down and read it as soon as I'd bought it. It has everything! Emotion, hot sex, angst, lovable characters, a great storyline... Seriously, everything.
You will get sucked into the lives of Kaelin, Tyler, Nick and the rest of the Wirth family. The author doesn't let you forget about the secondary characters, and includes you in their lives, as well.
The plot moved along, providing enough back story that you become emotionally involved in the characters' lives and ache right along with them. Yes, I had tears falling during parts of this book, and other parts were hot, hot, hot! m/m action, m/m/f action, and it was amazing.
There's not enough I can say about how much I loved this book. What a great way to spend a few hours. :)

I liked the introduction to the characters and the progressive discovery of their problems, along a week-end when the heroine's best friend and elder sister to one of the hero got married. This was undeniably successfully handled, with a fast pace, enough angst, combined to red-hot attraction. However after the epiphany scene, I was disappointed by the way the story finally unraveled almost too easily as characters just forgave each other immediately however big the transgressions and misdeeds that had to be accepted and forgiven. Therefore I did not manage to be totally convinced that their HEA would last, as one of the characters still did not deserve the love and understanding of the other two and did not seem that willing to work to make up for his past unworthy behavior.

This was the first Kelly Jamieson book that I have read, and what a way to jump in. This book kept me glued to it until the very end. Hot, Spicy and emotionally charged, Kelly's characters draw you into their world so easily. The deliciously gorgeous bad boys returning after ten years and the perfect good girl they left behind. I loved the way that Kelly brought them all together with a family wedding and how she incorporated the whole family in various stages of drama, not just the main characters. Super steamy, this book was the perfect read to brighten up a cold damp dreary day!

I am pretty jealous of Kaelin right now. What a great story! The story was complex and full of emotion. I loved the character and my heart was especially touched by Nick.

The story instantly grabbed me and I was mad at anyone who interrupted me.

Kelly has a wonderful imagination and writes some hot stories. I will certainly recommend this to all my romance novel reading friends!

This was an enjoyable read, well written and I thought it managed to have quite well developed characters for its length. I read it in one sitting, it felt quite short.
Very hot, loved Nick . Tyler was a bit frustrating, with his whole, I am an asshole thing but I found myself liking him more as the story progressed.
Nice bit of contemporary menage.

I really enjoyed this book. The three main characters had to come to the realization that sometimes love comes in no conventional families. Sometimes a person has to grow up enough to reach for what you want and not worry about what others think. Inevitably, you are the one in that bedroom, not the whole town. I recommend this book.
