Midlife Magic: Love Over 40 #2

Double Miracles for the Billionaire

Rate this book
She desperately wanted kids, but when a One-Night stand with her firms new VIP client leaves her pregnant, the truth might blow up her career – and her life.

Laila:
I used to think that having a family was not in the cards for me. All I ever wanted was to be a mom, but my ex-husband was a total control freak who made me believe it was my fault we couldn't conceive for 20 damn years.

Well, turns out the joke's on him because a one-night stand with a random stranger got me knocked up with twins. And guess who the daddy is? Only the newest VIP client at my law firm. Talk about a twisted turn of events.

Mason is a total pain in the ass to work with and he's made it crystal clear that our night of passion is a distant memory. As if I needed another reminder that I'm on my own for this one.

I can't even tell him about the pregnancy because it'll just make things even more complicated. So, here I am, a soon-to-be single mom with a juicy secret.

Mason:
I thought love was dead to me, buried along with my wife. My only priorities are my son and my career. I've had my fair share of flings, but anything serious is out of the question.

Then Laila saunters into my life and I'm suddenly questioning everything I thought I knew. She's a total bombshell with brains to boot, and I can't seem to shake her off no matter how hard I try.

But when I found out she had been keeping a secret from me, everything changed. I was left wondering if I could trust Laila.

And just when I thought things couldn't get any more complicated, her ex decides to stir up some drama. Looks like I'll have to decide if Laila's worth the hassle, or if I should just cut my losses and run.

Laila and Mason - Love and Family

4 stars because of the following: I enjoyed this book. Although I didn’t have closure on Laila’s parents house being broken into with no mention of police reports or her parents comments, especially since they would have come home to a new door and their old keys wouldn’t work.
I loved Mason’s character…he didn’t even question the paternity of the twins. Why? Most men would question especially if the condoms didn’t break.
Laila finally gets a good man, husband, co-parent, friend, a loving step-son and 2 baby girls. Her life is full of happiness and the crazy is going to jail!

Good Read

This was a pretty good read. Just a few things that didnt add up. Like Laila being a lawyer and stuck with an abusive husband like Jake who was possiveness of her. I just couldn't see Laila being a lawyer on the verge of making partner because Jake wouldn't have allowed that. Mason seemed like a good guy who for a split second allowed his ego to get in the way of being there for Laila when Jake had her. Just glad everything worked out well with them and their new family.

So Enjoyable

Oh my this book will easily steal your heart. It's a powerful combination of emotions and excitement that's so full joy and romance. I really enjoyed both of these characters they are so amazing and together they are just pure perfection. Add in some drama with tons of emotions plus some intriguing twists and turns then you have a story that's full of feelings and so beautiful. This story is truly delightful and you will enjoy how the relationship is built naturally and it never seemed forced and it all works so well. I Highly Recommend Reading it.

A Great Page Turner

This was truly a well written story. I could not put it down! Laila's husband whom she should have left long ago was a first class abusive person! I could not blame her for not telling Mason of her pregnancy at first considering how uncertain she was. But as they continued to have relationship outside the office it was time for her to speak up about more than just the pregnancy! This was a great page turner! Loved it! I do wish that her divorce was finalized and they were able to get married but.....

A good story line but.....

Its very annoying when the author can't remember the characters name. The deceased wife was named Vanessa, Erin and finally Wendy. Other than that, the story line was good, even with the frequent grammar errors.

Good Reading ....

I didn't go back to verify but somewhere in this story the wife's name changed. (You'll have to read it and find it for yourself 😉 I don't like giving away to much info.) Overall, this book was a good read.

another pass through.

Love the concept of these books but there needs to be one more pass at editing. Some of the word placement is funky and there were a lot of spelling mistakes. But other than that, it’s a fun story.

Great story, it was a nice and easy read; not too long and not too short. It hit the intellectual spot just right.

good read

Overall decent book primarily written really well but author needs an editor. The dead wife’s name changed 3x and had to go back to see if I was mistaken.

Short and sweet

I enjoy the storyline and the characters, wish the ending would have been longer to update on everything else like the parents and ex-husband.
