I don't usually "read" cookbooks. But Kate Shaffer tells wonderful stories of living on Isle au Haut, Maine with its 42 residents. From Town Meeting squabbles to job interviews when she was asked if she could chop wood. Oh, and the recipes look luscious. Chocolate-Dipped Molasses Cookies - yum.
