Well, well, well, isn't my life just a magical joyride? Here I am, a middle-aged witch, minding my own supernatural business when bam! Fate throws not one but two curveballs my way.
I'd love to slow down long enough to adjust to the news that I'm carrying Aidon's twins, but that's not an option. A case I can't refuse is dropped into my lap, and I'll do whatever it takes to help a pair of frantic shifter parents find their missing daughter. After all, if a pack of shifters can't track one of their own, something sinister must be afoot.
Armed with our magical prowess, my bestie Stella and I quickly run into the roadblock that frustrated the shifters. The clues are confusing, but every road of this merry chase leads us to a certain Dark witch. You know, the one I thought my dear old father-in-law Hades had under control.
With the child's life on the line, I have no choice but to force a very confrontational family reunion. But getting to the bottom of this mystery doesn't end there, and with every step I take it seems a new trap awaits me. The clock is ticking, hope is fading, and the path forward has never been more dangerous. But helping the shifters is the right thing to do, and I don't know how to quit. Will it be triumph or failure waiting for me at the end of this wild wolf chase?
Pheboe is not pregnant with twins, actually it's triplets. Does that slow her down? Nope! There's a dark witch, a kidnapped child and just a general mystery.
Unfortunately, reading this was really, really hard to do. I slogged through this book for months, MONTHS! I would read a few pages, realize I could care less and leave. I have book 13, but it might be a long, long time before I pick it up!
When I started this Midlife series, I was not counting on Midlife children in a pregnancy that will probably be drawn out for several books. Yeah, no thanks.

In Maine, Phoebe, Aidon, Layla, Tarja, Stella and the rest of the family, work together to find out who hurt Phoebe’s mother, turning her into a tribred. A little wolf shifter child has been kidnapped after school. Phoebe and the rest of the gang, work together to try to find her, but the tainted witch behind this just keeps playing with them. I found myself biting my nails in worry as Phoebe is pregnant with twin demigods while she is doing all this and there are other problems that arise. I found myself also getting really upset and angry at the dark witch. Once again, Nana, Mollie’s mom, made me laugh as she told of Hades & Persephone. Everyone else is terrified of those two gods and yet, Nana is like, “you don’t like it, get out.” Lol
I adore the new nicknames that Nina, Phoebe’s daughter gives Hades & Persephone, so cute and fitting. As is the one Aidon gives Nina. I just kept grinning and chuckling every time I read one of those. Too cute. I feel so bad for Stella’s husband, Todd who is the sheriff. He is the mundane stuck in the middle of all the supernatural. But he is a wonder because he just takes it all in stride. Just amazing. I love all of the characters and since Nina’s birthday party is being set up with the Twisted Sisters (New Orleans series), crossover! Plus the rest of the Backside of 40 show up for the party! I was like super crossover wooot party! Lol.
But, everything wasn’t all fun and games. They had to find the little girl, Kaida first. A giant pile of demons keep showing up at the places they are checking out for Kaida. Where are they all coming from? How are they getting thru?! The answer to that does show up in this book. It made me angry and I’m worrying about Hades now. As well as the rest of the Gods. Can’t wait to read the next book.

Wow Phoebe, Stella and the gang really had their work cut out for them. What an action packed story. It was absolutely amazing! Deadly Quips & Furry Lips is the 12th book in the Mystical Midlife in Maine series and the author did not disappoint. Brenda Trim has a way with pulling you into a story and you don't want to put the book down. Her writing is brilliant and it's really hard sometimes to fathom how she can come up with several storylines in one book. **On a side note I would have finished this book in one sitting but my personal life had to take priority so it took me a little longer to read but this does not reflect how good the book actually is!**
I love the characters in this series they are easy to read about again that is how the author does to make them come alive in my mind. Phoebe is a kick butt witch who is in her midlife and pregnant. Dealing with the paranormal can get dangerous and Phoebe finds that out once again in this story. We have a surprise visit from characters from another one of Brenda Trim's series I won't give away who shows up and ends up helping Phoebe and the gang. Then again all you have to do is read other reviews to find out who the special guests are....I don't like spoilers so I won't give any and I don't read other reviews. I'm just that way.
Honestly if you like paranormal characters like witches and shifters you will love this series!
Phoebe and company are on the hunt for a missing shifter child who was obviously taken by a supernatural. She also has to deal with her mother's tribred problem, her own Midlife pregnancy, her daughter's birthday party, and her in-laws. Fun. The witch who has taken the child is playing games with them as they search for the child's location, and Phoebe's patience is running thin. I love the end of the book where the Twisted Sisters and Fiona and the rest of the BoF make an appearance.
Loved it! The collaboration with the Twisted Sisters, Molly's determination, and the assistance of Nina and Stella's daughters make the story a delight. I was given an advanced copy of this book by the author. My review is voluntary.
Phoebe and gang are back in the middle of a mess... a missing shifter child. To Phoebe and gang any missing child is too many and does everything in their power to find this child. Molly, mom, learns she is still herself and does her kitchen witch potion magic, and at the same time helps others in the same magical predicament! Great read!! Highly enjoyable read from the start. A child is abducted and Phoebe is called in to find the Shifter child. Reaching out to a friend only to find Warlock child was abducted and some objects of power are also missing. She and her friends are trying to get them back, and stop the person responsible before things go from bad to worse. This was a intriguing fast paced story, Brenda did an exceptional job with this storyline. Overly impressed how this series has progressed. A must read if you enjoy a great paranormal mystery whodunit!!.

a twisted connection to a past foe is perplexing- as multiple cases develop concurrently, bizarre and exceptional pieces to various puzzles become more clear
which elements do they hold?
are thry psrt of the same or linked things, or new and distinct horrors?
vaguely connected folks come to the fore - distraction? allies?
getting help for Mollie could prove complicated in more ways than one
deadly threats lurk suddenly and unexpectedly - of course
intriguing connections and community and family dynamics twisted and explored
A Great Book! Another case for Phoebe to solve. What with pregnancy hormones and worries and the nefarious evil that leaves maddening clues, you’ll be rooting for Phoebe to figure out where to look for the unfortunate shifter child that has been kidnapped. The intrigue and danger will keep you turning the pages—so much so that I read this book in one sitting. The appearance of the Twisted Sisters enhances the plot line. What doesn't this book have... This book has shifters, an older pregnant lady with magical twins and a crew of unforgettable, hilarious and tenacious friends. Add in some Twisted Sisters and you have got yourself such a great book! I don't know how Brenda Trim does it with multiple series and every book a winner!! Keep 'em coming Ms. Trim!.

This incredible addition has us on the hunt for whomever took a were child from its family. Don’t worry despite being pregnant this will not slow Phoebe and her friends down even when another child goes missing. It’s exciting, thrilling and the author weaves her magic and fills this with twists and turns to keep us on our toes and I just could not stop reading. Fast paced and fun, I absolutely enjoyed this.
Phoebe and her team are racing to rescue a 5-year-old wolf shifter from Lyra, an evil witch who leads them on a series of wild goose chases. At the same time, they're trying to find a way to unite Mom's three different species into a cohesive whole. This story has plenty of action and romance, ending with a cliffhanger. Very highly recommended.

The demons getting through are a problem, the fate of a young wolf is in the balance, and Phoebe still worries about her mother integrating her tribred nature. The characters are intriguing, the plot is easily followed, and the premise is helping Phoebe's mother get better and finding the missing wolf child. The answers were found and you need to read the story to find out how. I definitely recommend it as well as the ten books before.
This is an action packed story with a bunch of kickass middle aged ladies. Parts are funny, others sad and yet others hectic action. Mollie's transition to a tribred was traumatic. I loved the names they gave their potions. Never a dull moment and a very good book. I received an advanced copy of this book and freely leave this honest review.
A young shifter girl has gone missing, and Phoebe and Stella have been asked to try and find her. Can they find the girl? And will she be alive? With plenty of humour, interesting characters and suspense, it certainly is a great read. I do really like Hade's nickname.

So many storylines and so much action make this book hard to put down! Another mystery, a midlife magical pregnancy, in-laws, and a surprise visit of characters from another series to help out, make this book one of my favorites in the series. I can’t wait to see what happens in the next book!.

This author has created a universe filled with strong characters who have embraced their midlives, magic and all. I really enjoy the way the characters from other series play parts in each other's lives and adventures. Adding in gods and goddesses to the mix is fun too. I'm ready for the next!.

Deadly Quips & Furry Lips (Midlife Mysteries & Magic Book 34) by Brenda Trim. After Molly’s kidnapping she has to come to terms with what was done to her and the whole family are trying to help her. Meanwhile Phoebe is trying to find a kidnapped wolf shifter young child.
Absolutely enchanting story. Love that the witches have familiars. Love how being pregnant and the babies having their own powers to help keep mommy safe.

Love how the babies can send magic out to help in all the fights the witches get in. Also love how Hades has come around and is willing to help. It was great the the sisters from Brenda’s other series made am appearance. Am sad the next one is so many months away
I love this series and wait (not patiently) for each next one. I love the crazy things Phoebe encounters and I loved that this brought the Twisted Sisters into the mix!
I enjoy reading this series, I think the characters are well written and entertaining. The storyline is filled with action, adventure and intrigue. I can't wait to read more from this author. I received this book as a Free ARC copy to read and I voluntarily leave this review.
I loved this book! I was riveted and couldn't put it down. I thought that by book #12, they would be getting repetitive, but this was not! I look forward to #13!
Missing child from the local werewolf pack dark tainted witches tribreed witches forget what they called them play on tribreed . VW bookcase Molly struggling with what happen to her demons
I really enjoyed this story and of course loving the characters. Phoebe seems to never catch a break but always comes out on top. I love seeing The Twisted Sisters, Fiona and the BOF gang.
