[Siren Ménage Everlasting ManLove: Erotic Alternative Paranormal Ménage a Trois Romance, M/M/M, vampires]

Minsheng and Yasuko are wary of strangers, especially those that have fangs. Kidnapped from their home country, the two try desperately to find their place in their new lives. Minsheng is angry and bitter over the ordeal he has suffered through. Yasuko is still so naïve.

Christian finally meets his mates in Pride Pack Valley, but the two may be more than what he’s bargained for. They reluctantly agree to come home with him. Christian has his hands full when he takes them to his club, The Manacle.

Can Christian stop Yasuko from continually venturing into the backrooms where he’s already been mistakenly collared and can he convince Minsheng that loving a man can be a beautiful thing when it’s him and Yasuko showing Minsheng the way?

Trouble finds them when someone is out to take over as prince and Christian must protect his mates from the evil that lurks just outside The Manacle.

This was book 1 in the "Christian's Coven" series this was a short quick read that I liked and wished was longer. Christian the prince of vampires who we met in the "Brac Pack" series I really like Christian has found his mates yes he has two he has known for awhile but he has been patient about. Turns out his mates are living with the "Zeus Pack" they were rescued during a raid Minsheng and Yasuko were kidnapped from their home country and forced to be sex slaves. Minsheng is very angry and doesn't trust people he is very protective of Yasuko and is in love with him but he can't bring himself to touch him or let others in. Yasuko wants to be loved and touched by Minsheng so when they meet Christian he is a little confused by what he feels for him and when Christian offers to take them out he wants to go even though Minsheng doesn't want to. This was a good read Christian knows that he has to be patient with both of his mates he also knows that he will protect them with his life. When he takes them to his club other begin hitting on Yasuko so Christian lets his people know that he has found his mates. When Yasuko wonders off he gets collared by a human Christian second and third in command gets both of the bodyguards which they make friends with Yasuko also makes friends with a young vamp name Shelby. When word gets out that Christian has mates someone tries to kidnap Minsheng and when they attack while Christian is converting them he lets out his little secret. This was a good read this book was well written with no errors in grammar or spelling I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series.

2012 Review:

** Probably spoilerish. **

Oh well. After some skipping around in the next books I decided to forget about what the correct reading order would be and just went again by publication date. Mind you, since Christian referred to his two human mates in the previous book and he and the one following the next seamlessly continues from said previous book and features Christian heavily… there’s no way to figure out when what takes place anyway. :P

So this book? I don’t know. Mostly characters showed a difference in personality from their appearances in preceding books.
Christian was a lot more ruthless and less polite, although it sort of worked and I don’t have an actual complaint with him. Minsheng, though… Okay, apparently he’d pretended to be naïve and simple in all the other books and now we see he is intelligent and speaks flawless English, but to be honest? He is still a jerk. It could be worse but I found that I do not care much for him at all. Yasuko? Here the difference is the least jarring. So it turns out he is just another Johnny or Keata clone, except quiet and refined. But then again, those qualities seem to be reserved for the remaining “small Asian man”. We’ll see how he works out a few books down the line.

I did appreciate the side characters introduced in this first book of the spin-off series. At this point I’m looking forward to seeing how they will turn out down the line and in their own stories. At least all of the next batch here will consist of couples, not triads.

Up next, though, is yet another threesome. Who knows? It could be neat. That is one advantage to reading new stuff. Optimism! XD

typical lynn hagen serial romance. nothing fantastic, nothing so bad it can't be finished. what is typical lynn hagen? imagine a shorter harlequin romance but with no t&a (see, i was going to write no surprise pregnancies, but... yeah.).

out of sheer laziness, i will be using this as my template for all books by :
lynn hagen
stormy glenn
scarlett hyacinth
carol lynne
gabrielle evans

unless otherwise noted. i'd apologize, but i'm not sorry. i figure it's about as much time as they put into their books. dammit! well, i made it all the way to the end being rather moderate in my assessment. that's a win.

I listened to the audio version of this book. I feel I should start this review with a qualifier. This book is published by Siren Publishing, which is kind of like the McDonalds of the mm romance (and mf for that matter) publishing world, IMHO. They turn out lots of serial based books that read very much like soap operas with many characters which spin off into new series. This is not, nor does it pretend, to be great works of literature. They are simply full of characters (usually vampires and shifters with size differentials), an ongoing storyline (that generally has a formulaic “I must protect my mate” vibe) and lots of smex. I have read about 10 over the years if I got into a storyline or really enjoyed a character. Although they are part of a series, they try to make each book a stand alone, but it really helps if you have been following the series for true enjoyment of the book. With that said, my rating of them is on a 1 – 3 star basis. In my opinion, there is no way any of them can be higher than a 3 because to do so would equate them with the likes of Josh Lanyon, Jordan Hawk, Kaje Harper, Mary Calmes, etc. It would be like comparing McDonald’s food with Morton Steakhouse, not apples to apples. I’m not saying Siren books are bad, they certainly are not, but I personally have to grade on a curve.

Although this is the first book of this series, there appears to be two other series in which some of these characters were introduced. So I didn’t get some backstory that might have made this a better read/listen. This was an m/m/m relationship with some pretty hard core baggage. I didn’t care for this but I think it was because I hadn’t read any of the characters’ backstory. In these serial type stories that is critical because the writing if so formulaic, I have to like the MCs. But if you want lots of ménage sex, this is the story for you.

My first review. I guess I should leave some thoughts for the books I've read in the near future.

After reading the summary and all the positive reviews I was really excited to read this one (plus I have a thing for interracial couples involving asians), but I was disappointed it turned into a book with some things that I didn't liked, such as
I only liked Minsheng, but yeah... despite that I just couldn't finish the book.

I really wanted to like this story as I like Christian's character from Lynn Hagen's other series but peronally cannot stand Minsheng - he was potrayed as an egotistical ass. He played dumb around the werewolves in the other series and spoke in broken english but then complained they excluded him from discussion( you think!) Really don't like his character too prickly, confrontational and smug about his intelligence. He was also too bossy and controlling with his other mate Yashuko(sp) Personally Christian got shafted in the mate department with Minsheng.

This is the first Lynn Hagen book I have read, so I wasn't too sure what I was getting into with this. I enjoyed the story and the characters. The story moved along pretty well and I didn't find myself bored. I did kind of feel like I had been dropped into the middle of things since I didn't realize that this was a spinoff from another series I haven't read. I was also frustrated by how the two mates were always described using the same words, over and over again. I felt like I was going to scream if I read the words fragile and fierce again. Someone needs to learn some new descriptors. :-/

Christian finds his mates and sets about trying to get them to be his.
This is a short book which is well written and doesn't suffer from being short
I loved both of Christian's mates and will enjoy reading more in this series.

Surprising I really enjoy this book. I'm not a big fan off the whole m/m/m theme cause I read some other books about it and let just say it wasn't my cup of joe when I was reading it so I was hesitant in reading this book. I'm glad I gave this book a chance because it was not to bad.

Christian is the prince of the coven, and also the original one meaning that he was the very first vampire to be born, and he has found his mates. They are Minsheng and Yasuko, who are rescued from the whore house that they were force to serve when they were kidnap from Japan. Minsheng and Yasuko are wrying of everyone around them for fear that it is all an act and when one day throw them out and sale them again but when they both meet Christian they know they can trust him even though they do not know why. Yasuko wanted to be with him but Minsheng does not for fear that if he was to open up then this time he will be broke beyond repair. Will Christian get his two mates to trust him and have the chance to prove that he is safe with him and he will love them both or will there past be to much for them to get the only chance of happiness when its right there in front of them.

I like the dynamic of all three couple, both Minsheng and Christian are strong alpha type but can balance each other out when the time call for it and Yasuko is the gentle one making both of his strong mate show there soft side to him. It was an interest read and I don't mind reading more about this series, when Christian was introduce in the Brac pack series.

12/20/15 Audible Edition. I have long since stopped reading books published by Siren but, while not remembering the specifics all these years later, I vaguely remembered enjoying this book so I thought I would give it a go on audio. I am now wondering what the fuck I was thinking buying six Siren titles on audio. Oh, I know what I was thinking, Audible is having a SALE!! Woo hoo, let me spend my money! I am going to blame my prior temporary lapse of enjoyment on the honeymoon phase of reading m/m books. Do you remember that time where it was exciting to read anything m/m because it was a novelty and so different than what you had been reading? Well, mine began about six years ago and I am no longer amused by the likes of Lynn Hagen and her ilk. Nope, not at all. "Me the big, bad Alpha shifter/vampire and you my little, tiny helpless, giggling mate" no longer does it for me. Let me also add that this was one the most poorly casted narrators I have ever listened too. These characters are not supposed to sound like they are frail old men. Jonathan Hall is not a bad narrator but he was not the right one for this story.

3.5 Stars. I have no idea why but I enjoyed this book more than any of the Brac Pack or Zeus's Pack books.

This was a good start to a new, fun series. Light reading as ever, I enjoyed finding out more about Yasuko and Minsheng from the Brac Pack series. They were always such enigmas, but here they really come into their own. Much of their 'odd' behavior is explained, and their new situation as mates to the vampire prince is highly amusing.

Yasuko, as the more delicate of the two ex-abducteees, is nevertheless the more outspoken and outgoing of the two. Minsheng is more serious, but he also feels a lot of guilt for not having been able to protect Yasuko better. While Yasuko knows and admits he loves Minsheng, Minsheng will not let himself give in to his feelings, for fear of hurting Yasuko even more.

Enter Christian, who is the solution to the two men's problems. He is the very much needed third in their relationship, who is able to give perspective, make them open up to each other and, eventuallly, become true mates to him. Not even a determined enemy can stand in their way.

If you like three-way relationships, hot men having lots of fun between the sheets (and anywhere else they can manage to find a few minutes to themselves), you will probably like this book.

DNF, about halfway through.
I couldn't get pass the names which I can't for the life of me understand. Names that ends with -ko are famously girls' names in Japan, like Yuuko, Yuko, Haruko etc...
So Yasuko sounds really strange as a man's name. A quick Google search could've shown that. It's like a romance lead being named Catherine. But I could get passed that. Hey, all the power to you, Yasuko, for not conforming to gender norms.

But Minsheng... Ugh, that one was hard to ignore. It just infuriated me the more I read on. Like if you want to write characters that come from a specific country why wouldn't you google ACTUAL names?! At first I assumed he was supposed to be Chinese but nope. Maybe the names were explained further along... If not, this just comes across as the author being ignorant and lazy.

These little books really are like visiting old friends who throw the best parties. This is the first of the Christian's Coven books but we know him from the Brac pack and Zeus's Pack books. It was really good getting to see some of Christian's coven and I already have a couple of favourites that I cant wait to read more about. I have to admit I am a little addicted to these books and cant wait for my next fix!!

It actually bugged me quite a bit that Yasuko has a feminine name for a male. I keep filling it in as Yasuhiko in my head in order to prevent the cultural inconsistency from bugging me too much. And then there's Minsheng, whose name origin is obviously Chinese. The lack of any real cultural background/attachment to these otherwise foreign names, would have given this a rating less than a three if I didn't already enjoy the world the story was set it. =( The "foreign" characters really don't work otherwise.

It was an okay read.

The story was a bit too short. (I don't really like short stories, there isn't really time for development.)
Nothing really happened, except the mating and I feel let down because the real action starts at the end and the next book isn't even about them.
So yeah. Let down.

Still don't like Minsheng, he acts like an ass, so no. Kinda felt that he just made fun of all the wolves by pretending to be stupid and then he doesn't understand why nobody takes him seriously. Here he did become normal, but still didn't like him. He told Yasuko what to do too many times.

el texto es bastante previsible, las escenas fuertes de acción son solo de dos párrafos por decir mucho y las escenas sexuales no son eroticas. además no es muy de mi agrado la poligamia

In Zeus pack books Minsheng was awesome, he was an entertaining character, but now in this book they were all oh so mediocre and no one except for the bodyguard brothers was intriguing.

I was waiting for Christian's book. I wanted to see the change in Yasuko and Minsheng (as we see changes in all mates throughout the BracVerse). And Yasuko indeed flourished but I can't really say that about Minsheng. I didn't like him at first. Then I thought that I somehow understood him. And then again I started to dislike him. Still an asshole... It's a shame that nothing really changed with him. And because of that it received only 3 stars...
