Overall a very good book at times. Multiple contributors and some were much better than others. The others brought down my rating. Definitely worth your time to read if you are interested in historical jerks!

It will surprise some of my friends to learn that there is not a chapter in this book devoted to me. Fortunately, the book's compiler refuses to include those who are not already dead.

Some chapters in the book are five star efforts. Some are one star efforts. I don't always agree with the assessment of "jerk" but the book does delve deeply into some very interesting periods of Montana history, and it's a fun read.

I saw this in a gift shop here and thought the name was funny, so checked it out at the library thinking that it would be a fun read. I enjoyed some of the stories, but stopped midway because some of the authors threw in so much angry commentary that I was no longer enjoying the stories for stories sake.

The title of the book sounds terrible, but the book is full of historical facts that were put into short stories, so it makes it an easy read and very interesting. My neighbor recommended I read it if I really wanted to get some history of Montana that is true and not heard about much. It is a very interesting read.

A tad uneven. Many authors contributed pieces for this book, and not all of them "work," quite frankly. But the ones that do are quite enjoyable. Overall, a fun examination of the seedy underbelly of Montana history and its questionable characters. Murders, madams, bombers, corporate corruption, and general mayhem abounds.

tales of Montana told well, her people, and why it is such a great place.
