The first half was ok.
The second part felt thrown together and repetitive.
Most of these books are pretty formulaic, but this one was a throw away.

I recommend reading this book by an extraordinary author who knows how to captivate her readers' hearts and attention with twisting the magical fires and midlife witchery that will have readers on the edge of their seats.

The action never stops in this one. Fiona, Aislinn, and Violet get a visit from Artemis who, as usual, dumps something in their laps and promptly disappears. This time it is something called the Auric Blaze and it is apparently a beacon for all kinds of supernatural beings. They have been told to somehow connect it to Selene's ashes and it will keep gods and goddesses away from Pymm's Pondside. Yeah, OK. Fiona already has the Fountain of Youth and Selene's godstone on the property, this was the last thing she needed.

A trip to America will ensue where everyone will attend Nina's birthday party and then head to meet up with Nylah to drop off the two OOP. They stick around to help her husband with a werewolf problem, and then visit Fi's kids. Arriving back at Pymm's Pondside, they still have little idea how to accomplish their task. Then the demons start popping up...

I was given an advanced copy of this book by the author. My review is voluntary.

Phoebe, a Pleiades, Aislinn and Fiona, a nicotisa and Violet are a coven of witches who were once mundies. They are also huntresses for Artemis. Now they are now trying to figure out what to do with the ashes of Selene. Then They are visited by another goddess bringing them fire to help with the ashes. Once that's sort of situated they head to Maine for a birthday party. They contact the relic keeper to ask about dropping off some artifacts. Nylah meets them in NC to collect the artifacts. When the girls discover her husband's problem they let her know they will help with his condition. So off to Nylah's house they go. Their experiences there help. But it's like they solve one problem to have two crop up. Will there work ever be done?
A fantastic story of mid life witches that rally together to get things done.

Magically good - The Backside of Forty trio and their posse stifle more magical mayhem. Characters from all the series make an appearance this time. We celebrate a birthday in ME and Nylah and Arjun get a helping hand with his furry problem in NC. The main event, though, is back home in England. They must figure out how to keep a beloved friend's ashes safe from the supers who would steal them for her residual power. A tough task, especially when everyone seems to be drawn to the power of the object Artemis insists will be helpful. The Auric Blaze is mesmerizing with its godly glow, inciting creatures to crave its power. It's gonna get really hot really quick at Pymm's Pondside, and not just 'cause of the Blaze. A magically good read from beginning to end.

This book was a ton of chaos and nonstop action. The beginning was a little slow as the main characters all traveled to America for a birthday party and a meeting with the new relic keeper. This was a whole new set of issues that the group had to overcome with characters from the other series in this magical world!! Once Fiona returned home with her adopted family the action continued to escalate it was one thing after another until finally they conquered their main problem.

These Midlife witches have plenty of challenges to face in this book, but they are a determine crew, so they will find a way. There are still heaps of things for them to learn, which comes from discovering thing later in life. Has Artemis thrown them in the deep end yet again? I loved how they are there for one another, the angst/suspense, sarcasm/witt, and steam. I'm looking forward to reading the next one.

These ladies just can't catch a break. The remains of a goddess, Artimis's "help", the invasion of every magical entity they can think of, and a battle with those same entities. I love every installment of this series and can't wait to see what they are facing next. The coven faces each trial and battle with determination and their own brand of magic. This one was definitely a thrill ride from start to finish.

Family the secret ingredient.
Wow another great chapter in the life of the Bof40 and gang! They just get better and better! A trip to the USA, a birthday party, meeting the Relic keeper, visiting the kids, back home and then the drama begins!! A crazy fire, Selene's ashes, a host of magical creatures and battles for the blaze and taking small moments to enjoy life. Whew a lot going on in this chapter! Love it and looking forward to the next adventure!!

the gift of a bit of the fires of Haephestus is a mixed blessing

the intent might well have been to protect the magic of the goddess Selene. the fires seem to be like catnip to supernaturals, and appear to challenge the wards around the properties, so a really mixed blessing

as other challenges are faced, connections deepen between the Backside of Forty folks and the Twisted Sisters, and the Pleiades Phoebe

complex and dangerous dramas

Wow! Another suspenseful read, even more packed full of twists and turns than the last book.

Just when you think they have been through enough thanks to Artemis, she manages to create more havoc in the lives of Fiona, Aislinn, and Violet and their mates. It's all hands on deck including Fiona's mother, Aislinn's daughter, and their supernatural friends. Received a free copy and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.

The Backside of Forty is in for a ride when Artemis leaves the Auric Blaze at Pymm's Pondside. The fighting commences almost immediately as creatures of all kinds show up wanting a piece of the fuel for Hephaestus's forge. Despite all the fighting, each couple finds their own special alone time. This story has plenty of action, romance, and steam, ending with a cliffhanger. Very highly recommended.

Book 15 and let the chaos and mayhem resume! Artemis tasks them to watch over some super special Godly magical fire but of course things are never as easy as they hope they would be. Action filled as they battle to keep the flame from a whole host of mythical and supernatural beings but no task is too big for our extraordinary characters. This coven’s adventures are exciting and thrilling and I just can’t get enough of them!

Honestly worst book out of every book I've read by this author (I've read over 30) it's clear they needed to pump out another book and didn't have the time or energy. It's a rough draft with a bunch of filler material. You could easily skip this book or just read the last 2 chapters to fill in the important bits between the rest of her series. It was an absolute slog to get through.

The Backside of Forty have their plates full in Twisting the Magical Fires....from birthday parties to fighting demons...they have so much going on.

A fast paced story that keeps you wanting more. Brenda Trim really knows how to keep you reading. She weaves a magical action packed story that you don't know what is going to happen next.

It was nice to read other characters from the author's other series. I love how intertwined the series are and all the characters are wonderful. I really enjoyed the book and I can't wait for the next one.

Highly recommend.

Good as usual

Brenda trim is awesome👍. I love the way she misses the main characters and each with their own gifts. Each has a desire for up lifting others. The uniqueness of each one adds a flavor that is amazing.

Not my favourite so far but I still enjoyed it, to be honest I found it a bit annoying, all the stuff that happened one after the other got a bit boring, but as usual the ladies prevailed, and how did the woman at the end get in when they'd just put up the protective barriers?

Fiona, Aislinn, Violet are the Backside of 40, and they are still trying to find a way to hide the godstone of the Goddess of Selene who died. As well as hiding the Fountain of Youth. Artemis herself, had already found the new Relic Keeper, Nylah, for the OOPS. She also gives them the Auric Flame. However, one of the side effects is that it will drop their wards, which is extremely bad. You’ll see as you read. This series just keeps getting more intense, but it so good!

Mini spoiler!

Crossover event!!! A Mega one. It was soooo awesome to see them together. I won’t say who. Lol.

Aislinn’s daughter, Kalliopi is absolutely adorable and just keeps on growing and coming into her own powers. I love that Artemis is so protective of her. Moving on, so much goes on in this book that I was shocked when it actually ended. I was like, wait- wait, nooooo. Lol.
