A young mother finds she has an admirer who is very difficult to please
Dana is not in a good place financially or emotionally. So when she finds a bag of money under a bush after dropping her kids off at school, she'd be forgiven for thinking her luck has changed for the better.
Unfortunately, things go from bad to worse. She starts getting threatening letters. They claim to be from her "number one fan", referring to a time when she was a popular actress on an Australian soap opera. The person writing them knows about the money.
Unsure what to do, and wishing she'd never found the cash, paranoid and suspicious, Dana is forced to comply with her fan's ever more demanding and bizarre requests.
But when her kids are threatened, she'll have to dig deep to turn the tables on her stalker. Yet putting her life on track will mean confronting her own murky past.
Vanessa lives with her husband and their three children by the sea in Western Australia. When she’s not writing, she can usually be found reading a good book with her cat Bruce curled on her lap. Vanessa worked as a bookseller for several years and enjoyed being surrounded by books of all genres. Her favourite authors are John Steinbeck, Daphne Du Maurier and Ray Bradbury, and in more recent times, Shari Lapena, Claire McGowan and Kimberly Belle.
I listened to the audiobook & didn’t love this narrator. The voice was a little over the top, especially when she was reading secondary characters. Besides that though, the book was about average. Not bad, but I didn’t enjoy it as much as several of the reviews that drew me to it. I found parts farfetched, & other aspects predictable.. Still it was easy to read & since I’m reading a couple others that are emotional & harder to get through (although definitely worth it,) I was glad to have something easy to pick up when that’s what I needed.
Great Book!! It really kept wanting to read more. I’ve never read any of the books this Author has written but I definitely want to read more now. It was Suspenseful. I felt as though the character Dana was actually telling me her story. I really enjoyed it. I will definitely read more of this Author books.
Personally, I feel this thriller was very predictable. Halfway through the story I had already figured it out while I read on hoping for the twists and turns that would prove my assumption wrong. Unfortunately, that moment never came. This was my first book from this particular author. I did enjoy her writing style and I will give her another chance with a new story.

“Your Every Move” by Australian author Vanessa Garbin is her third psychological thriller and is another great read. Secrets and lies are spiralling through the book. Who is stalking Dana and causing her to fear for her life and her children? Edgy short chapters make this a compelling read. Highly recommended.
When former soap star Dana finds and keeps a bag of money, her life becomes a nightmare of threatening letters and strange demands. Another thrilling read. I love a good stalker story and this one is certainly told well. Garbin knows how to keep you glued to the page. Nothing predictable here!
This is a great stalker novel. It keeps you guessing and the tension builds up with every page as a young mother with a couple of secrets gives in to strange demands through fear they'll be revealed. Another showstopper from a great Australian talent.
I honestly can't get enough of this author. Usually authors can tend to stick to the same stories but this author manages to be unique every time. Many shocks and twists. Characters and storylines that are believable. Keeps you hooked. On to the next.......
this was my first read by this author. i came across this book on kindle unlimited while looking for a "Y" book for my A-Z challenge. it started out slow and depressing with the main character noting her drinking problem, then revealing that she is grieving the loss of her husband and struggling to put her life back together to move forward for their kids. when she comes across a large sum of money, suddenly things start to go from bad to worse and her life is basically turned even more upside down than it already was. luckily things pick up storyline wise then and the book turns into a fast-paced suspense thriller that kept me guessing and doubting my suspicions. i will say it was a lil predictable because my original guess was correct, even though i figured that was probably too obvious and the main reason why i started doubting my suspicions to begin with. anyhow, since it was a lil slow and depressing at the beginning and i figured things out so easily, that is probably the only reason i wouldnt rate this higher. still, it was a quick read that held my interest the entire time, and i will probably be interested in reading other works by this author. definitely a good discovery.
Once a successful soap opera actress, Dana is now in a bad place financially and emotionally. Widowed with three young children, she finds a bag of money under a bush but rather than set her life on track it just makes things worse, especially when she begins to receive threatening letters from her ‘number one fan’. A good, brisk novel that keeps the twists and turns coming, Garbin has here built on the promise you showed in “What We Did Last Night”, which I read last year. The characterisation is thorough and believable, the Perth locations are well used and the sense of atmosphere, of Dana’s world collapsing around her, is well realised. As the suspense ratchets up, the characters behave in realistic ways and the denouement - which felt a bit too quick for me - is well thought out and constructed. If you enjoy domestic thrillers, you’ll like this and I would very much recommend it.
Vanessa Garbin’s book, “Your Every Move” is quite good. It is full of twists and turns, keeping you guessing. The book would have been a 4 Star read but for a patch somewhere in the second half that is distractingly slow and repetitive.
Dana, a struggling widow with 3 children, accidentally discovers a bag of money, and a cat .she's already feeling guilty about keeping the money, when she seems to have a stalker, one who knows too much, way too much
The characters seemed very real to me. The suspense kept building to the very end. Good twists and turns to make it a real pageturner I like the way Ms Garbin writes so I will be reading more of her books
This book was a good quick read but a little predictable. I had a feeling most the time what was going to happen at the end. Overall though it was worth a quick read through.
There were alotof twists and turns. Just as you thought you knew what was going on you found out you didn't. Very good book. I found it hard to put down as I needed to find out what happed next.
This is my 2nd book from Vanessa Garbin and it looks like, it's going to be my favourite author, who writes short thrillers to read. Good, short story with good plot, just like the first one. I like it
As others have noted, a slightly predictable end and some silly decisions were made. It does also feel like some things were never explained properly (whose cat is that??). Overall she kept the pace up and I can't say it wasn't entertaining so. whatever. making a Julia success fancam.
The author came through again. Rather hard to describe the book without giving it all away. I'd just say that this author fulfills their obligation to the genre
The book is kind of all of the place. It’s amazing how there can be too much happening and nothing happening at the same time. It’s rather anticlimactic as well.
Another gripping read! I honestly didn’t want this book to end. No spoilers here, but I in no way guessed how this was going to end, but wow was it good! Can’t wait to start another one of these. Keep up the amazing work Vanessa. You truly are an amazing writer.
