Can two men learn to trust enough to give each other what they most desire?
I am one of the youngest defense attorneys at my firm. I have to believe in my clients even if they’re guilty sociopathic jerks. If they are truly innocent, I grieve hard if I can’t win their case. When I go home, I just want to relax. How I accomplish that is my deepest secret.
It comforts me every evening to enter into my “little” space, to go back to the days I had no worries except what crayon to use to color a dragon’s head, or if I want macaroni and cheese or dino-nuggets for dinner. Wrapping myself in soft flannel onesie jammies with feet and hugging my teddy while I watch cartoons gives me pleasurable warm fuzzies all over.
I know there are daddies out in the world who might enjoy a boy like me. But I feel self-conscious about my habits and routines. I’m way too shy to go out and meet anyone. And what if I’m found out by a client or co-worker? My career would end.
But when I go to interview my new client, Makson Ferridyn, my world turns upside-down. The youngest son of a former crime family, Maks is not really a criminal since he was too young to participate at the height of the family’s activities, but his name comes with a bad reputation. I shouldn’t notice him. Or care. He’s just another job.
Then, right after his hearing, I fumble with my phone in my pocket and out drops a candy pacifier ring pop. Maks leans over and picks it up. “Is this yours?” he asks.
I could lie. Or I could tell the truth. Either way, there is no going back from this moment.
Little Boy Blu is a Daddy/Boy MM romance with two men who know what they want but have never been able to show it until now. You’ll see a needy bottom boy, a daddy who has been love deprived, size difference, praise, stuffies with names, onesies with backflaps, a little who likes to be carried around the house, sweet bath times, generous caregiving and high heat (you’ll need a fan) in the bedroom. Guaranteed HEA. This book is the first of my Little Big Heart series, but each book is a standalone read.

Ahh, I LOVE this book! The ageplay was portrayed really, really, really well. One of the best I’ve had. It was all WELL DONE!
I could actually see their connection and the way the story unfold was just perfect. The flow was amazing, not once I felt bored. I enjoyed every bit of this book. It was swoony and fluff. They build their connection through the kink and that was the most amazing thing about this book. I don’t get that a lot soo all of my praise go to this book. If someone ask how a kink can play important role in a BDSM relationship, this book would be the right explanation. They had such romantic dates, I adore that so much. I swooned so much seeing the way they tried the ring pop the first time 😭😭😭 and WHEN BLU INTRODUCED HIS STUFFIES OH MY GOD THAT WAS PERFECT!
That’s how you do BDSM with emotional connection, guys! It’s not all about sex 🥳🥳🥳
They are so mature in communicating especially expressing what they both want. It’s just perfect and my EXACT cup of tea when it comes to this kink. They even had Daddy’s play time. Just. Perfect.
Sigh, this was too good.
“You need playtime, too, sometimes, Daddy,” I said. “It’s good to relieve stress.”
Blu was definitely the best attorney. But he was also the best lover, best friend and, most importantly, the best good boy ever. 🥹🥹
I am in love with this book 💞 it goes right on all my top shelfs. You have to like age-play, because it takes up most of the story. For someone who has never had this before but wants to try it out, then I can only recommend this book. It is the perfect presentation of how age-play should be. Not too heavy on the kink side, with wonderful playtime scenes, loving sex scenes that fit in perfectly. Overall just so lovingly portrayed, gee I'm smitten. Maks and Blu are so romantic with each other, so overly sweet and gentle.
He was welcoming and warm and felt like no one else I’d ever kissed. Like pure contentment. Like home. The world went away. When we broke for air, Blu breathed out a “wow.” My heart tremored. 😍😍😍
“Sweetheart. I’ve been looking for someone like you for a long time.”
The trust and love that goes into dd/lb relationships is heartwarming. I’ve read several, and this is by far my favorite one. Their kink wasn't over the top. Playtime was sweet. Esp when they played duckies together 🥹 The only time I cringed was when Maks gave Blu a "that-a-boy" (he really said that) while giving him a BJ. I'd bite it.
I was a bit skeptical going into this but after reading Iman's Review and Drusilla's Review I was reassured and they were both right this book was amazing. Never read age play and idk if the author did it right but personally I loved it.
i just told someone the other day i like the daddy kink without the age play cos the whole concept of "little space" irks me deeply. however i saw others really enjoy this book so i just went for it despite knowing what i'd be getting into. all that to say, this didn't do anything for me. the age play was actually not the part that bothered me at all, it was the dialogue... one of the hardest things with writing is playing into the kink without making it cringe and unfortunately this just couldn't find a balance. it's cute and if age play is for you, you'll likely enjoy this because the fetish aspect pretty much nails it here. i just strugggggled with every conversation between the characters because it was forced, stilted, and honestly creepy at times. i would definitely read another book like this hence the 2 stars. i didn't hate it and don't want to deter anyone from trying it cos it was still a cute easy read regardless of the quality i prefer. cheers! x
Blu is a hard working second year defense attorney and at night goes to his little space to wind down. He’s been longing for a Daddy to care for him, but too shy and self conscious to meet anyone.
Makson Ferridyn has always wanted a little of his own. As the youngest son of a former crime family, his reputation is tainted and meeting a little feels impossible. After getting arrested for being involved in a brawl at a nightclub he’d visited with brothers, he meets Blu who takes on his case.
Blu gives off little vibes, and Maks is completely enamored with him from the moment he lays eyes on him. After inviting Blu over for a ‘thank you’ dinner, the pair start dating and take on a Daddy/little lifestyle.
Little Boy Blu was definitely interesting, and is honestly unlike anything I’ve read before. I do wish there had been a bit slower progression to Maks and Blu’s relationship, instead of the insta-love thing going on. I feel like a DDLB relationship would need more of a trusting foundation, but they jumped into it after knowing each other only for a few days. Then again I’m not super well versed, and newer to DDLB so what do I know lol
3.8⭐ and rounding it up to 4⭐, because I'm interested in the side characters and their future books.
This was my first age play book and I've tried reading it with a very open mind.
I usually don't like a daddy/boy dynamic, much less age play, so I had to read quite a lot about it to really understand what was going on here.
Age play is a kink that I thought was linked to age regression, which is false. In age play the Little is a part of one's personality that comes out, wanting to be comforted or soothed and the Little does engage in sexual activity, which I had a hard time wrapping my mind around, to be honest, since it's the role playing of the Daddy (adult) and Little (an adult portraying a minor), but there's more to it.
🟡 Daddy/Little dynamic 🔵 Insta-love, but believable 🟢 Size difference 🔴 Oral asphyxiation 🟣 The Little is accomplished and not traumatized 🌶️ Good spice
The Little is a fully consenting adult and for both this is a soothing, sexual role play, both parties involved somehow compensating or satisfying that inner urge to care for or be cared for. It's mind boggling, especially for a first time reader.
In that respect, objectively speaking, I think this book did a very good, gentle job of depicting this dynamic. I wasn't weirded out, so that's a big accomplishment on my part.
Blu is a 29 year old lawyer, who's also a Little, but he keeps that side of himself very hidden. He'd like to find a Daddy, but it's really hard finding a right person for the job, which I absolutely believe, since there's such vulnerability present in this particular kink, the person really has to open up and the Daddy has to be very accepting, sensitive to the Little's needs, very accommodating and most of all, very loving.
Maks is from an infamous Ferridyn ex-mob family, he's 33, an accountant and is a Daddy, but keeps that part of him very hidden, he doesn't let it out, he doesn't experience even the basic intimacy with his sexual partners.
Maks and Blu meet when Blu is sent to get Maks out of jail (for a misdemeanor, Maks is not the bad guy his brothers probably are) and they feel an instant connection on a different level.
When they start feeling each other out and realizing they're just what the other needed and was looking for, this amazing love relationship between them starts to develop.
🔵 I very much liked the pace of it all, they were taking things slow and Maks was being very delicate and attentive with Blu.
🟢 In this story the insta-love was actually very much believable and real, I could totally see them developing feelings for each other that fast.
🟠 I did appreciate the adult aspect of their relationship wasn't neglected, they were after all adult men with important jobs, so I very much loved the fact not everything was centered around their Daddy/Little dynamic, even though it was the foundation for their relationship.
🟣 Both characters were likeable, but Maks lost me a little bit when they started seeing each other, I was drawn to Maks, because he's a tall, dark and handsome, also frightening type, but his intense demeanor got lost when participating in this dynamic with Blu. I understand that now he's the caretaker but still, I wanted more personality.
There were a few grammatical mistakes in this story, but the story flowed and it was interesting enough, although I feel it was quite short for such a complex story and I absolutely feel that the epilogue was much needed.
I'm going to continue with this series, I'm interested in the brothers, of course absolutely in Malacai, the straight 43 year old with suppressed Daddy tendencies. 😉
This is a no for me. It felt too fast-paced, insta-love and no real connection between the characters. The plot, or lack thereof, was boring and I ended up skimming the last 20 percent. The smut was okay, but overall forgettable. Also the age-play was kind of vanilla, and didn’t really add anything; it was more daddy kink really.
CW and tropes: - daddy kink - age-play - size difference - insta-love POV: dual, 1st person
I am not someone that will DNF, truthfully. However, multiple things just kept adding up that made me come to the decision to not preserve through it like I normally would.
The grammatical and spelling errors throughout the book were overwhelming to the point that it was distracting to read. Now, normally I can overlook it but it was nearly every chapter.
Two separate points in a single chapter that sealed the deal for me were in reference to Blu’s oral fixation and his body image. Both of which from the writing are tying directly into his headspace as a little.
“Sometimes I longed to be even smaller than I was, slim and young, not exactly like a child—I liked muscle tone—but small enough to be wrapped up in big arms like the ones Maks had.”, was a major red flag for me. And I could not move past this, especially during a sex scene but in general. Now he does not struggle necessarily with body image but his smaller frame is noted multiple times in a way that is very problematic. Going back to the beginning of the book, it is mentioned that a particular older judge favors him because of his appearance and that is used to his advantage by his bosses at his law firm. That is not to say there’s anything wrong with preferring a twink over a bear for example but the verbiage used was the issue for me.
What had already started to send me was, “His cock was like one big, long nipple to me.”, excuse me!? Step away from the keyboard, please.
All of this aside, I tried to give this book the benefit of the doubt until I looked further and saw it was published in March of 2023. No.
I’m starting to think that the number of daddy kink/ageplay books that have any actual ability to be considered quality literature is quite small as I have once again been disappointed by a lack of any type of emotional depth and a total lack of substance in the ageplay realm. If I have to read one more of these books that devolve into a sucking and fucking fest with any interesting ageplay dynamic skimmed over I’m actually going to chuck my kindle into Niagara Falls.
I really adored this book so so much! Loved how the age-play was portrait here, it’s really been a while since a read a good one. And Maksons and Blus dynamic and the relationship build up was amazing, they just worked out and I was so glad that there was no angsty or forced drama, god it was really fun to read that. Also the new discovered word „cuddlefuck“ an absolute banger haha love it. (Last thing I need to say I adored Blus oralfixation the finger sucking and cock warming scenes were amazing).
Honestly, this was a free book I got in a bundle from an email so I didn’t wanna just have it on my kindle. First of all, the dialogue was cringey AF and it just made everything even more weird. I still don’t know why I read this if I don’t really like the trope but here we are. Anyways, this wasn’t my cup of tea but maybe you’ll like it? I think this book was more of a me problem and not much the book in itself. So, toodles!
Little Boy Blu is the first book in the new ‘Little Big Heart’ series about Daddies. This stars Jonathan ‘Blu’ Blustone, a young defense attorney for a prestigious law firm, and Makson ‘Maks’ Ferridyn, the youngest son of a former crime family. This is told in first person from both Blu and Makson’s povs.
I’m going to review the cover first. I love it. The colors are gorgeous and I can believe the cover model is Blu. Very nice job.
Oh, wow! I loved this book. It’s totally different from the other Daddy/boy books I’ve read. I don’t think I realized what I was missing in reading those books until I read this story. The vast majority of the D/l books I’ve read are written more like a fantasy, stories to fulfill the reader’s kink. The plots are simply told, with characters falling quickly for each other, a little conflict near the seventy-five percent mark, and then the HEA. The plots and characters are usually fluffy and don’t delve deep into what it means to be a Daddy or boy or pet or the characters’ emotions. This book gets it. Through Blu and Maks’ action and voices, the author was able to explain why there are people that desire to be Daddies, why others want to be littles or boys, and why sometimes even in that dynamic, they could be interested in sex. As to the sex, there is a lot of sex. Not porn, but erotica, through which Blu and Maks discover more about each other.
There is a background plot that captures what Blu and Maks’s lives are like when they are working or alone at home, but it isn’t significant. What matters is the deep discovery and emotional connection the two men build as they learn what it’s truly like to be in a Daddy and boy relationship for the first time. I love character driven stories and this really worked for me. I felt what the characters felt and I didn’t want to put the book down.
The author did a good job of creating different voices for Blu and Maks and carrying those voices throughout the story. It was interesting in that Blu had two distinct voices. His everyday work voice was structured, official, and efficient. His little boy voice was definitely young. If one thinks about it, it’s almost like he had a split personality because his work versus home personalities were so different. Maks’s voice was more relaxed, except when he was around his brothers. Maks was the youngest brother of seven sons I think, and he did not fit in with the rest. His brothers were like a sports team or frat house members. Maks was protective, nurturing, and longed to have a little boy he could cuddle and take care of. Blu wanted a Daddy who accepted his need to remain as a boy as soon as he came home from work and stay that way unless he was at work or going out. Both were afraid to show that part of themselves to anyone else because of their position in society. They each took a chance and found what they needed in the other. I could believe in them as a couple.
This series might involve new characters in future books or may involve one of Maks’s brothers because Maks did wonder about one of his brothers. Anyway, I loved Little Boy Blu and highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys Daddies, boys, littles and character driven stories. I give this book a solid, 5 Stars.
Firstly let me say I got this book from gay romance reviews and this is me leaving my honest review. I’ve Gotta say I got really pulled into this story I like both characters and what they had to overcome to be themselves m. you’ve got Jonathon Bluestone who goes by the name Blu Who is a defence lawyer. He looks a lot younger than his years and people underestimate him for that reason. When he gets told he’s going to court to make sure his new client Maskson Ferridyn got off. Blu was really concerned because that family had the worst reputation and if possible he didn’t want to get involved. But his boss told him to get down there and make sure he gets off or with a small misdemeanour. Blu gets a shock of his life when he walks in and comes face-to-face with Maskson He felt the attraction and connection. It was just a shame that his client didn’t really have much faith in him. Maskson Couldn’t believe how young this guy was in front of him. The family paid the firm a lot of money to get the best lawyers they could and they sent this young good looking lad who was just right for Maks. But Blu said he could get it done. What these two don’t realise is they are perfect for one another. Blu and Maskson have a kink, Maks was looking for a little that he could look after take care of protect and support. Blu was a little who was looking for a daddy that could really cater to his needs. He just wanted somebody to care for him love him and take what he feels seriously. So they both get a shock when Blu offers to give Max a ride home and as he was pulling his phone out of his pocket his Pacifier ring sweet fell out of his pocket giving Maks an idea he was a little. Watching needs to grow close together was magical I honestly could not put the book down I was super addicted to the story I like that blue didn’t wanna hide anything he is such a strong man. And Maks is just perfect for him I could read this book again right now.
Blu is the defense firms youngest lawyer and rising fast, but he has a secret. He is a little and that's what helps him get through his roughest cases. He's only missing one thing... a man to call his daddy. When he's asked to represent the firm for a man whose family was once well known for it's mob activities he's unsure how it will go, but Maks and Blu hit it off and discover they're meant to be.
This was a sweet book filled with fluff and love and yes, naughty bits too. There is no angst.
I love this author and have several favorites by her. While this one isn’t one of them it still was a good read. Their take on this trope was unlike any others I have read. I liked how they chose to approach it. I think for me I would have liked to see it develop slower and over a couple of books rather than one. I feel I would have connected to it better. I’m curious to see how the series develops.
OMG!!! I LOVED ME SOME BLU!!! He was the right amount of innocence with sexiness that I dont see that much in littles. That fated meet with Maks was a life changer for both and I enjoyed their sweet and hot relationship. Their chemistry was explosive and I enjoyed this romance too pieces. I was bummed when it ended but the ending was wonderful...I really want more BLU!!! LOL
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
I really enjoyed the contrast in this book between work Blu, rising defense lawyer, and his off-work little persona. His meeting with Makson had so many underlying and unfair assumptions, so watching them very over it was quite entertaining. They end up as such a cute couple.
Such a cute read. Love the age play aspect. I loved the suckling Blu did on his daddy and him being carried around everywhere. I only wish it was double the length and had an epilogue into the future. The end felt very rushed. Still good though.
It's a cute Daddy/ Little story. It's quite short and there isn't a lot going on. No angst No drama Smutty times Very relaxing to read. I wish we knew more about their families. And I think their relationship evolved too quickly. The author spent so much time depicting their first week end together and I think it was a mistake because it made the pacing wrong but yeah. Overall it's a cute and quick read
Let me start by saying I read several of Wendy's books and liked them. Most recently, I read the Moonrise Academy series.
The only reason I gave two stars instead of one is because I usually like the writing and stories.
This attempted foray into Dd/lb was painful to finish. It said the right ish things, but everything was just slapped together.
It really seemed like I was reading an extended outline with a bit of introspection by the characters here and there as a reminder of where the story might go.
Not to mention addressing safe sex. Do you want me bare? And the only answer was PrEP and the Daddy agreed he was on it too and said of course most gay men are these days like that's just supposed to be trusted after their two days knowing each other... There are waaaaay more STDs to worry about that PrEP does nothing for. If you're going to get it so wrong, just leave any mention of condoms out. It's better for everyone that way.
Wrong words used, wrong context.. was there any editing?
When I go through and binge-read authors, sometimes I read their entire backlist; sometimes I just read the books that interest me (again, not suuuuuper into paranormal, not much into historical, only just getting into dark romance, hard pass on distopian). Annnyway, we're not going through to binge-read Wendy Rathbone's works (some of them). Here's "Little Boy Blu" (the first book in her Little Big Hearts series). ["I am one of the youngest defense attorneys at my firm. I have to believe in my clients even if they’re guilty sociopathic jerks. If they are truly innocent, I grieve hard if I can’t win their case. This story was very, very sweet!! It was also very informative; if you don’t know much about the daddy/boy kink/lifestyle (different things) or even the little kink/lifestyle (again, different brings), this book is a good way to learn! It was all open communication and consent and figuring out how one person’s needs and wants can fit with someone else’s needs and wants.
Plus love at first sight!! What more could you want!?!
Someone pop the paci in my mouth because I have a need to suck everything. Mmm hmm ever-y-thing that comes near my mouth will be sucked to within an inch of life. You’ve been warned bc I’m a god damn trained Hoover. Wow. Just everything my little heart needed and so so so much more. I want a bath. I need toys. Dino nuggies (ps why the fuck don’t we have paw or animal nugs??) Please daddy, put me to bed. F*ck I’ll take the padded pants, the less I have to focus on the better. This book just reached me on a level I WAS NOT READY FOR. Preparation would have required me to know what I needed, but only my Daddy has those details. The MOMENT he begs for a suck… I blew my load. Was someone there to clean me up? No f**king way. Did I have time to take a god damn bath? NOOOOOO I DID NOT. Did someone snuggle me, get my stuffies and tell me I’m the bestest boy? No they f*cking didn’t and it’s shameful. I had shit to do so my bookgasm brain (technical af over here) needed to do actual life sh!t. I struggled to EAT while I read a book about an adult taking care of another adult. Clearly b*ches my needs aren’t being fully met. I can’t be responsible for myself anymore. Umm excuse me Daddy?? Yes good boy… 🥜 in the 👖 . Blu baby I thought you were the star. The everything my soul needed. You were a big popular lawyer doing big boy stuff by day, but little boy stuff by night. Alone. You were responsible for your own needs and happiness. That is until a Daddy got in a bar fight and needed you. Maks. It’s hot in here right? You felt the air just whoosh right out too?? He is fine… for an accountant 😮 and runs a ship like no other. He requires perfection from his staff and compensates for it. He is part of a seedy family that is a pain in the a$$. And not the good kind we like. They live illegal lives and thrive, but Maks wants different. He wants a boy to take care of and show just how much he cares. Ooooo and does he care. He cares so much for his lawyer but do they want the same things. Maybe they do a little too much. How can he relate to this confident, attractive, put together man when he is looking for a boy? My #daddykinklovinho heart exploded through this book. It was sweet, spiiiiiiiiicy and f**king perfect on a stick.
I have some mixed feelings about this one but will definitely be interested in seeing where the series goes. The concept is a sweet one. I really like the idea of someone trying to work their way out from a tarnished name they had no part in tarnishing and someone finding a safe space they thought they’d never have. Maks and Blu were interesting characters and certainly the first 40% or so was building some solid romance between the two of them. Where I think the book lost me a little was that there was a little too much sex involved and too little character/relationship development. Don’t get me wrong, I love a steamy scene or three and Wendy does them really well. However, in a shorter book I think there is a risk of it becoming a little repetitive especially if the relationship development is sacrificed for the steamy scenes. If maybe two or three had been cut and instead we saw them actually engaging a bit more (going out together, working out how to mesh their lives, working out the inevitable kink or two - no pun intended hehe - in their relationship). As a result of not having as much character development the end felt a bit… anti-climactic would be the best way to phrase it. It wasn’t that there wasn’t a HEA or anything it was more that all the things that you’d expect may present some level of challenge (not a roadblock but some level of emotional challenge) didn’t. There wasn’t the development there for it to fall back on. I think maybe I have high expectations for Wendy’s books and this just didn’t quite meet them so I’m left feeling a bit adrift. I don’t want anyone to think though that my comments mean I didn’t enjoy it - I honestly did enjoy it and I’ll definitely try the next in the series (I’m kind of hoping Maks’ brothers aren’t quite as straight as he thinks).
