DAMN! Who turned up the heat because it is SCORCHING in here?! K.A. Mitchell brought the sexy and she brought it HARD.
I knew that I would love this book because most people adore this and I loved the first in the series that most of my friends hated. Though that had my favorite trope (gay virgins- YUM), this book also delivered the goods... in spades. I'll admit something to you guys but you can't tell anyone. Shhhh... can you keep a secret?
Maybe it is because my husband is almost 10 years older than me, maybe because I am a dirty, dirty girl, but when I read "spank me daddy" you better not try to tear me away from my book or I'll cut a B!
This book is more than just off-the-charts hot sex (and it is SMOKING). The chemistry between Eli and Quinn felt so legit. I loved to hate the character of Peter and I loved to love the naughty, naughty Eli. Everything just clicked right into place for me. Click, click, click---> AMAZING.
The only thing I would have changed was that ending a little and ::small voice:: maybe a little more daddy kink.

I SO ADORE Quinn and Eli!!!! (<-although, reading a book about a (misspelled) “Quinn” this close to LaL release was distracting…but I got over it... :) )
“Bad Boyfriend” has the exact same story of 80% of the M/M books out there: an over-the-top villainization of a jerk ex-beau, a cutie-pie sassy twink w/ lips to die for, and a big muscled hunk who lives not entirely out of the closet. Throw in some opinionated best friends, a dysfunctional family, and some past my-family-kicked-me-out-because-I’m-gay and the menu is complete. I love these plug-and-play books! As long as the characters are written in an endearing way that makes you want to cheer for them, then it totally works for me...unoriginal as it may be!
Quinn (big hunk) and Eli (sassy twink) were SO GREAT! I felt giddy wanting them to get together and find their way! I wanted both of them to be happy...with each other! And gooooood lawwwwdddd…the SEX. WHOOOOO! As some may know, I cringe when reading dirty/porn talk in books! But for some reason, I was DIGGING it in this one. “Daddy” this, “Daddy” that…”yeah baby”s and “feels so good”s, and “you like it”s…had me giggling and blushing.
Though it’s book 2 in the series, I think it worked ok as a stand-alone. I did find some references to be confusing and I was slightly lost at parts. But overall, it didn’t take away from the book itself.
Fully enjoyed it and reco it for an easy read!

4.5 stars K.A. Mitchell is at the top of her game with this ultra sexy romance between two opposites. Quinn is a 34 year old, ex-Navy man whose boyfriend has left him after ten years to get married to a woman. Unable to totally let go Quinn has agreed to be godfather to their child but he has decided to take a fake boyfriend with him to the christening for some moral support. The night before he meets Eli (from Bad Company), an out and proud 23 year old gay man who is totally what Quinn needs.
Eli is absolutely gorgeous. His snarky, in-your-face, independent and flamboyant attitude is just what Quinn needs. The sex scenes and dirty talkin' between Quinn and Eli are off the charts HOT! Quinn has got this whole toppy, Daddy, thing going on that is irresistible.
The plot is well written. The ex, Peter, is suitably pathetic as the bad guy. His family are a bit weird in their ongoing affection for Quinn but other than that I can't find anything to criticise.
I love the Opposites attract theme. I think this is one of KAM's best books and highly recommend it.

I might be the only person on the planet that did not have problems with the first book in this series, so take my judgement for what it is worth. With that said, I liked this book a whole heaping lot more. I really really enjoyed Eli with all of his issues, sarcastic humor and his neediness while trying to remain independent. I think the only person who could fit him is someone like Quinn. Quinn has enough issues as we see in the beginning of this book, his boyfriend Peter, of which they have been together for 10 years is a lying sack of horse shit cheater. So needless to say, both Quinn and Eli have hurdles to deal with through this book.
As always, I could have had more. The sex between Quinn and Eli is smokin hot, there is even spanking and the use of the term 'Daddy'. Quinn has been saying yes to everything that is Peter's family since that asshole left him, even standing up in his wedding and being godfather to his baby. Peter's family has been lounging along the Denile river for 10 years and things start to heat up as Quinn brings Eli into the family fold. Good times - could have used more of those!

I loved this! It's funny (come closer, Eli, so I can give you a bear hug), it's sweet, and it's hot hot hot.
You'll probably need to suspend disbelief about the Laurent family and their unparalleled ability to ignore huge pink elephants in the room and in their lives for years and years but hey, it's not our fault if they're determined to win the prize for "best cookie cutter-please don't burst our bubble" family in the state of Maryland.
Plus, it was probably that mentality that produced that jerk, Peter. No wonder he's part of the Laurent family. He made it to the top ten of my "hand me a gun please" characters. This time I wanted it to be a large carlibre, too.
But, like I said, I didn't give a damn about the Laurents, and I didn't give a damn about Peter. All I cared about was Quinn and Eli and how good and right and HOT they felt together. And I absolutely adored Eli.

I had waited for this book FOREVER it seems like.
This book was fun, fast, and made me feel good. I spent the day in a chair with this book, and it was my best damn day the week I read it. I'd had a lot of good days that week too, so that's no light praise.
The emotional journey of both characters was just delicious. Their kinks fit so well, but their out-of-bed lives were what they had to work on meshing, and that's why this book was so wonderful. It was also a delightful tangle of roles and expectations: in some cases they fit the twink/bear stereotype, but in others they switched. And eventually it all snarled in a perfect blend that catches the reader into the story's heart.
Fun. Kinky but not weird. Sexy but not gratuitous. My only complaint was that I wish it were longer because I wasn't done with them yet.
Read it.

Picked this up on a whim, as I stumbled across it while perusing my impossible to conquer TBR list. And I must say, I really enjoyed it.
I liked the banter between Eli and Quinn.
I would have rated this one even higher if it weren't for Quinn's moment of insanity at around 80%. Just contrived drama that wasn't needed IMO.
Otherwise, this was a solid read. And the steam was OFF THE CHARTS hot.

Overall Opinion: This was a bummer because I think it could’ve been so much better than it was. The overall premise was what drew me in, but the execution was just meh. It was what I consider erotica because it often only focuses on the sex scenes instead of the romance with sex scenes in what I consider erotic romance. That’s just fine! I just wanted more than what it was. It was just alright for what it was and the ending was very lacking IMO, so I’m going with 3 “just okay” stars.
Brief Summary of the Storyline: This is Quinn and Eli’s story. Quinn is out of his closeted relationship after ~10 years and finding out that his ex is getting married to a woman he cheated on him with because she is pregnant. When out about a year later, Quinn decides to pick up a man to serve as a buffer and a statement of his sexuality when he is to be the Godfather to his ex’s son and Eli is the perfect candidate. Eli is drawn to the older Quinn and has no problem waving his gay flag for Quinn’s ex and his family. The more time they spend together, the more feelings start to develop, and they fall in love. There a good bit of sexy times and some drama with exes…and they get a HFN ending.
Point Of View (POV): This alternated between focusing on Quinn and Eli in 3rd person narrative
Overall Pace of Story: Alright. Lots of sex scenes and an abrupt ending aside, I thought it flowed well and I never skimmed.
Instalove: No. Instalust? Yes.
H1 (Hero #1) rating: 3.5 stars. Quinn. I liked him until he pushed the H2 away. I appreciated how protective he was.
H2 (Hero #2) rating: 4 stars. Eli. I liked him. I appreciated how mature he was and how he stayed true to himself.
Sadness level: Low, no tissues needed
Push/Pull: Yes
Heat level: Good. They have some good tension, chemistry, and scenes. Some BDSM aspects . This had a lot of scenes and I would even say it crossed the line into erotica instead of erotic romance for me.
Descriptive sex: Yes
OW (Other Woman)/OM (Other Man) drama: Yes
Sex scene with OW or OM: Yes
Cheating: No
Separation: Yes, but very short

HOT! HOT! HOT! I loved this story and enjoyed it immensely without even reading Bad Company (I was told by some very trusted friends that I wouldn’t like it). Anyway, I loved Eli and Quinn; hated Peter and Nate and only kinda liked Kellan. I’ve only read a few books by KA Mitchell, but this is definitely my favorite so far.
I really loved Eli and Quinn. Eli was adorable and dramatic. Quinn was, to quote Eli, “completely unavailable, hung-up-on-his-asshole-ex, wrapped-up-in-family-drama, gorgeous, sexy, not-at-all-an-arrogant-dick man.” They both had way to much baggage! The smex was emotionally hot and I love how this author always comes up with different, creative positions. I don’t really find daddy/boy games hot but these two only did it for fun, not as a lifestyle, so it didn’t really bother me. The story was great with just the right amount of angst, drama, and comedy.
I wasn’t sure I was going to like this in the beginning because it physically made me nauseous (I only skimmed the blurb and had very little preparation for what happens in chapter 1). It was like the nightmare of the bad ex-boyfriend that wouldn’t end! But “you-know-who” finally gets his in the end.
I have no desire to read Bad Company, but I highly recommend Bad Boyfriend!

A typical run-off-the-mill romance with a ton of smut and drama. Stars a somewhat bland but sympathetic MC who's pursuing a a bratty twink, while coming to terms with his 100% evil ex-bf's nasty pranks. It's all very unremarkable and forgettable, but makes for a few entertaining hours of reading anyway.
PS It's getting annoying fast to read these constant references to 'old dude looks like granddad, has gray hair, can't get it up so soon' yada yada.. Get the fuck out of here: the guy's only 35!
PPS Oh, and the bratty Twink is 23. Stop trying to make a huge deal of their age difference, because it's not.
PPS And can I say that the doormattish MC suddenly turning into a rough daddy was a bit bizarre?

I can’t imagine anyone that would be okay with being godparent to their cheating ex's child...well nobody that respects themselves.
I just can’t see Quinn going through with this, he was in the Navy, and now a High School teacher. You would assume there is some intelligence there, if not that then at least some pride.
This story was just too farfetched for me, and fell short of the mark.

Reread. Excellent kinky m/m romance about a teacher who's dumped by his closeted boyfriend of ten years, then picks up a hot younger guy at a bar to take along to the baptism of his ex's baby. Things just sort of spiral from there. :)

It's been a while since I read this one and apparently I still love Eli and Quinn grew on me and Quinn's ex Pete is still a big ole bag a dicks...full review to follow soonish!
While the story was awesome...the boyfriend...not so much...
It's been about 4 years since I read this book so listening to the audio book was almost like listening to the story for the first time with the exception of the fact that I easily remembered how much I liked Eli and how much I disliked Quinn's sorry excuse for a boyfriend Pete'
Eli's been taking care of himself since he was 17 when he came out to his parents and they threw him out...he's managed just fine for the past 5 years thank you very much and he's not going to change who and what he is for anybody.
While Quinn's been keeping his boyfriends secrets for the past 10 years...not only has he been in the closet but the door is locked and barred all that changes the day that his about to be ex announces that not only has he cheated on Quinn but the girl's pregnant and he's going to marry her and by the way 'he's not gay'...seriously...if that's what helps you sleep at night you just keep clinging to that fairly tale.
When Quinn's ex not only invites him to the baby's christening Quinn decides that it's time for him to step out of that closet so after spending one very hot and steamy night with Eli, he knows what he wants to do. So with Eli as his plus one it's off to the christening they go. It's just one date, one f*ck you to Quinn's ex...right? Wrong because maybe Eli and Quinn have been a bit too convincing and everyone there decides that Quinn and Eli make a wonderful couple and suddenly Eli is very in demand with the family of Quinn's ex since Quinn's been around for the past 10 years, he's become a part of that family as well...what can I say...it's family...it's complicated.
I have to admit I'd forgotten that this book has both an age gap and a bit of daddy kink to it and I found it interesting that 4 years ago I probably would have blushed when I read it but here we are 4 years and literally a few hundred stories later and I have to admit this time around it barely blipped on my radar...well, except that I have to admit the daddy kink did add a definite spark to the sexy times.
It may have taken me a little longer to warm up to Quinn than it did Eli but in the end. I liked him and I have to admit I couldn't help but feel bad for him 10 years of being someone's dirty little secret and he basically gets put out like last weeks trash when his ex discovers that he's gotten a woman pregnant and now he can be all respectable with is wife and kid...because he's not gay...maybe yes, maybe no but what is a big fat hell yeah! is the fact that he's a grade 'A' jerk, who needs to discover why so many people think Karma's a big ole biotch! If there was anyone one person in this story deserving of contempt it was Pete. Quinn's ex and supposed best friend...the man is a waste of oxygen.
Awesome story, smokin' hot sex, MC's who fit together like a pair of gloves, some likable secondary characters and a narrator who gives life to it with each character that he brings to life and every scene that he adds color, emotion and passion too. 'Bad Boyfriend' may not have been my first K.A. Mitchell story but it was my first Chet Daniel's audio book and I thoroughly enjoyed it and I'm looking forward to hearing more from this narrator.

Wrong because maybe Eli and Quinn have been a bit too convincing and everyone there decides that Quinn and Eli make a wonderful couple and suddenly Eli is very in demand with the family of Quinn's ex since Quinn's been around for the past 10 years, he's become a part of that family as well...what can I say...it's family...it's complicated.
I have to admit I'd forgotten that this book has both an age gap and a bit of daddy kink to it and I found it interesting that 4 years ago I probably would have blushed when I read it but here we are 4 years and literally a few hundred stories later and I have to admit this time around it barely blipped on my radar...well, except that I have to admit the daddy kink did add a definite spark to the sexy times.
It may have taken me a little longer to warm up to Quinn than it did Eli but in the end. I liked him and I have to admit I couldn't help but feel bad for him 10 years of being someone's dirty little secret and he basically gets put out like last weeks trash when his ex discovers that he's gotten a woman pregnant and now he can be all respectable with is wife and kid...because he's not gay...maybe yes, maybe no but what is a big fat hell yeah! is the fact that he's a grade 'A' jerk, who needs to discover why so many people think Karma's a big ole biotch! If there was anyone one person in this story deserving of contempt it was Pete. Quinn's ex and supposed best friend...the man is a waste of oxygen.
Awesome story, smokin' hot sex, MC's who fit together like a pair of gloves, some likable secondary characters and a narrator who gives life to it with each character that he brings to life and every scene that he adds color, emotion and passion too. 'Bad Boyfriend' may not have been my first K.A. Mitchell story but it was my first Chet Daniel's audio book and I thoroughly enjoyed it and I'm looking forward to hearing more from this narrator.

Audio Review 21Jan2019: No change
I love looking back at reviews to see how my interests have changed. When I first read this I wasn't all that keen on Daddy Kink...and now this feels like Daddy Kink-lite considering some of my more recent AB/DL reads!!

At first I thought Eli was a little annoying - he irked me. But, slowly, I grew to appreciate his eccentricities. He was unapologetically Eli and that's a brave thing to be.
Again, with the fucking ridiculously hot sex and sweet romantic story arc. I don't get the whole "impact" kink, but more power to him and his "Daddy" (which is another limit I've pushed this year since I'm usually not fond of that kind of age difference or role-play) (Go me) and I'm happy he got the home he always wanted, to be loved and treasured as he deserved.
As usual for a series, some of the other characters seem more intriguing and I believe a good author does that to entice a reader into the next book...sometimes they do it well and you don't lose sight of the characters you're supposed to be focusing on. K.A. Mitchell does it really well; I'm not skimming the current book, waiting for the resolution, just to get to the newly introduced characters. Believe it or not, that's a rarity. Especially for me.
Also, I think I need to add a BDSM shelf...why the hell don't I already have one of those?

I need to stop at 46%. It's just too stupid to continue. The plot is so cliché that I wonder how people don't get fed up on this. Peter (the a-hole) dumps Quinn after ten years of living together. Quinn is so mature that he decides to bring a hot twinkie to the baptism of his ex's son to, what? show him he has moved on, even when it's totally a lie? Proud much? Like I was saying, Eli goes to the party and he happens to be the perfect boyfriend, and by perfect I mean everybody loves him: "Even Peter’s dad, Roger, laughed with Eli about some sly remark on Baltimore politics." Whoa boy! Tell me your secret to charm a whole family, I beg you.
Eli and Quinn have less chemistry than Jodie Foster and Richard Gere in Sommersby. Even Kellan fits more with Eli. How can they be so attracted to each other after sleeping together? What is the difference between Eli and any other guy? Quinn uses him, Eli does his job. There aren't feelings involved. This one was so much better than Bad Company.
I absolutely loved Eli--he's freaking amazing--and Quinn, when he wasn't fucking up, was great too. They were so gosh darn cute.
Peter was a bastard. Ugh.
I was surprised by the Daddy kink. I enjoyed the hell out of it, but surprised nevertheless.
The ending was really abrupt, though.
Nevertheless, it was an awesome read.

This is the second book in a series, but it would stand alone well enough. The MCs from the first are only secondary characters. (And Nate is still a jerk.) Also, since this is a Samhain book, it ends with about 30 pages left for other excerpts (something which I try to remember will happen, but often don't, and find frustrating, so I thought I'd put this note up front here for other readers.)
I liked this book a lot more than the first one, mainly because the characters are much more appealing. Eli was my favorite guy from book 1. Here he is sweet, a bit prickly, trying to be independent while his job is downsizing and his money is running out. He had a rough period in his teens, has few options, and a lot of pride. He meets Quinn in a club, and enjoys going home with him. But despite the neediness he tries to keep hidden, he's not sure he wants what Quinn is offering. Especially when part of what Quinn seems to need him for is proof-of-gayness to throw into the face of his ex-boyfriend and relatives.
Quinn has been sucker-punched. He was with Peter for ten years, and even though some of the time he was away in the service, and even though they weren't really out or into displays and words of affection, Quinn had thought this was the guy he'd grow old with. But Peter's self-loathing led him to cheat on Quinn with a woman, and she got pregnant, and Peter decided the pretty heterosexual life was more valuable than ten years of faithful companionship.
Quinn has tried to move on, but he's in a bind, because Peter's family has really become his own. They were there for him, through all the tough times, for ten years. He has no family of his own, and they still want him around, even though they're dancing to Peter's tune of not admitting why Quinn is part of their inner circle. Quinn can't just cut lose of the Peter part of his life, because he'd lose everyone he cares about. So he's trapped, going to Peter's wedding, spending holidays, pretending like it's not eating at him to see Peter play the straight husband, when Quinn was still fucking him right until the night he left.
Quinn needs to do something to break out of this unfair silence. But all he allows himself is a gesture, something to rub everyone's faces in the fact that he's really, truly gay, and by extension that Peter wasn't some one-off. When he sees Eli dancing, with his eyeliner and his body jewelery and his sinuous moves, Quinn is struck by how perfect he is. Perfect for a night in bed, and perfect for a completely unmistakable gay date to Peter's son's baptism.
It won't take long for him to realize that the guy behind the eyeliner is perfect for much more than that. But a relationship that started as slightly kinky sex, and moved on to using Eli as a signboard and a weapon, is hard to turn into a forever thing without getting messy.
I enjoyed the story, with its mix of secondary characters, and two MCs who begin with something simple, move on to using each other in different ways, and then have to battle to get past that. Peter is a slimeball, and it's hard to see how he kept Quinn so long. I'd actually have preferred that he wasn't such an unredeemable loser, because it would have reflected better on Quinn, and on the actions of the relatives, and added poignancy. Quinn felt a bit wimpy and passive-aggressive in the way he approached this, given how Peter behaved. If Peter had been more honorable and simply torn between competing needs, then Quinn's and his whole family's restraint would have felt more appropriate too.
The way the story played out was fun to watch, though, and I fell for both the MCs.
There is a fair amount of hot sex with a bit of kink; some mild restraint/spanking BDSM and the tendency to have Eli call Quinn "Daddy" in bed. That's one of my squicks - I'm fine with age gap, and can even put up with real adult incest if both adults are fully mature and consenting parties without a power balance, but "Daddy" is childish-sounding and age-play where a sex participant pretends to be a child isn't sexy at all to me. In this case, it's just the word and a feeling of Quinn as older/mature/protective, so it was all right, but I skipped the word when it came up. Purely a personal preference of mine - Eli is 23 and more than old enough for the relationship.
So while not my favorite K.A. Mitchell (that would be Collision Course) I did enjoy this a lot, and may reread it someday.

It’s about time I got round to reading this one huh? Not that I’ve even read the first one in the series but everyone, and I mean everyone (!) has read this book and loved it or at least liked it a lot. I’m late to the party but I made it! YAY!
I’m so glad I made the effort because this was, uh-hem …so rewarding. A real one handed white knuckle read; {cue lascivious wink} if you know what I mean? Ha! Of course you do, you’ve probably read it. So there’s no need for me to remind you that this book is HOT! Sizzling, on fire, delicious, luscious, kinky, yummy thigh clenching … HOT. I haven’t read chemistry like this since …last week at least and considering I hate Daddy kink, I couldn’t deny that for the first time in my life, just for a second, I wanted to roll over and whisper in my husbands ear: ‘hey daddy ‘o you wanna …’ Thank God I didn’t! He’s English for gawds sakes …
Okay, full body flushes and rampant libidos aside; it’s pretty much the same old contemporary run of the mill stuff with bad ex’s (I’m including that Nate fella too), family drama’s (yawn) and so on, but Quinn and Eli are a pretty awesome couple; I love the age gap thing, the older hero (even though 35 is NOT fucking old!) with baggage vs the younger snarky sexy twink who needs a break. I loved their interaction, their chemistry and well, I just loved them together, they were sweet and sexy and just so …right for each other. Their story is so easy to read; they didn’t piss me off or irritate me, even when I got to the proverbial 75% point and I knew it’s time for one of them to screw up so ridiculously just so that they could properly get their shit together.
Oh and I have to mention: it was so much fun hating on Peter, the bastard ex. He was just such a fabulous knob head to vilify wasn’t he? So credible and so pathetic a character that I actually felt kind of sorry for him. Kind of…
I read this as a standalone in one sitting without putting it down. It was easy reading, entertaining, and highly erotic. But I do feel that I probably won’t remember these characters in a few days and it’s more than likely I won’t recall anything else beyond, ‘It was HOT’ in a week from now. I have no regrets though, you all were right. It was pretty darn good and I really liked it.

What's the best way I can describe my feelings for this book? You know when you're lighting your stove and you have to hold it in the clicking position for the flame to ignite before you pick your heat level.....yeah, that's how I feel about this. The whole book just kept clicking without every igniting.
I think I was expecting a little bit of a meatier story. There was so much deeper K.A. Mitchell could have gone with the characters. I wanted more background and history when it came to Quinn and especially Eli...just a bit more than I got.
However, that's not to say this wasn't an enjoyable book. It sure was! First and foremost, I will say that Quinn and Eli seriously melted the edges off my kindle!! They were smoking HOT....just WOWZA...although I could have done without the Daddy kink. Sorry...
The progression of their relationship was pretty believable until the end, then it felt rushed in an effort to wrap up the story. Almost like there was a page limit and the author needed to speed things along to meet the mark. Really weird.
I love that the younger, crazy and kooky Eli brought out the brighter and freer side of Quinn. Quinn may have been the older man in the story, but he still had so much to experience since he was stifled by Peter and his family for the last ten years.
"He'd been trapped in a monochromatic world of beige, of nice, of going with the flow, not making waves. Eli was the whole super-sized box of crayons, with no rules about staying in the lines"
And speaking of Peter...
It would really be hard for me to put into words how much I detested his character. So I will just say.....UGH.
As far as the Laurent family....they really had their heads up their asses. How everyone was able to live in their delusional bubble for as long as they did is beyond me??
Overall, an enjoyable read that I really liked, but didn't quite love. KA Mitchell may not have provided the meatier story I was looking for, but I got endearing characters, easy and funny banter and some smoking hot sex. Will I continue on with the series? Absolutely!

So very close to a 5 star read...more like a 4.50 but since i totally love the cover and can absolutely see Eli and Quinn as those two guys i will up it to 4.75 stars.
I loved Eli...snarky, feisty, razor sharp tongue but vulnerable and lonely too. No family, no job and no home...sucks to be Eli. Thank God for friends Nate and Kellen. I still adore Kellen, from Bad Company, but still think he is too good for Nate.
Quinn spent 10 years of his life with a guy who isn't worth the sh*t on the bottom of your shoe...i wondered if he was loyal or blind. He totally didn't deserve the crap Peter laid on him but he never should have allowed Peter to continue his sick twisted ways after he dumped him.
Together Eli is just what Quinn needs to spice up his lackluster life and Quinn is the stability and family that completes Eli. I am not usually a fan of big age gaps but it really works with these two as i could not picture them with anyone else.

This was a rollercoaster for me.At first I was excited and "oh,wow!" but then it went downwards to almost a DNF.It wasn`t the heavy BDSM-scene somehow coming out of nowhere or the annoying bunch of hyenas called family and friends.Not even Peter,Quinn`s asshole-ish ex-boyfriend from hell.
It was Quinn...I couldn`t stand the guy - my own personal red rag!

Way, way, way better than the first book. Eli is a hoot! I just want to put him my pocket and carry him around with me all day. The ending was a bit abrupt though.

This book has some incredibly hot sex between the awesome Elijah and ex-sailor now history teacher Quinn. Lots of family drama and Quinn's ex is such an asshole. I cannot believe how horrible he is to both Quinn and his family.
We see both Nathan and Kellan again.
I love the relationship build between Eli and Quinn. They're perfect for each other and this was a fun read despite the high drama. Eli's reasoning for dating older men over guys his own age was perfect and I'm glad he and Quinn found each other.

This book would be much improved if the author had given more of a background for Peter and Quinn. Some addl set-up would have made the family believing the whole "straight roommates" more realistic and given me a reason not to keep rolling my eyes at how stupid the whole thing was.
Live with a guy for 10 years, never have a relationship (at least publicly) with a woman, and still your family shuts their eyes to your sexuality? Not a single person in the family looks askance when the ex-"roommate" goes to the wedding, is the godfather and continues to go to family holidays? The new wife never once suspects?
Give me a reason to go along with all that please.

Not a single person in the family looks askance when the ex-"roommate" goes to the wedding, is the godfather and continues to go to family holidays? The new wife never once suspects?

So I went into this book with a good amount of trepidation because I didn't really like the first book in the series. Glad GR friends pushed me along to read this story. I absolutely love Quinn and Eli, they so perfectly balance each other out and have each others back even in the early days. And yes, this book was complete and total sexiness :) The auther also made me hate Peter to no end, so mission accomplished on creating my m/m nemesis (although Anzhel in Last Line is still number one nemesis).
