After vampires killed her parents, Kacie Renault devoted herself to becoming a vampire slayer. But now, desperate to begin a new life, Kacie decides to trade in her sword for a spreadsheet...only to be accused of murdering a powerful member of the undead. Suddenly this fierce woman is being hunted by a merciless clan--and one ruthless, seductive adversary she can't resist.
Erik Winslow is shocked to discover the slayer he trained has murdered his best friend. Now he must decide if he will avenge the death or stand against his fellow vampires to save a woman who defies--and captivates--him at every turn. But when she falls victim to a force more formidable than his own, Erik will taste a desire he can't resist...and a hunger neither he nor Kacie can control.
Robin T. Popp grew up watching Star Trek and reading Nancy Drew, Robert Heinlein, Sharon Green and Piers Anthony. She loved the daring and romantic exploits of heroic characters on grand adventures in otherworldly places. It wasn’t long before she wanted to write such tales to share with others. Though she was forced to take a thirty-year detour through the real world – which certainly wasn’t without its share of adventures – armed now with two masters degrees, a fulltime job and a family, she has taken the first steps toward realizing her original dream of becoming an author. Too Close to the Sun, a futuristic romance published in July 2003, was her first novel. Out of the Night is her second novel and represents her first foray into another of her favorite alternate realities – the realm of vampires. Robin lives southwest of Houston, Texas with her husband, three kids, three dogs, two frogs, one rabbit and a mortgage. She is living the American dream.
I loved, loved, loved it. Kacie has been trained as a vampire hunter, but decides to turn her life around taking a spreadsheet direction. All of a sudden she is being persued by a merciless clan of vampires, who are accusing her of murdering one of their own. Erik is the vampire that trained Kacie, and he can't believe she killed his best friend. Does he turn her over to his fellow vampires, or stand against them? But when something happens to Kacie to change her life yet again, Erik unleashes his hidden desire for her that burns uncontrolably, and they stand united against their common foe. Lots of action, and many twists and turns, though I did find a few amusing episodes thrown in. It's another have to read I'm affraid.
Mungkin bisa dibilang buku ini likable enough tapi kalau dibandingin sama Laird of The Mist masih agak jauh deh. Ide ceritanya menarik kok tapi mungkin eksekusi plotnya aja ya? Give it a try aja deh :)
I have to say that this is my favorite of the Night Slayers series so far.
Eric Winslow is shocked to discover one of his best friends and fellow vampires made by the Chupacabra four`hundred years ago killed actually beheaded. And when it begins to look like Kacie Renault was the one who did it, he must decide if he will decide to avenge the death or stand against his fellow vampires to save the woman whom he told his best friend her father as he lay dying he would protect her always. Erik and Kacie can't resist or control the hunger or passion they begin to feel for each other.
a night slayer book.i really love all of her night slayer books. it has romance, danger and mystery. although i did figured out who the bad guys were about the middle of the book. when someone is too nice you have to question it. an happily ever after ending. what is better than that. i will definitely read her books. and i hope she writes more night slayer books.
What a book! Robin Popp is now added to my list of must-read authors. A great vampire tale, with intriguing characters, a delightful heroine and heroic and charismatic vampire hero. What more could we want? Well, let's add in a great back story and real love. I really recommend this book to both straight romance and paranormal romance readers - you will all enjoy this book.
