Bunny and the Bear

Warning:
A sense of humor is required for this tongue in cheek, paranormal romance. It contains coarse language and explicit sexual situation meant for open minded adults. Please note, that while no bunnies were permanently harmed in the making of this story, the prognosis isn't so good for the pie.

What's a poor bear to do when all he wants is some sweet, bunny pie?

Bears and bunnies aren't supposed to mix, or that's what Chase keeps telling himself when his bouncy new neighbor won't stay out of his business--and his mind. However, the more he gets to know his overly perky neighbor, the more he craves her, a desire worse than his addiction to honey and pie.

Miranda's on a mission for the Furry United Coalition, and it involves secretly guarding one grumpy ol' bear. Staying focused on the job isn't easy when all she can think about is turning his frown upside down, a task made harder when she gets a glimpse of his passion. When she hears about his theory on woodland creatures and predators not mixing, she thinks all is lost, but she didn't count on a bear's curious nature--and possessive need.

When an evil force abducts Chase, Miranda unleashes her bunny in order to save him, but the revelation of her shifter side puts her in danger. Is one ornery bear enough to save her from a mad scientist? And if he does, can a bear forget her woodland creature status long enough to love her and make her his mate?

3 Ridiculous Stars

First of all, this is one of the most ridiculous books I've read in a long time but it did give me the giggles. This review is basically going to be an excuse to post an insane amount of gifs and pics.

My reaction throughout this book:

Well, a book titled "Bunny and the Bear" doesn't sound ridiculous at all.

The book is basically about a bear shape-shifter (duh!)named Chase and his new shape-shifter neighbor Miranda who shifts into, you guessed it, a bunny. Now, I spent most of this book waiting for

a Trix joke that unfortunately never came.

Now for a character breakdown:

Chase:

AKA

He's a very grumpy bear. He loves all things honey, and you better not interrupt his 16 to 18-hour sleep on weekends or he'll get even grumpier. He's a loner and really really doesn't like sharing anything.

Favorite Chase moments:

When I'm ready for cubs, I'll settle down with a nice sow with good genes-and a fat ass for slapping.

Friends and lovers expect things of you, like a helping hand, or sharing the blankets when you're in the same bed, or splitting your dessert when there's only one honey cruller left

In his world, a bear should work hard, eat a lot, and sleep even more. Friendships took away from those three tasks, and in the case of food, expected sharing.

Now, we have Miranda:
She's incredibly perky, well...like a bunny. When you think of a her in her bunny shape, you'll think:
and you'll think that all she's qualified for is this:
Turns out, there's more to her than meets the eye. Miranda is a FUC (-ing)agent on a mission. Apparently, when you mix this:

with this:

you get something as big as this:

but can do this:

So basically Miranda is:

A Saber-toothed bunny.

Now, Chase doesn't believe in cross-species dating but after he gets a load of Miranda's other side, he gets a change of heart.

As for Miranda, every time Chase is around, she goes like this:

and then like this:

Include some shadowy, most pathetic excuse for a bad guy I've ever read, and that's the basis of our story. This wasn't really good but the absurdity of the story itself was enough to garner three stars because I liked it despite myself.

***This review is an early birthday present to a dear friend and contains a lot of dirty language and quotes. I would strongly recommend you not to read this review.***

EDIT: Since I forgot to mention, Geri, my other darling friend, who was the one to recommend we do a buddy read of this book for our friend Alisa's birthday, I hope you enjoy the review. :P

Once in your lifetime you come across something you never imagined yourself doing. But then you take it all in stride and do it nonetheless, with all the bravery you can muster. This book has been one of those once in a lifetime experience for me and well, it didn’t suck as much as I thought it would.

The title and the cover says it all, doesn’t it? But if you need the plot of the story, it goes like this. Once upon a time there was an organization called the FUC (Furry United Coalition). *cue awkward silence*
*clears throat* FUC was a secret organization in the human world that protected the shape-shifters without their knowledge. Think of them as CIA for the furry shape-shifters. But here’s a funny thing, they even had reptile shifters, which is weird since it’s called Furry and reptiles don’t have fur. Anyway, ignoring the discriminating factor and getting back to the story, there have been disappearances among the shifters by some unknown villain (whose identity is not even revealed at the end) and this has got the FUC a serious case to crack. Our female protagonist, Miranda, a hybrid, saber-toothed bunny is assigned to protect a grizzly bear called Chase Brownsmith as he’s suspected to be the next victim.

I was surprised by the existence of a plot but what makes this story feel like reading a porn movie’s script is the conversation, interaction and actions of the bear and the bunny (Even if it is a porn movie with a plot, it’s still porn). The first time they meet, the bouncy, bubbly bunny is wearing shorts short enough to let the grouchy, irritable bear know that she shaves, which predictably gives him a hard on so strong that he fears his pants would tear off. Err.. quite the mental image after reading like ten lines, eh?

Anyway, the bunny pretty much stalks the bear while having thoughts of getting pounded by him constantly. Meanwhile, the bear can’t stop himself from fantasizing about his so-called delectable honey bun.

The bear tries to behave a lot, by keeping his boner in check.

But the bunny is a naughty little vixen according to the grizzly.

But here’s the plot twist: the bear doesn’t want to interbreed because he wants to keep his lineage pure. The bunny is hurt, obviously. Bunnies have feelings you stupid hairy bear!

He tries to keep his vow for like 50% of the book. There’s only kissing till then. He breaks when he gets kidnapped after someone drugs his morning honey buns (and he’s supposed to be a bear with a great nose *snorts*) and his neighbor bunny rescues him, showing off her freaky bunny skills.

I swear, by that point I was convinced that all the bunny could do was this:

But actually that bunny turned out to be more of this:

Finally, when the bear has been rescued and has patched up the hurt, burnt and shot bunny, the inevitable happens. They do it. And then there’s no stopping them.

They keep on doing it. And doing it. And.Doing.IT.
It wasn’t as disgusting as I had braced myself for but their dirty talking made me go like:

All in all, I finished it without losing a huge chunk of my sanity. In fact, I enjoyed a good laugh here and there because of the ridiculousness of it all. Here are a few lines from the story for you to enjoy:

“Somehow he didn’t think gagging her with his cock was the way to chastise her”

“No, but he knew a sweet pastry he’d like to taste”

"And what about her full hips made for bearing cubs?”

“Mmm, Chase. What a fabulous name. I bet you get girls asking you all the time to chase them through the woods.”

After a while, I stopped noticing such things and just went along with the flow you know?

Agreed, my expression was all like this during the smut:

It wasn’t a very terrible or awkward read after all.

2 stars.

I picked this one, because A) its a shifter story, and B) so many loved it here at GR. Unfortunately it was too uncomfortably close to Laurenston’s Beast Behaving Badly- one of my favorite stories. Not in plot- that was a bit too much like Lora Leigh’s Breeds- (government using baddie’s personal motives to kidnap shifters for experimentation so they can build a super army).

No, the heroine’s shifting ability was waaay to familiar- I might not have thought much of it except for it’s bizarreness. Because it was so unusual, it brings to mind another character that was abnormal as well with similar traits- the only other shifter I've read with similar traits- this makes it way to easy to think of it as a copy cat and if there’s anything the written world can't stand- it’s exact copying. And though I really did like the hero, even he was a copycat! (Bear's with prehensile lips anyone?) And to finish it off for me? There's a side character named Bo, (Hero of Beast Behaving Badly.) I get it- homage and all that- but, C'mon, really? You couldnt have done it in passing?? Subtlety thy name is Sir Not-Appearing-In-This-Book.

Listen I get that when a formula works there’s a band wagon thing that happens, in fact I’m even ok with it, because lets face it, our favorite authors cant crank ‘em out fast enough as far as I’m concerned. But when it makes me think of another story the entire time I’m reading it and I think to myself “well it’s obvious who her favorite author is” AND it has little individualizing flair? (Talk about predictable- I knew there was gonna be a traitor and I knew who it was as soon as they came on the scene.) It makes me uncomfortable and slightly disgusted.

So, despite the shifters- which I love- and the attempt at humor- which I love too if the author can make it work (sorry, not this one. the heroine works for FUC “Furry United Coalition” ::eyeroll:)- this paranormal romance is an epic fail.

4 ~ Silly, Sexy and Sweet ~ Stars!!!

*** Re-read on 9/11/2019 - Still really really liked it!

Finally got around to reading this one and am so glad I did!

This was a fluff paranormal read. I loved it! I loved bouncy flamboyant Miranda and the big gruff and growly Chase. The cover depicted these two perfectly. The mystery/suspense plot was okay but I really was only in it for the yummy bits between these two shifters. And this author totally delivers.

It was short, sweet, sexy and funny. Miranda is definitely not your average innocent bunny, she's a shameless flirt, a woman who knows what she wants. I don't normally like h's who do the chasing but Miranda was all in for the relationship and Chase is a no nonsense straight edge so their reversed roles made sense. They were so different but together they were awesome. I loved that although Chase does a bit of pushing away, it stopped when he realizes that Miranda is his one and only, that nothing matters except keeping her in his arms and making her happy, then there is no hesitation. He finally lets out his possessive, loyal and alpha bear out to claim his fluffy bunny.

If you need some light fun reading, I highly recommend Bunny and the Bear. Sometimes you need an easy fluff read and this one right here will definitely be re-read and staying on my keeper shelf.

Fair Warning
The cutesy banter is silly at times and down right ridiculous at others so I highly stress the fact that this is an easy fun read. I admit that at times it got a bit OTT with the "honey bear/honey pie" nicknames but it's all in good fun. Try it out with an open mind and enjoy. It's well worth it, IMO.

Safety: Chase is in his early to mid thirties and Miranda is 27. There is slight OW drama, when Chase tries to go on a date with OW, but he can't go through with it and ends up ditching his date. No Cheating and ends with a HFN/HEA (no marriage but acknowledged mates.)

Maybe I just needed to be in the moods for silliness. Unfortunately I don't have the sense of humor required to appreciate this novel with all kinds of shifters. I just rolled my eyes over and over again!

The narrator Abby Craden added an annoying bimbo-ish high pitch voice to Miranda which really made her sound like someone's sex bunny. The narration was meant to be cheeky (I think) but it was terrible. I almost never like her as a narrator.

Miranda was actually a pretty solid heroine. She's smart resourceful and stronger than people anticipate. She's a shifter who knows what she wants and she wanted that grizzly bear Chase. I am sure you won't be surprised if I added that Chase was ornery. He was a real bear to deal with. If you love puns, cliches and lots of sexual jokes, you will love this one.

Bunny and the Bear (Furry United Coalition, #1) by Eve Langlais is an Adult Paranormal Comedy Romance.
This book is exactly what the synopsis and the 'Warning' at the top of the synopsis says it is. In fact, the warning is so perfect that I feel the need to repeat it here.
"Warning: A sense of humor is required for this tongue in cheek, paranormal romance. It contains coarse language and explicit sexual situation meant for open minded adults. Please note, that while no bunnies were permanently harmed in the making of this story, the prognosis isn't so good for the pie."
This is the second book I have read by this author. I was not disappointed. It gave me exactly what I was looking for. Playful and amusing. It is made up of various types of comedy and spiced up with adult sexual situations and a mystery. There is satire, slapstick, and wise-cracking. Nothing is taken too seriously. Every scene is prey for a good laugh!
This book deserves 5 stars because it is exactly what it says it is. It is not pretentious. It will make you laugh, grin and snort out loud. There are a couple of editing errors, but they are overwhelmed by the humor and the easy flow of the writing.
Be prepared for your cheeks to hurt from grinning and out loud laughter.
I found there are 6 books in this series so far, this being book #1. Books #2 and #3 are listed on Amazon for 2.99 each. Books #4 and #5 are listed for 3.99. Book #6 is listed as a pre-order for 2.99 and dated for Dec. 14, 2016.

But it's just a little rabbit. But it has fangs! "RUN AWAY! RUN AWAY! This is what goes through my mind when I read this book. The Monty Python movie made me giggle so hard. This book did the same. I snickered through this entire book. It was light, funny and with a "fluffy" little bunny and an irritable bear. I have to read another book in this series, if there is a series. I didn't realize this author was quite so funny. I highly recommend this book for those who want to read the ridiculously funny.

this was not as bad as I feared...
It was totally CRAPTASTIC !
the plot- yes there was one! - was naturally totally predictable. But actually not quite as bad as I thought it would be. I wasn't even expecting one..I mean other than the smut.
And there was plenty of boink and even more talking about it!
The character building? uhm, what character building. If you mean by that, that this would have totally cliche characters with totally corny and cliche lines. Well this was full to the brim with it. On top of that there was a lot of at times quite disturbing dirty talking going on.
Sounds awful? Well it was.BUT I laughed the entire 160pages. Though I had to take a break after every chapter, I totally had my craptastic fix for the next few month!

here are some of the super corny lines, because its monday

the bunny, whose name he'd never gotten, sprinted off, her silken hair bouncing down her back, drawing attention to the exposed round cheeks of her ass, her slap-me, bite-me, plow-me perfect ass.

He clearly recalled her large, plush breasts straining at her snug t-shirt, a hefty hand full made for grabbing and squeezing- and burying his face between to blow raspberries.

FUC- Furry United Coalition.
Originally, they were called Furry United Coalition and Defense, but apparently, someone thought FUCD was to vulgar.

"serve, protect, and keep humans in the dark", that was their motto

You couldn't keep up with me. Don't forget, the Energizer was my granddaddy.

Chase glared at her. "Stop working so hard. I just gave you raise"

Chase almost looked around to see who'd spoken. Surely, he'd not just given the bunny a compliment. Judging by her pleased expression, he had. Shit.

"I am a woman. I don't need a reason,"she spat before pivoting and marching back into her place.

"Is it because of that", she inhaled. "Bunny?" she finished with distaste. "Don't talk about Miranda in that way", he growled.

"Fine. Go and cavort with little lettuce eaters. See if I care. ""

She would now take her punishment as she deserved - right between her legs.

"Don't throw my words back at me. I'm a man. It's my prerogative to be ornery""

He dropped his bulk into his chair, which creaked alarmingly. Dammed things kept breaking on him.

"You looking at a FUC agent in the flesh. And I am going to rescue that hot ass of yours.""

She blew him a kiss. "Don't worry I dont miss. Often, that is.""

"You're smarter than I would have given you credit for, long ears." "Her name is Miranda" "Touchy, touchy, big brother. "

I need some popcorn. This sounds like it would make a good movie""

Basically this is your spagetti-western come spy flick made into a porn book.

Will I read the next book in the series? uhm, well. never say never

someone just reminded me of this:

it fits this sooooo well. lol

Miranda and Chase. Quirky and grumpy.

It took me about a quarter of the book to realize this was a spoof or slapstick comedy. Prior to that realization, I was confused and frustrated. The narrator’s voice also didn’t help. I think the narrator was trying to add to the silliness, but it grated.

I enjoyed the mystery aspect and solving the clues. Also, I now know what to expect with this series and maybe I might enjoy the next one more because I won’t be wondering “is the author serious with this nonsense.”

I smiled a couple of times and some of it put me in the mind of SNL.

At A Glance
Hilarious and sexy!
The Good
Bunny and the Bear is lighthearted and funny with some grit and sass thrown in. And sexy, of course. Miranda is a bouncy, hyper, happy bunny shifter who works for FUC, the Furry United Coalition. It's Miranda's job to watch over the grumpy bear shifter, Chase. Shifters are being kidnapped, experimented on, and killed and Chase has become the next potential target. Chase is all glower and brooding while Miranda is all light and joy. As you can imagine, they clash like all get out, but their physical attraction is too hard to resist.

I loved Miranda's bubbly and perky personality. She really did remind me of a bunny. But this bunny has fangs! She can kick ass, bake a mean pie, and leave a man panting for more. Chase is set in his ways and he will not even entertain the idea of sleeping with a bunny shifter. Predators don't mate with food! But damn that food looks tasty!

Seriously, this book had me howling with laughter. All this talk about bunny pie was too freaking much, in a good way. Miranda and Chase balance each other out perfectly, like sexy yin and yang. I loved it! These two were a great team, both in fighting the bad guys and pounding each others private parts. :D This may be erotica but there is a plot and a pretty good one. Some good mystery and action. Lots of fun shifters to explore as well.
The Bad
Miranda was a little too accommodating, especially when Chase kept putting her down. It irked me. She should have given him a harder time over his asinine comments.
The Snuggly
So much yummy sex. Chase smashed Miranda's pie real good. Bwahaha. Loved the sex scenes.
Final Thoughts
If you are looking for a funny, quick read with great sex and good action, I would for sure recommend Bunny and the Bear. It made me smile, a lot.

Quotes
“Hurt my fluffy bunny, will you? The following moments were a red-tinged blur as he took care of the humans who dared hurt his Miranda. The idiot with the flamethrower screamed the loudest when Chase yanked off his arm and beat him with it. When that stopped being fun, he tore out his throat.”

Bear shifter Chase likes his life the way it is, he eats, sleeps, occasionally has sex with another bear when needed, his life is organized and quiet. That is until he meets new neighbor bunny shifter Miranda, who is bubbly, hotter than heck, and off limits as long as Chase is concerned, he doesn't mix with other breeds. Chase is a rational man, so why is he thinking non stop about his sexy neighbor, stealing a kiss or two, and finding a reason to seek her out?

Miranda likes to think of Chase as her grumpy bear, he is adorable with his sexy set in his ways stance. He also is her next mission to keep him safe from someone who is abducting shifters and Chase is on the list. Miranda works for the Furry United Coalition, but no one would know looking at her curvaceous body and her perky personality that she really is a lethal weapon and every ounce of her being says to protect her bear, even if he tries to deny it.

Loved it, another wonderful treasure. Miranda is a hoot and although Chase is stodgy in the beginning but he quickly falls for Miranda and he explodes as a character, talk about yummy.

Haha, this was book was a blast to read. It was so hilarious. Okay, so the smut scenes were a tad bit awkward and there were some cheesy dialogues, but really, it was so hilarious that overall, I enjoyed reading it.

My poor friend Navs didn't get a taste of bestiality in the book though :P I KNOW she was looking forward to it. Probably had a notebook out to take notes and everything. She really went to town reviewing this book. Seemed like she was preparing to analyze the book for an English class. LMAO.

Thanks to G for recommending it and all my girls for reading it as a group read "for my bday" LOL. Yeah, sure. Use my birthday as an excuse to assuage your curiosity for dirty, naughty books ;) :P I'm on to you all lmao.

This is one HOT book, no doubt about that. It had some very amusing moments! I liked the characters well enough, but I couldn't quite grasp the bunny shape shifter concept, especially one that had such aggressive tendencies. Now the bear on the other hand, well I had no problem with that one. So while I had a little bit of a problem with character images, it wasn't a bad read and the passion was over the top!

Bear shifter Chase likes his life just the way it is. Calm and boring. That is until the day he gets an energetic and very hot new neighbor. As tempting as she is, Chase has no interest in getting involved with a female from another species but Miranda has no intentions of letting him keep her out. Miranda is an agent for the Furry United Coalition and has been sent to protect Chase from being abducted. She knows she should keep her relationship with Chase professional but she just loves getting the grumpy bear riled up. When Chase is threatened, Miranda will reveal her shifter secret and risk her own safety to protect him and stop whoever is behind it all.

I'm not generally one for the overly perky characters but I found Miranda to be charming in her own way and I loved how she was easily able to get under Chase's fur. Chase likes things simple and Miranda enjoyed shaking things up. They're opposites that work well together and the bedroom action was very hot. Aside from the relationship, there is a good story to Bunny and the Bear. Someone has made a list of shifters and the ones that are on it are disappearing mysteriously. What few are found were tortured and murdered. There's more to this novella than just a quick coupling and like the rest of Eve Langlais' books, I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Bunny and the Bear is very funny and sexy. I did like the story plot and I am looking forward to more stories to come. Most of the time I find I don’t like very perky heroines but in this story the bear’s grouchiness off sets it and of course makes it funny and interesting to read because you never know what’s going to happen next between them. Then there’s the fun sexual tension that’s added in this story. I just have to spoil one sorry because I am not stopping. One scene Miranda is masturbating in her apartment. Chase comes knocking and she answers the door. You know what he smells right *wicked grin*. The next thing that happens, Miranda offers her fingers for him to lick when he refuses she licks them herself as a tease. Oh yeah, you have to read this book just to get the whole story in that scene because I was laughing my butt off.

I myself really wanted to get into the head of the villain. Eve has stated she is going to continue writing more so I hope she will tap into the villains head and let us know what he is about. I’m like the rest of you, we know every character is important in the story and you want to know what’s going on in their heads.

"An unknown amount of opposition, a labyrinth of passages, and a trigger-happy reptile. What fun."

I'm gonna start off with a small rant, okay? There are so many reviewers who rated this book low because it's not a "realistic" depiction of characters or romance.

This is the tagline:: "What's a poor bear to do when all he wants is some sweet, bunny pie?
This immediately tells me two things: 1. This is a fantasy world in which people can turn into bears and bunnies. 2. There will be a lot of sex.

The fact that anyone is disappointed at all blows my mind. The blurb clearly tells you what you are getting into and the author supplies a story with shifters having lots of sex and SURPRISE: a sub-plot involving a mad scientist. It's meant to be goofy entertainment, you guys... In that aspect, it totally delivers.

So cute and funny!

This is a very young in cheek funny book by Eve Langlais. Her books are always funny and also come with snarky and sarcastic wit. I love the super cheerfulness of our bunny, Miranda, and the staid, uptight, stick-to-his-own-species, honey-loving bear, Chase. And since both of these MCs are total opposites you know they will be attracted to each other.

The story was too cute and I can't wait to read Mason's story next. Unfortunately I'll have to save up since the books in this series isn't on Kindle Unlimited.

OMG Bunny Shifters exist! I'm looking at you Shelly Laurenston. I am looking at you! Because omg Bunny. Shifters. And she's freaking darlin in a perky, bouncy want to tie her down so she'll stop moving around way. I'm reading this series out of order and already loved it but even more after Bunny and the Bear. It's just a make you smile read that's a bit silly, a bit giggleworthy and has one sexy beast of a bear shifting hero. Oh and a dash of mystery and danger thrown in to boot.

The gist of this one is that the FUC agents. *nods* Furry United Coalition are out to protect some big manly unsuspecting shifters that have somehow landed on a "list" and keep disappearing. And Miranda--that perky bunny-- is the one in charge of watching out for a honey obsessed and grumpy ass grizzly bear named Chase and man once she gets close to him all she wants is to get even closer!
"Now you lie down" She loved the way he caught on quick. In moments, he lay flat on the floor and she found herself perched on his bare, yet nicely hairy chest. She grinned down on him. "Perfect. You know, I've always wanted to boink on a bear rug."

"Miranda," he groaned.

These two were cute. She's all bubbly, energetic and in your face. And he's serious and grumbly. Needs at least 14 hours of beauty rest every nice and. does. not. share. his. food. And they tempt each other something fierce right from the start. He wants her *honey pie* bad and she's so willing to let him at her goodies...once he's safe from harm of course.

It was just a lot of fun watching Chase and Miranda try to resist temptation while driving each other nuts and having a couple flub ups of both the personal and with the bad guys varieties. And then, of course, falling into all kinds of nekkid, sweaty good times with each other. I pretty much chuckled and squirmed my way through it and just had a blast reading Bunny and the Bear. Langlais has a wicked since of humor and just puts together some damn fine entertainment.

So freaking ridiculous.

A platinum blonde rabbit shapeshifter. She's the overly bubbly, daisy-dukes wearing, new neighbour.

And a grumpy, ornery, hardworking (against his will) bear shape-shifter

Rest is a hilarious journey of how these two fight evil mastermind's plans.

And one more thing, the cute bunny isn't as cute. She's a saber tooth rabbit. Whatever the heck that is. So hilarious.

Miranda moves next door to grumpy bear shifter Chase. She works for a shifter FBI'ish department and is sent to keep an eye on Chase. For some reason, she loves his grumpiness and he's finding it hard to stay away from her bouncing cheerfulness, although he's determined to only be with bear shifters to keep his line pure. That's what he thinks!

Very cute story. I could just imagine some of the scenes with Chase in his screaming bear shift breaking down doors. She's a bunny shifter with a little extra. I would recommend this book.

My review and an extended sample of the audiobook are posted at Hotlistens.com.

This book has been on my radar for a long time. It is no secret that I’m a huge fan of Eve Langlais. I’m also a huge fan of hilarious paranormal romance with shifters of exotic shifters. What I mean by exotic shifters, is the non-standard. The wolf and cat shifters are a dime a dozen these days. Bears are growing a lot too. But I love authors who choose different animals for their shifters and then use those animal traits to their advantage. Eve Langlais does a great job with that in this book with Miranda, our heroine and bunny. There are several other shifter breeds in this book as side characters including a giraffe, swan and crocodile (some of which are in future books, woohoo!!).

Miranda is a bunny and she is also a bubbly blonde who plays the “dumb blonde” card to a tee. Don’t let her fool you though, she isn’t stupid by any shape of the imagination. She is a FUC agent (yes, that is how it is pronounced). There is even mention that the agency was originally, Furry United Coalition and Defense, but people thought FUCD was too vulgar. Miranda may look like a girly-girl, but she knows what she is doing. She is a good agent, she is just using her looks to make people underestimate her.

Chase is a gruff grizzly bear. He is also a probate lawyer. He likes his sleep, sixteen hours on the weekend. He doesn’t like to share his food. He likes things nice and stable. He was able about order and not having things disrupt his life. That is until a bouncing bunny moves in next door.

Chase is on a list of males that are potential kidnap victims. So FUC sends Miranda to move in next to him to help prevent the kidnapping. There is a group kidnapping predator males in their prime for experiments. FUC wants to use the list as bait, but doesn’t want to tell the marks.

This story is very silly, but fun. If you are looking for a more serious PNR with tons of suspense and action, this is probably not the book for you. Yes, there is action and suspense, but the suspense is pretty easy to figure out. This is a story if you are looking for a quick and funny read, which I love to balance out some of the many dark stories that I read.

Narration
This is the first audiobook that I’ve listened to that was narrated by Abby Craden. She really nailed Miranda’s voice in my head. She got that bubbly, always happy voice down pat. Chase’s voice was good too, you could really feel the gruffness in it. He always sounded so grumpy. All the voices were distinct and the tones were well done. I’m excited to listen to her finish off this series.

I like to thank Audible Studios for providing me with a copy of this audiobook in exchange for an honest review.

I really enjoyed Bunny and the Bear. This is a light hearted book with an overly bouncy, extremely peppy bunny shifter and an ornery, grumpy bear who is obsessed with pie. There are no hidden sexual innuendos in this book. The sexual innuendos are in your face blatant and highly entertaining!

Miranda is a happy, bubbly, chirpy, and constantly in motion bunny shifter. This is an extreme contrast to Chase the grumbly bear who is her current assignment. Miranda is an agent for FUC, Furry United Coalition. Chase’s name has turned up on a list of shifters that are being targeted, kidnapped, experimented on then killed. The FUC has assigned the remaining living shifters agents. The agents are to see that no harm comes to these shifters while trying to uncover who is the mastermind behind these evil crimes. Miranda is enjoying her assignment a little too much. The more she is around Chase the more she wants him to sample her honey pie and he reciprocates these feelings.

I loved the way Miranda and Chase balanced out each other’s extreme personality traits. The contrast of her overly perky to his dour was fantastic. Langlais uses their animals traits perfectly and so thoroughly in their individual personality traits. Chase fights the attraction. She’s a bunny. What is a big grizzly bear like him supposed to do with a veggie nibbling herbivore? The constant contact has him so befuddled that he’s saying things to her that he never would have thought possible. He’s thinking of stuff that he wants to do to her that he just can’t see himself ever doing with a bunny. Bad, bad bear for even thinking of cross species mingling. I must say once these two finally get together, HOTTNESS and they’re going at it like bunnies. Bunny and the Bear has a great mix of sexual tension, humor, action, erotic sex and fantastic dialogue.
