She’s fighting the bond that ties her. Ava is tired of the men in her life hurting her. She lost her parents at a young age and since then has been under the control of the men who betrayed her. She fought to sever those ropes and built a life with determination and the desire to stand on her own. Ava has known about the world of shifters, vampires, and witches that hide in the shadows. She let a shifter string her along for a year, only to reveal himself and break up with her because she wasn’t his mate. So, she chooses to ignore their presence and vows never to get involved with them again. Her resolve shakes when she meets wolf shifters, Kerian and River. Kerian is the Alpha of an unruly pack of wolves, battling his demons for the good of the wolves under his care. River, his brother by choice, not by blood, hides his past behind his humor and wildness, fearing it will consume him and those he loves. Ava is determined to fight the bond that pulls at her, but they are persistent and prove over and over again that they are nothing like the men of her past. The brothers know Ava is their mate, but how do they convince her? Do they fight or run when the past forces its way into their future? Ava will have to decide if she will find safety in the arms that bind her and embrace the bond that connects them. Fighting Her Wolves is the third book in the Embracing The Bond Series, a stand-alone, shifter, steamy, paranormal romance. A guaranteed HEA where the female character ends up with two mates.
Note: Due to explicit language, graphic sexual scenes, and violence, this book is intended for mature (18 years +) readers.
I liked this book best so far. Could be because wolves are my favorite and I'm biased but oh well. This book still had the same problems as the previous ones but by this point I was fully used to them and moved on from them. It is getting better, the mistakes showing up less. The dialogue still felt a bit forced at times but not as often.
And now for the characters:
Let's start with Ava, since she is our leading lady. I really liked her. I hate what she went through due to the cult her brother was a part of. It is called a church throughout the book but hearing how it is described and how some of the people are treated, that is for sure a cult with a predictably sick and twisted leader. The choice they took away from Ava is something no man should ever have a say in unless that person is her partner and only she agrees as well. But for this situation, none of the men involved had any right to make the choice they did, whether she was seventeen or not. I hurt for Ava and what she went through but I am glad she found peace in Kerian and River and vice versa.
Next, River, my favorite of the two males. River is complicated and crazy and after hearing his story, it's understandable. I love that he always somehow has food in his hands but it also hurts because I know why he feels the need to keep eating, why food is such an importance to him. I love the relationship he has with Kerian and it's clear that, even as children, there was always a bond between them, preparing them for when they would share a mate.
Finally, Kerian. I loved Kerian, don't get me wrong. But I did have a problem with him in the beginning. At the start, he gets into an argument with one of his pack members who is not pulling his weight at the garage that Kerian owns and calls Kerian out for not doing any work, asking if he gets paid for doing nothing. I feel like Kerian should have reminded the wolf that the garage belonged to him. He did more than just work on the cars that came in. I know that, at this time, he was struggling with a lot of things mentally and had been drinking and fighting for a while but that doesn't mean he has to sit there and take it when one of his pack members, who has made it pretty clear he doesn't fit with the rest of the pack, decides to call him out as well. I understand the need to have a leader who can own up to their mistakes but to someone like this, Kerian should not have felt the need to explain himself or admit to anything. Especially considering this same pack member will likely be causing trouble down the line in later books. Other than that, I liked Kerian. He isn't the same kind of Alpha I've seen in other works but everyone leads differently and he leads with compassion and feeling, using his Alpha influence when needed.
And that's another thing, they reference the Alpha stuff often, to the point it gets repetitive. I get that it's a fact that the reader is not supposed to forget but I feel like it is constantly being shoved in the reader's face. This book is for adult readers.
I don't know, maybe I'm being too critical. I like the series overall and can ignore a lot of the grammar mistakes and such. I've seen books with great editing that end up being terrible reads. This one is a great read so the mistakes in it are fairly easy to overlook. I know that may seem to contrast what I said in the review for the first book but just because I can look past it doesn't mean I'm not going to notice it and bring it up.
I'm excited to see where we go with the next book. I have a theory that, with Bash as our leading man, our leading lady will be Marie. I was thinking that I want her to either end up with Bash or Bishop. With Bash being featured in the epilogue, that sets him as the next male who will be finding his mate. Earlier in this book, it was mentioned that he had never met Marie in person. I feel like that was a hint that she would end up being his mate. And I'm all for it. I'd love to see that girl grow with confidence and I know she would make one hell of a vampire. She and Bash would be perfect. She would save him and he would bring her out of his shell. If it isn't her, I'm not going to be upset. It was just a thought I had while reading and it was mentioned that they haven't met yet. That being mentioned just stood out to me as odd. Like, why mention it? Unless that was a hint that she and Bash would be the next mated couple. I'm excited to see her point of view, maybe see why she has so much trouble accepting herself. With the little we were given from Bash in the epilogue, I already know I will love him and love watching him fall in love.
And that has me thinking if there will be more after. Will Logan become a prominent character? Will Bishop? I'm interested in them both and hope to see more from them. With Logan possibly joining Kerian's pack, he will be around more often but Bishop is a wild card. So far, when a new character is introduced as a good guy, they become more active in the story, Ryker and Kerian being the first two with River added in during Ryker's story. But we will just have to see.
The next book, "Saving Her Vampire", appears to still be in the works and I will definitely be keeping my eyes out for it.

REVIEW: Fighting Her Wolves is the third book in the Embracing the Bond series which tells the story of wolves Kerian and River finding their mate in Ava. Kerian, River and Ava all have difficult and emotionally scarred pasts but finding out they are mates was just what they needed to finally heal. The moment that Kerian and River find out that Ava is both of their mate was very fun since she didn't want to date shifters but ends up falling in love with them both. Another moment that was emotional had been when Ava had found that both Kerian and River had come to rescue her from her kidnappers.
The best moment had been when Ava, Kerian and River finally tell each other they love each other with no limits or judgments. Their journey to bonding as mates was challenging since they had to fight the evil from River's past that almost ended all of their futures. It was an experience for Ava to find true love in these two wolves that changed her into a wolf as well as changed her life for the better. New shifters have come to all of their lives and I'm looking forward to the next book in the series.
This is my favorite in the series so far. Keiran and River are perfect and balance each other. Throw in their mate, Ava, and this book had me hooked.
Ava is trying to figure out her life. She knows of the shifter world from previously dating one and now her bestie has been turned. Due to said previous relationship, she has pretty much sworn off all shifters. Then there is her brother. That's a strained relationship that comes with it's own issues.
Keiran is the Alpha of the pack. And he's doing his best to keep it together. He has had a lot happen. We actually initially met Keiran in the first book. And River is his best friend that disappeared for a while. River went through things he hasn't even be able to fully confess to Keiran, but he hides his pain well.
Overall, I felt like the relationships formed between the three of them is needed. They leaned on each other and pulled the strength they needed to get through. River and Keiran's friendship/brotherhood mixed with the mate bond with Ava.
Side note: River is absolutely my favorite. This fool always has food. EVERYWHERE he goes. And so completely random. He's also hilarious.
More side characters found their way in that I hope we see more from.
I LOVE this series so far. The characters are all so great and likable, I haven’t had a moment where I didn’t like the personality of any of the characters.
The FMC in this one is so so strong and the pairing of their relationship was perfect. Each one has their own dark histories and the way they complete each other is so good.
The plot was super interesting and sad at the same time, this one is a tear jerker but I love how it wrapped up and the author still have time for the HEA, I bought the hard covers in this one and the rest of the series because I know how good it’s going to be!
Let’s see if I’m coherent enough after reading this to write a proper review…probably not, so let’s see GAH!!! I loved this so much!! Ava is a badass! I love her. River is my baby who I just wanna wrap up in love and never let go (unless he is going to murder someone, strangely hot) and Kerain is that fierce protector that I just LOVE!! Hot guys ✅ Badass FMC ✅ Story that kept me up way to late reading ✅
I’m obsessed and in love!! I can’t wait for the next book!! This series (interconnected standalones) is AMAZING!!
I didn’t mind reading this book there were a few things that, in my opinion, seemed very sudden and out of the blue. Some scene transitions could have been a bit smoother and I feel like there wasn’t enough focus on forming deep connections with the main character and her mates. Overall I didn’t hate this book I think what it lacked was an element of surprise, everything was a bit predictable. That being said I will give the author credit for work that was put into writing this piece I just feel it needed a bit more fleshing out and fine tuning.
This book starts off rather abruptly given the main character's dislike for shifters and men which was a bit jarring. However, it does quickly pull back and you're able to experience the chase between Ava and her men. The characters and story are wonderfully complex and it was very easy to enter the world without having read the first two books in the series. It was a very easy read and kept me captivated so I was able to read the entire book in a day.
I will state first off I stink at writing reviews because if I felt something you get the stars. I read for fun and to escape reality. Are there mistakes in the book? Yes. Am I more than willing to look over them because I had the feels and like the characters? 100%! If you are looking for a 100% error free book well just keep on looking. If you want a couple of possessive wolf shifters and an independent female lead, give this book a chance. I liked it in general and I loved River.
I was grabbed from the beginning and held until the end. The interconnected characters from previous stories made it feel as if I was revisiting old friends. Every moment of the pursuit and wooing of their mate was sweet and hot! The quirky habits of each character had me giggling. It was simply incredible.
I am not usually a big lover of RH but I loved the book before this one and the male characters were some of my fave side characters and I really wanted to read their story. I am glad I did because this was really interesting. I loved the background of the characters and how they could relate because of their trauma, even if it was a different kind of trauma, they understood pain and coping. They really did all need each other. It was sexy and sweet.
I loved this one the best. Yes, I am partial because of the wolves, but despite that still a great read. Pleasantly surprised at the overall story. I also love how the characters from the other books are intertwined within the story. Now, I want to go back and read book 1. The series is definitely worth reading.
Happy Ava got her happily ever after. Who would have thought she’d end up with a wolf in the end. She found out about supernatural through a dating app. The guy was a wolf.
Years later she has not only one wolf but two wolf mates who will do anything & everything to make her happy. They will protect her.
Very emotion book for Ava, Kerian, & River. All have a very emotional & hard past life.
I like these characters but for some reason I wasn't as hooked as I was with the 2nd book. Rykers book so far is my favorite. I have a feeling Logan and even Bashs books will be perfect. I did like the dynamics in this book and enjoyed the main characters. Overall it was a solid book.
I really enjoyed this book. Good character development, easy to read and the author definitely keeps you interested in the storyline. I didn’t think I would like the 3-way relationship but I will have to admit I throughly enjoyed it and you will too. I definitely will be reading other books from this author!
Another good read. The author continues with the theme of shifters vs humans and the trials that come with being a shifter. Ava finds she is the mate of River and Kerian. They both have their own issues that only she can smooth out. River's issues are told and then she ends up living through just a day of what he went through for 4 years. Love the story line can't wait to see what happens next
Ava is a girl with a clear vision of what she wants. When her whole world is shifted, tilted on its axis. It’s a beautiful story of learning to accept and be accepted. Overall it’s got what you want if you want a story that will keep you going all night.
I totally thought I wasn't going to like Ava tbh. But this book has got to be my favorite, so far! I am looking forward to the next book for sure. Bash seems like a broody hotty vamp.
This book was amazing . I was die to read about Ava, River and Kerian since they showed up in claiming her vampire. Each one has secrets and things to overcome that makes them a great couple.
It was such an easy read, I could barely put it down. It was easy to get lost in the book and fall into the world she created. It’s very detailed and well written! I hope that the series continues to be able to read the other non main characters stories.
I have absolutely enjoyed the journey through this super natural world that the author has created! All the characters have me anxious to see who she writes about next!
Is great! I love how interconnected everyone is. When you normally read an interconnected series there's no real cross over between the couples. This series everyone leans on eachother. And that makes it better.
She doesn't take crap from men! She wants to stand on her own. But what she wants isn't always what she gets. When her mates smell her scent its game on!
It was an action packed story. I hate that Ava had a rough time with her brother and Jason. I could t stand that guy. Ava sure did make the guys work for her. I loved watching them fall and her falling for them.
I read this in one sitting, really fast paced, quick and to the point. Feel like there was a missed opportunity in the writing at the end but that's just my opinion...
