I got this book when I was little and just came across it today. Of course my favorite stories are Mulan and Pocahontas.

Disney’s Princess Storybook Collection: Love and Friendship Stories
Plot: This book contains the stories 1) Cinderella 2)Sleeping Beauty 3)The Little Mermaid 4)Beauty and the Beast 5) Mulan 6)Dumbo 7) The Fox and the Hound 8) A Bugs Life 9)Lady and the Tramp 10)The Rescuers 11)Bambi 12)Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs 13) Aladdin 14)Pocahontas 15)The Lion King 16)Robin Hood 17)Lion King 2 18)Oliver and Company 19)Tarzan

My Thoughts: Pretty good edited versions of these stories. They give you exactly the *meat* of the story with all the details. Some of these I knew very well! Some of them I’d heard of when I was smaller and vaguely remembered some of the details (The Rescuers, The Fox, and the Hound) because I had the books with the records. Those I read kind of skimmed through. Because some of them I wasn’t *as* interested in as the more popular ones. Beauty and the Beast will always be my favorite of any bunch of Disney stories. Basically, I was partial to the ones about the Princesses and the others could have either been left out or gone in another collection. The e-book I read on Open Library had some of the stories missing, but luckily I have the actual book so I didn’t miss anything.

A good range of most of the best Disney movies. The text is very simple for children, obviously, and skips over or vaguely alludes to the darker, intense parts of the stories. All in all, it is a good resource for reading to children at bedtime or the like. It gives the stories, but in a very condensed way with nice pictures.

This is a big book containing shortened versions of many Disney princess stories. Some of them are not technically princess stories and some of the abbreviations unfortunately focus on the more negative side of the stories. Eg the story shortened from the Little Mermaid puts a lot of emphasis on Ariel doing it all for the love of Eric instead of also exploring her interest in all things human and the explorations of the human world and the ability to explore in itself.
It is nice looking with pretty illustrations. However the focus is not always what I want my daughter to remember from the overall story.

This collection is a great way to introduce student writers to the idea of a "seed" story. Most elementary students are familiar with the characters and their fairy tales, while these stories focus on smaller moments. A nice model text that allows a teacher to focus on building understanding for small moments while easily activating prior knowledge of the original fairy tales. This also gives student ideas for writing their own stories as they think of daily snapshots within other favorite characters' lives.

Immerse yourself in the enchanting world of Disney princesses with this extensive collection featuring shortened versions of their beloved stories. While some of the tales may not strictly fall under the princess category, and a few of the abbreviated versions may highlight the challenges faced by the characters, this book offers a delightful glimpse into the diverse array of princesses and their captivating adventures. As a fan, I thoroughly enjoyed these bite-sized snippets that allowed me to relish the essence of each character's unique story.

The stories are cute retellings of the movies. The pictures are wonderful. The thing I did not like about it was that they were not all princess stories. It's a princess collection so it would be assumed they would all be princess stories but they are not. Still the stories are cute and children who love Disney will love this collection of stories.

While I love the Disney film versions of these fairytales the written versions are not great.

It's a pretty good collection of SHORTENED stories for young princesses, but nothing fantastic or worth seeking-out.

I didn't read the whole thing, but each story is basically a shorter version of the real story, but they still have the same endings and some details were the same also.

Though I liked the stories in this book, I felt like when my daughters were young there were so many pages in it that they got distracted.
