Frostfall Island is getting ready for a big harvest moon celebration! Dozens of boats have arrived in Bayberry Harbor, and the island is buzzing with activity. Anna is looking forward to the delicious food and dancing. Her sister, Cora, is looking forward to meeting all the yacht owners, especially the single ones. Anna’s plan for a fun weekend is thrown into turmoil when the current owner of her late husband’s fishing boat shows up at the boarding house. He hands her a photo that he found in the wheelhouse. It’s a photo that stirs up far more worrisome questions than it does fond memories.
The weekend is further disrupted when one of the yacht owners dies in a deadly fire. As usual, Detective Norwich jumps to the conclusion that the death is an accident, but Anna finds evidence that points to murder. Looking for a killer is always a nice distraction when your life has taken a bittersweet turn.
Book 5 of the Frostfall Island Cozy Mystery series.

We're back with Anna on the island and let's just say that there's plenty of non-locals around to cause a little mayhem during the every-so-often Harvest Moon Festival. Throw in a photo that makes Anna take a look back on the time she spent with her (now missing) husband and re-examine bits of their life together and, well, Anna has a lot going on.
No lie, I almost think investigating the circumstances surrounding the fire and subsequent death are almost a relief from all the other stuff going on.
To be fair, it's not like Anna has a choice in not investigating. Given that the detective assigned to deal with island problems tends to classify things as an accident (when Anna knows it's not) and nobody else is stepping up, she does what needs to be done.
A deadly fire, a sister on the prowl, a picture that raises a lot of questions, a little run-in with the detective, and a lady who is VERY good at unraveling clues. GOOD STUFF!
Another fantastic book in this new favorite series! I love how this series has a personal “historical” mystery woven into each story. The added romance elements and quirky cast of friends makes for such a delightful story every time! I have my theories about where things are going to go in that background mystery and I look forward to every new installment where we get new clues.
This book checks all the boxes for a great cozy mystery!! It covers not 1 but 2 mysteries (one that continues from book 1 thru 4), several story lines imbedded within the main story and keeps the love story going between the main character (Anna St. James) and her love interest (Nate). Will also leave you wondering if Nate will eventually become the detective for Frostfall Island with help from Anna of course or will he just continue to help Anna on all her investigations??? Hmmmm?? Loved this book from start to finish!! A must read series by London Lovett!!! I can't wait to see what the next book holds for all the characters!!!
This was probably my favorite Frostfall book yet! I just really love Anna and Nate! We get a little more of the mystery with Michael and I’m so curious to see where that goes. The story was set in fall during a Harvest Moon celebration, which just felt so cozy. I’m already looking forward to the next book!
If London Lovett writes it, I'm reading it. A great addition to this series a pretty big clue in series overall mystery about Anna's husband. This mystery kept me guessing, I wasn't exactly sure who it was. I really like the entire cast of characters in this series and I can't wait to read the next one.
This series is so good! I was not expecting that ending! At all. Anna is the main character and her life has some tragedy as her husband disappeared at sea. She runs a boarding house and they are all such characters! So diverse but all wonderful in their own ways. Anna has a knack for solving mysteries, especially since the police force is...less than adequate. I love how the series is evolving.
I would recommend this new series , to anyone who likes a great cozy mystery.. Anna and her housemates have live on a frost fall Island, and make you wish you did too... I get so caught
I love the characters on Frostfall Island, their quirks and charms. This was a good twisty mystery with misdirection and all the good stuff. I can’t wait to read the next one.
This has become one of my favorite series! Every book has a mystery with another one lurking in the background. The characters are all so quirky and fun. Once I start reading, I get nothing done until it is finished. Each one leaves you ready for more!!!!
