In our lifetime, we will come to know hundreds if not thousands of people. Their presence, words, and actions will touch our lives in ways both seen and unseen—and the same can be said of us. But as we sail through life’s voyage, there will always be One who sits on the boat with us, and His name is Jesus.
My Mentor Walks on Water gently whisks away readers of all ages and circumstances on an inward journey of God’s divine love that will then propel us to love and disciple the people around us.
Donna Johnson kindly and gracefully demonstrates the power of finding our identity in who God says we are, choosing the right mentors, and the various ways we can be mentored through the journey we call life.
Readers can expect to deepen their connection to Christ as well as clarify their own sense of purpose as Donna Johnson guides them through beautiful dimensions of our own self-identity with God’s identity for usTransforming our future lives by writing a new story for the pastDeveloping our ability to see ourselves as God sees us and listen to His wordDeepening our understanding and knowledge of who Jesus is and His love for usExploring the ways we can be mentored by scripture, the Spirit, and other peopleMentoring others as we ourselves have been mentored At a time in the world when many are in need of a light that shines down upon them, Donna Johnson breaks up the clouds to reveal bright, clear skies that radiate love unto all who set their eyes upon Jesus.

I heard about this book on a podcast I listen to and ordered the book immediately. Yes, this is a “religious” themed book, but Donna states that from the beginning. The book begins with what it means to be a follower of Jesus, the Mentor who walks on water. Her theology is sound and I imagine someone hearing this for the first time would be excited to learn more. The majority of the book has excellent topics on how to live a life of purpose and fulfillment. I loved the work pages at the end of each chapter. I am hoping to read this book again with a group of fellow believers and non-believers in the same industry. Thank you Donna, loved your book!
We read this as a team Bookclub book. It had some good points. It is spiritual based so be ready for that to be the biggest theme throughout. Some of her stories seemed to just drop off and left me wanting more info. It felt a bit preachy at times and not all inclusive and loving as I feel Jesus was/is. It did make me think and reflect on how I go about my life in this world and that was a good point of the book.
