Bridger's Lost Duckie

Rate this book
I used to loathe working nights. Until one day the local kink club started holding their monthly munches at my coffee shop. Suddenly, I find myself longing for it to be the third Thursday so I could be there without the risk of actually attending a munch. I’ve been fascinated by the kinkier side of things for a while, and maybe that was why I was so interested at first, but everything changed when a self-identifying daddy named Bridger showed up with his sexy vibe, his infectious laugh, and his most-recent crochet project. Now it wasn’t an interest, it was a need, a need to learn more, preferably with Bridger as my teacher.

The number one rule of working the munch is that we can’t do anything other than serve their coffee—my boss afraid we will piss them off and lose him all the revenue. It sucks because it means the ball has to be in Bridger's court…or does it? When he accidentally leaves his mostly finished crochet duck one night, I take it as a sign to make my move.

Bridger’s Lost Duckie is a sweet age play romance featuring a daddy who lost his work in progress, the first time little who finds it, lots and lots of yarn, true love, and a guaranteed happy ever after. If you like your romances on the Hallmark side but a bit kinkier, check out Bridger’s Duckie by USA Today Bestselling author Della Cain and her bestie and frequent partner in crime, Kaytea Kat.

I thought it would be insta but they took their time to get to know each other and that kinda helps the love development for me. They did have a love at first sight moment and I like it. I didn’t like the immediate sex though, too early. What’s up with my books and sex lately?

Hudson was new to being a little - not my cuppa, but I enjoyed the ageplay nonetheless. They had some really cute and swoony scenes <3<3 Overall, this was a sweet, no angst with great age play dynamic. I’ll be waiting for the next book to be published:)

Short and sweet, a great introduction to age play. If you’ve never read about age-play, this is perfect.
It just didn’t work for me.
The relationship felt to insta-love, no real plot or development.
I don’t know if maybe I read to many age-play books, but personally this just doesn’t compare to some really great ones I’ve read.

⭐️ 3/5 🌶 1/5

This was a super soft, low-angst MM Daddy/Little romance—cute, sweet, and comforting. It had all the cozy vibes, with a nurturing Daddy and an adorable Little who just needed love and care.

The story is simple and lighthearted, with a lost & found trope centered around a beloved comfort item (Duckie!), which adds a touch of sweetness. It’s a very instant-connection kind of book, where the Daddy/Little dynamic falls into place naturally. There’s not much tension or conflict, so it’s a perfect feel-good read if you just want something soft and wholesome.

That said, while it was enjoyable, it didn’t fully grip me. The pacing was smooth, but the story felt a bit too straightforward, and I wish there had been a little more depth or emotional build-up. The spice level is super low (🌶 1/5), so it’s definitely more about the tender, nurturing aspect rather than the heat.

Overall, a cute and fluffy read! Not my favorite, but still a nice pick if you’re in the mood for something light and heartwarming. 💛

Sweet Daddy/boy tale with all the feels

Hudson and Bridger are so adorable together! It was so much fun to see Hudson have the chance to explore his little side with Daddy Bridger.

A relatively quick read that is lite and fluffy. I highly recommend grabbing your comfy jams and curling up in a cozy spot as you follow this sweet pair to their HEA.

I've seen this series around and I decided to give the series starter a go. It was a DNF for me. It wasn't badly written at all, I recall it being nice. I don't think this theme was for me. In this case it was simply that it wasn't the right fit for me as a reader.

This story is a sweet start to what looks like another good series. I really enjoyed reading Hudson and Bridger's story.

I received an ARC and this is my unbiased opinion

It was just kind of okay. I thought the couple was cute and liked how it was full of green flags. Plus, always love a happy ending.

Eh...

This story is fine if you've never read about Daddy Doms and want to start with a simple instalove book to dip a toe in.

However, for those of us who have read a heckofa lot of these books, its just too simple.

Sweet as sugar!

The authors definitely hit the sweet spot with this one!

Bridger and Hudson both made eyes at each other for a while before goring out. Bridger was technically off limits while at the coffee shop Hudson worked at so they had to find a way to meet outside of the shop

While there was attraction this was not insta love and I appreciate the authors took the time to develop the relationship.

Sweet Daddy/little romance, Daddy Bridger with his unconventional hobby and sweet Hudson who just needs someone to care for him. I liked watching Hudson blossom under Bridger's care and grow into who he really was.

Very cute and fairly tame. Hudson discovers a whole other side to himself when he meets Bridger and learns about age play. Hudson read up on daddies and littles but wasn’t sure all of that was for him. With Bridger’s help he finds those things he likes and those he doesn’t. Spanning about 6-7 months, Bridger and Hudson’s story ends in a HFN.

*loved the crochet aspect of this book!

Hudson used to hate working nights in the local coffee shop until the local kink club started holding their monthly munches there on the third Thursday and he was able to observe the Daddies and their littles so that he could understand more. Bridger was there looking sexy while he sat there and did crochet. Now it wasn’t an interest, it was a need, a need to learn more, preferably with Bridger as his teacher. The employees were not able to do anything other than serve coffee and so when Bridger leaves behind a mostly finished crochet duck Hudson takes it as a sign to make contact.

I loved this short story about the experienced Daddy who was attracted to the curious first-time little who was eager to learn more as they explored their general relationship. This was a really sweet story of something that had an instant attraction but at least had a build-up to anything else including a sexual relationship. Easy to read, feel and understand. This is an MM story containing mature content with a BSDM-like DDLB relationship.

3.5 stars *** I did like the story of how Hudson and Bridger became a happy couple. However, it was super sweet and almost too sweet for me. I understand that Bridger was helping Hudson come into the life of a Little but goodness, there was only one mention of discipline, and it was never mentioned again. I have read too many DDlb to think a boy never "deserves" a spanking or paddling. With this said, I did enjoy how Bridger was so understanding and patient with Hudson. He explained everything to Hudson and always asked if he was okay with that aspect or gave him other options, never pressuring him one way or the other. Hudson is very new to the life of a Little, having suspected he was one but never having anyone help him explore. It is a good book, and I will continue the series because it is well written and shows a different aspect of the kink.

Hudson works in a coffee shop. A group of Daddies/littles come in monthly for a munch during Hudson's shift. He is attracted to Bridger, a member of the group and a Daddy. He's been warned by his boss not to ask questions or flirt with the group members. How will Hudson let Bridger know he is interested? Will Hudson explore and discover his little self?

I enjoyed this story. I wish it would have been longer because I feel like everything was moving so quickly that I wanted to know what was going on behind the scenes of the story. I would have liked to see a more developed plot.

I liked Bridger and Hudson. I liked Bridger's patience and how he let Hudson know there was no hurry to make decisions or even to choose what Bridger might like if Hudson was not comfortable with it. I enjoyed watching Hudson's discovery of what he liked and didn't like. Watching their relationship grow was heartwarming.

I look forward to the next book in this series.

A bit of light fluff about Hudson, a barista whose café hosts a munch for the local BDSM club once a month. He's besotted with Bridger who crochet's different projects but has been told they can not flirt with the clients. (I wasn't quite sure why it was such a big deal) One night Bridger leaves one of his half-finished projects (a yellow duck) and Hudson tracks him down and learns he's a daddy and maybe Hudson is a little? Little-ish? They start to explore and HEA more or less.

I appreciated that Bridger wasn't filthy rich and had a day job with a side hustle of crochet patterns he would like to turn full-time. And I would like to see the yellow duck he was creating, I do appreciate folks who are creative with yarn, so it was kind light and easy and fell-good. If you are in the mood for that it's a good choice.

Hudson works as a barista in a coffee shop. He often works night when business is slow and boring. Then a special munch starts coming one evening every one. Listening to the munch members talk about different things opens up a whole new world to Hudson. He always thought he was into vanilla sex but learning about Daddies and Littles is making him start to wonder if he's as vanilla as her thought. He has a crush on Bridger, a Daddy who comes and crochets while he talks. One day Bridger leaves his latest crocheted duckie behind and Hudson tracks him down to return it. This is a start to a beautiful relationship. Bridger teaches Hudson that it is okay to be little and want someone to take care of you.

Super Cute
This book is just so cute it’s about a guy called Hudson who works in a café and just lately, they had been having a group from a BDSM Club come in one evening a week and it’s changed his outlook on life. And this is where he met Bridger. Hudson knew he was attracted to him and when one evening he found a little duck that Bridger had made he decide to take action and contact him to return his little crochet ducky. And this started both of them in a relationship that opened both their eyes.
Honestly this book is just so cute the passion that they share the connection they feel was just beautiful..

I absolutely loved reading this book it was awesome, the story was mesmerising and the characters were really amazing. This story was about Hudson and Bridger, Hudson works in a coffee shop he always works the night and that was the first time he met him the Daddy of his dreams he ended up crushing bad. Bridger is always busy with his work making patterns so even a beginner can crochet and the pattern he is working on is a duckie. Bridger joined the group for a meeting and that was when he seen a young man a little, he couldn't stop crushing on him. The chemistry between them was off the rickter scale.

This was adorably sweet, low heat, high fun entertainment. It was not as "in-depth" as some of the author's other works but was definitely bite-size entertainment.

I enjoyed both Hudson, a young waiter who is intrigued by the new group that has reserved tables at his coffee shop for every Thursday night, and by Bridger, an older man who spends all his time crocheting little ducks until he "accidentally on purpose" leaves one for Hudson to find.

Hudson's discovery that he's a little and his intro to the lifestyle and to Bridger who has been wanting a boy of his own was well done. I just may hang around for more in this series.

Hudson has no idea what he's getting into when he makes his move on Bridger, just that he knows he's attracted to him... they take their time learning about each other and Hudson also researches kink to understand what he's getting into...

I like the pacing of this book - while there's an instant attraction, they don't instantly fall into love and they actually work to find their compatibility... that's not to say it isn't low angst and still a fairly quick pairing, but it was sweet and lovely all the same.

If you like reading about a boy discovering his kinks for the first time and a sweet and understanding dadday then Bridger's Lost Duckie is a read for you!

Fulfilling needs you don't know you have. Hudson, has recently started to explore his curiosity in kink. A group of men, who he later finds out are daddies and littles come by the coffee shop he works at every month and he observes their gathering. He is attracted to Bridger, who he hopes likes men. His boss, warns him not to make a nuisance of himself as he doesn't want to upset his revenue stream. Bridger is attracted to Hudson and guides him through his curiosity. Sweet story reading about Hudson's awakening & exploring and Hudson's patience and sexy wisdom. Good story, nice friends and supporting characters. Well done. This book was a cute Daddy/Little Boy short story. This story revolved around a guy named Hudson who works in a coffee shop ☕️. A group that is a BDSM group goes to the coffee shop for a get together. Hudson meets a guy there named Bridger. Bridger is a guy who crochets ducks and other things. He leaves a duck that he crocheted there for Hudson to find. Hudson gets the duck back to Bridger. Bridger finds that Hudson is a Little and he wants to be his Daddy. Hudson begins to like Bridger and to have him as his Daddy. Bridger takes Hudson to the BDSM club where there are other Little’s that Hudson can meet and play with. I liked Hudson and Bridger together as a couple.

Cute but...

No setting. No backstory. The 10-minute window you read of their lives is adorable. But where do they come from? Where even are they now? Do they have siblings? Parents? Goals? I liked these characters, and i want to know more about them. The beginning of the story centers around these Thursday munches and then is never mentioned again. Hudson feared losing his job if he flirted, so how do they navigate that once they start dating? Does Bridger stop going to the munches? Does Hudson stop working them? Do they pretend not to know each other? Was his boss ultimately cool with it? The story is so low angst that it left me with all the angst.

This was a cute story, if a bit short. Bridger attends munches at a local coffee shop, at which Hudson is a barista. Bridger "accidentally" leaves his unfinished crochet project behind one day, and Hudson picks it up to give back to him. Both Bridger and Hudson have crushes on each other, and while Hudson knows that the munches at the coffee shop host to a group with alternative relationships, he isn't sure what they are about. Once he meets Bridger, and learns a little about the lifestyle, he is curious and trusts Bridger enough to try things he's never done before. They are very sweet together, and I wish there was more relationship building, as their HEA seemed a little rushed.

I loved this book! I thought that Bridger and Hudson were perfect for each other. I loved the connection and chemistry between Bridger and Hudson as well as the cuteness. Bridger hasn't has a little in a long time while Hudson is new (just peaking) of the lifestyle but together these two fall hard and fast for each other. Bridger was very supportive and sweet with Hudson while Hudson was open-minded and was willing to try to new things. I can't wait for the rest of this series!.

Hudson and Bridger's story gave me all the feels. I really loved their meet and their sweet relationship...I love daddy/boy romances and this one was nice. Hudson not knowing the kink well but had a special connection with Bridger which allowed him to explore his growing little side. Bridger was the perfect daddy for Hudson. Very enjoyable low angst, kinky romance with some spice that good from start to end. The writing duo for this did great and I can't wait to read more from them.

Amazing

Aww so good. I absolutely loved this book. As far as I know I have never read a book by Della before. I wasn't sure what to expect especially considering I decided to not even read the description for this book. I just saw it was a MM Daddy/little book and decided I would give it a try. I am pleasantly surprised and I loved this book. It was so good, so sweet and cute. I flew through it without even realizing it. I am excited to read the next book and the rest of the series. I definitely recommend this book

I loved it!

I adore Della Cain’s work and teaming up with Kaytea Kay gives us so much more. I really enjoyed these characters. I liked how Hudson was a genuinely nice guy with little tendencies he didn’t realize were a thing. Watching him grow into himself was a delight. Bridger is my type of Daddy. A true caretaker. What I really liked about their story was the uniqueness of it. Even though there are some similar things the authors gave their own twist to make it new.
