About the author

N. T. Wright is the former Bishop of Durham in the Church of England (2003-2010) and one of the world's leading Bible scholars. He is now serving as the chair of New Testament and Early Christianity at the School of Divinity at the University of St. Andrews. He has been featured on ABC News, Dateline NBC, The Colbert Report, and Fresh Air, and he has taught New Testament studies at Cambridge, McGill, and Oxford universities. Wright is the award-winning author of Surprised by Hope, Simply Christian, The Last Word, The Challenge of Jesus, The Meaning of Jesus (coauthored with Marcus Borg), as well as the much heralded series Christian Origins and the Question of God.

NT Wright takes the scholarship of the ages and weaves it into a front porch, with a glass of lemonade and crickets chirping in the background.

The way he engages, well everyone, with the wisdom of his deep Biblical knowledge and insight is refreshing and enlightening.

I will likely not study a book of the Bible without this series again if it is available. 10/10 - 5 stars all the things.

Great read as an audiobook. Wright reads a section of scripture and then adds commentary and interpretation. A wonderful way to listen to scripture as you drive. I enjoyed this as a Holy Week practice.

This book is one I'll revisit often I think - NT Wright has such a way with words, and such an ability to teach and to challenge readers to apply. Matthew has come alive in new ways for me because of this commentary, and I'm excited to continue on.
