Becca fell in love with storytelling at an early age. The first book she ever read was The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe, and she’s been looking for the door to Narnia ever since! She’s a passionate reader, consuming any mix of paranormal, mystery, thriller, sci-fi, or fantasy. So it’s no surprise that she writes in these genres as well. When Becca is not writing, she loves to sew, from cosplay to elaborate magical creature bags, she just loves to create!

I was so excited to read this. While my tastes tend to run more literary, I am always up for a good supernatural thriller. While I'm not usually in the market for teen related faire, I am also a high school English teacher and always on the prowl for books my students can really enjoy. That's how I initially discovered the first book in this series, Riser (a must read!). And I was hooked almost immediately by the sheer creativity of Ms. Smith's world and her grasp of the teenage mind.

I was incredibly impressed by this second endeavor. Usually a second novel in a series pales in comparison to the first. Most authors have a hard time continuing to innovate with the same characters. Ms. Smith has no such problem. Her world has a wonderful depth and she has given herself a large pool to draw from when it comes to finding new adventures for Chelsan. I was actually more engrossed by this chapter of the story. The stakes were raised and it didn't feel forced or repetitive. The action was taught and I even found myself being drawn into the feud between the rivals for Chelsan's affections. There are surprises around every turn and I couldn't turn the pages fast enough. My only regret is that I now have to wait yet again for the next book. I gave the last book 5 stars. I wish I could give this one more.

I wasn't really expecting much when I started reading this series, as I was able to get all of the books for free on Amazon. However, after reading the first installment, I was amazed at how much well thought out the plot was! The one thing I could do without is the boy drama, but it is typical of teenagers so relevant to the storyline. I read this installment and it just keeps getting better! I still can't believe what a steal this was! Perhaps my favorite series I have read in awhile. I'm off to read the next book 😊

Good

I think my younger self would have loved this book. It was very teen angst and a lot of the book was about how wonderful Ryan was. He's a good dude but I preferred Bill until later in the book. I also found Jason and Nancy a bit cringey only because of the age difference...I guess love doesn't discriminate against age? Lol he's like 80 or 90 and she's like 18 or something. Sure, he looks like a hot twenty something but still, couldn't get passed that. Again, I probably would have loved this in my younger years. Overall, a good book just not my favorite of the series.

Great except for writing in teen sexual relationships. Parents who don't care if their daughter's friend sleeps with her boyfriend at their house. This just isn't necessary to the plot development! Boo! Won't be finishing this series.

I realized I never reviewed this book even though it has been awhile since I've actually read this series I'm still going to review it.

I absolutely loved this book as much as the first one. It definitely was fast-paced, intriguing and action packed. There was twist and turns within every chapter that kept me interested. I liked the introduction of Elisha and other few characters. I couldn't wait until I read the next book and bought it immediately! This author is an exceptional writer and recommended this saga to a few of my friends and they loved the series as well. Can't wait till I read more.

I read Riser, the previous book, and almost immediately loved the series and had to get the sequel. It was filled with twists and surprises. I'm surprised it isn't a wildly popular series, because honestly it deserves to be. I highly recommend it.

I don't know why this book/saga isn't the new "The Hunger Games". In fact, most people haven't heard of it. But THIS BOOK IS INCREDIBLE. Aside from multiple small typo's that can easily be ignored, this book is flawless and perfect. It is certainly my #1 favorite series. :)

Great second book in this YA SF series. I love the way the author brings the main story to a close instead of just leading into the next book. Can't wait to read the final book!
